Ok Wally but are Timeouts ever needed to substitute players, IRL?

I mean the CPU subs players in and out all the time.

Are we sure those are not timeouts by the CPU (without going to a timeout cut screen) ?

not trying to sound like an idiot here, I just am not sure.

I believe its an nba rule that you can't begin the 4th quarter with more than 3 timeouts.

It can't happen anytime. Only on deadballs.
            - Looseball, blocking, or shooting fouls (no just when FT's are shot)
            -Jumpball situations
            -during Freethrows
            -When called for Traveling
-When called for out of bounds

These are all deadball situations where a TO is not needed for subs. But during a fastfaced, no foul period during a game where you need KG to sub back in with 3 minutes left in the game, and HE can't because of no deadball situations occuring.

Now-a-days that seems rare to not have a deadball ever 30 seconds or minute because VC has done a good job of having more fouls called, jumpballs, traveling, and more balls bounce out of bounds for the turnover. So really, it doesnt seem to be a big issue. But when you have KG on the bench witha minute left, because he had 5 fouls, and you need him in. You want to have that luxury of knowing the CPU can call timeouts to get their stars back in.

Those situations are rare. Which builds my frustration with VC so much knowing that this error is so minor, to fix, but can't be fixed right now with us users and knowing that it can totally hinder the realism of a close game... we all love close games.

Good to see the staff making this thread a sticky.

We need to get this out. Hopefully somone from VC will see this and it will be fixed.

It worked for me. I was going back and forth against LA with HOU. I was behind, and at the end all of a sudden Mac got hot and hit like 4 3's in a row, which led to Hou getting momentum and the CPU called a good 3 or 4 timeouts, and I ended up losing by a shot.

is this in franchise mode or exhibtion mode?

Exhibition. I havent touched franchise yet. I want to make sure I learn the moves and get them packed down first.
