thanx for responding, you guys are doing a great job!!

but yea, I'm happy to hear that... cuz itz a tough pill to swallow when your D12 and you have to watch an AND 1 animation play out right in front of you and you could of did somethin about it!! NO EASY BUCKETS!

As for take charge vs. blocking, this will depend primarily on the user's timing and positioning on defense.
Thanks for the response man, I really can't wait to try this game out myself. A lot of things you have said are going to be real interesting see especially the in air collision between bigs and guards..

Re: Ask the devs : Physics

My biggest pet peeve of the NBA Live series has been the ball/rim/backboard interaction from the mid/long range shooting. Let me explain: it's either nothing but net for a FG made or a hit of the rim for a miss, so whenever the rim comes into play I already know that my shot was unsuccessfull. There are no lucky rolls, rattles or in-and-outs, it's all "binary" and feels scripted (like the system decided beforehand the outcome of a shot). I already heard that the rim does not fall in RTP this year, however has something been made to improve this aspect of the game? Thanks rEAnimator for interacting with the community.

Didn't know where to ask this but:

What is the thinking going into not giving the user full control of the user controlled player's speed? I can understand the removal of a turbo button, especially with a left analog stick that allows variable speed control but why not allow that to range for walking to full sprint? It's been my experience when the CPU gets to decide for you/me it chooses wrong at least 50% of the time!

since you are looking into that it would be really cool if we could get a shot off after a foul(ala paul pierce) and the refs(game ai/logic) determine if it counts or not.....

Not sure if this involves physics or if it's been discussed, but are there going to be plenty of tipped up rebounds this year? I remember last year there were a few of those animations, but it was only one player tipping it to himself. In the NBA it seems that there are very few rebounds where one player sees it all the way in to himself and grabs the ball to himself. With the new physics system it would be nice to see the rebound tipped up and players battling for it, since it could be a different result each time. Thoughts?

Reanimator Will we still have signature shot arcs?

if so shooting will be crazy in this game.

It adds more skill and risk.reward balance for take charge.

Your question about referee tolerance is a good one. I don't think we've added that but I'll make a note. Could add an interesting dynamic.

                      Thanks.
The other game has a 'Draw Foul Tendency', the higher the tendency the more calls the player will get. This is something you guys should look into. It really separates players like Durant from other players.

More calls mean more free throws, this could really help those top scorers get their 30 points without jacking up 30 shots.

Exactly. You can see it reflected in the stats. All the top scorers in the NBA get to the FT line a bunch. All of them.

i'd rather the game call things fairly instead of giving the super stars an unfair advantage like in the actual nba. if you are beating people off the dribble and getting to the rim, i think you should get the same calls whether you are considered a scrub or a superstar.

Agree. Aggressiveness to the basket should be the key into getting to the freethrow line so often and not the ratings.

Had a question about animations. In last years title, dunk animations in particular were very few and not very signature to players. What I mean is Kobe, King James, Wade, and Dwight were doing all the same dunks, no real signature to them. It goes for everyone else in the game, everybody had the same dunks and there was no variety. With that said I have two questions...

1.) How many dunk animations will make it in this year? Last year talking to Mike he said you guys only had about 100+ dunk animations. Are you guys going for 300+ dunk animations this year or what?

2.) Are you guys going to variate the animations this year so we don't have Wade and Kobe doing Lebron James type dunks?

Really hope you guys added tons of new dunks because it's been the same thing for the past 4+ years and with the same answer of next year we will incorporate more things. That next year was a couple of years ago and it's time for that now. 2K is killing you guys in this area and I can't believe it hasn't been address yet. Old-Gen of Live had tons of dunks and variety; I don't understand how you guys could take a step back.

If this gets added, it'll be one of the sweet little touches that add icing to a cake.

Seriously, there have been countless tennis games where you can play a shot or two after the ball goes out etc and there's no reason it can't happen in an NBA game. It'll just make it look and feel so much more authentic! You could even have it as an on/off option like the after play cutscenes.

Oh and I still haven't seen a reply to my question on one of the first pages about the animations related to all these new possibilites... the early clips all seem to be Live 10 animations, will there be a whole heap of new ones to make the game actually look different from last year?

                                Thanks mate
