I'm having plenty of close games that go either way without the CPU time outs.

This game is still fun, just not as good as it could be at the moment.

I'm currently in the same boat as Dynasty4Kobe, from what I have heard this game is pretty good. The Association looks interesting and seems like a good time but the TO situation is too big to overlook.

I have heard decent reports on Live and it truly is a toss-up of what I will buy until VC comes out with a legitimate solution for this problem.

I'm in favor of a solution also. We know what we are able to do on our own about it but it's not quite good enough. It's now up to VC to correct the situation. They can't possibly let something so little (but big) deeply hurt the game only after two days of release. The brand new Association mode won't even see any action for a lot of people because of this. I remember a similar problem was in 2k3 when the double team setting for the cpu team was set to manual on default. The result was, there were no double teams on any hot offensive players unless you changed the setting yourself. The problem with VC is that they put all the coaching settings at manual thinking that all human players want manual control. But they forget to program the game to switch to automatic for coach settings if the team's controlled by the cpu. So instead, it's left at manual. And the result? Horrible AI strategy. But hopefully this can be addressed somehow. Don't let your supporters down, VC.

I completely agree, I am having a blast with my sliders. W/out the TO problem this game is between an 8-8.5 for me. If it gets fixed, 9 at least. The last few days I have played ESPN and Live to death. I love Live's Franchise mode(best in Bball yet) but the gameplay still leaves alot to be desired. Still a good game but ESPN plays so much better on court. So, I will return Live( I rented it) and keep ESPN. Wether VC fixes the TO problem or not, I am about to start my franchise and enjoy this game. Now I will be on the sliders board from now on. This TO thing is over and done for me. We all know about and nothing I can do but enjoy this game and stop complaining about something I know exists. PEACE!

That's just not true for most of us. I'm glad it's over for you, etc. but the fact is that if people *don't* complain then we have zero chance of getting this fixed. Really, if there wasn't an outcry for a patch then why would they bother? I, for one, am still waiting on a patch, as are many others.

I'm still having fun with the game AND I want a freakin patch!

Just because we are enjoying the game still and have not thrown it on the scrap heap, doesn't mean that we don't think it should be fixed.

I for one would just not like to see someone who doesn't have the game, NOT pick it up because they think the game is now unplayable or something.

It is still very PLAYABLE for many people, just not for those that have decided that it is not.

For some, even as we wait for and EXPECT a patch to fix the TO bug, we still enjoy it for how it plays even w/o the TOs as best we can.

Re: CPU Timeout problem, reason inside

This problem doesn't deserve to be defended. I think the developers at VC deserve a ton of credit but it's the corporate guys who publish the game who people need to get mad at. Obviously VC put in a lot of work. Mistakes happen. It's up to the publishers to make sure the game is polished and glitch free by making sure the team has the resources and time to fully test it. Ever wonder why some publishers always have glitchy games no matter which developers are making the game and why some publishers always have glitch-free games even with lesser known developers. Sega hasn't exactly been with it on the business side of things lately and Take Two has never been known for publishing highly polished games even if their games do sell a ton.

The bottom line, if the corporate guys gave a sh##, they'd release a recall. If the point of the $20 price tag this year is to capture market share for the future, then they need to get this right. The bottom line is that the glitches in this game are severe. The time-out bug is not excusable. I don't know how some of you insist on saying it's no big deal. It's no big deal to casual gamers however VC advertised this as the most realistic game and with this bug, there's no way it's a sim...bottom line.

I will never play the franchise mode in 2k5 again. It's a shame because I love the game otherwise. This problem was so bad that I went to the store to pick up Live 2005 for the single player. I'll still play 2k5 online and I guess that's where I can justify that I got my money's worth. It's definatly the better game when A.I. is taken out of the equation. The problem is I feel that the 5 on 5 gameplay of Live is completely inferior to 2k5 aside from the polish, balancing, and A.I. It doesn't feel realistic otherwise and it's not very exciting. It's almost like I have to force myself to get used to it or like it.

If the publishers gave a crap, there would a recall or an add-on disk sent to stores for gamers who could prove their purchase. This shouldn't be a tough fix.

The other shame of it is that if the developers had a season mode, none of this would matter. We would be able to edit all the teams to different coaching tendancies (so that they shoot outside more), we could turn off dumb trades, and we could switch teams before the games to fix the time-out bug. Obviously they took out the season mode to force gamers to try out the association. I can appreciate the developers or publishers to want to force gamers to try this mode out however when they do something like that, they had be very sure that the game has no glitches. Obviously with the rush put on the game, this wasn't going to happen.

If you start out you vs the CPU and then switch the CPU to 2p and change the timeouts and set it back to Cpu, you can keep user records...
