    Re: MAN I LOVED LIVE..............

first of all, making this thread in the Live forum is a blatant attempt to get some kind of fight started with somebody. my participation in this thread definitely was not in any way in response to the original post b/c you were just starting trouble. the thread probably should've been locked before the first response.

Second of all, as I stated, my response was to posters (specifically the one in this thread) claiming that ANY game that has players in constant movement mirrors the NBA and ANY game that doesn't have players constantly moving does not. The short answer is, this isn't true, however I went farther than that, and actually only posted b/c of the claim that said poster just watched a game and saw this constant movement which is pretty much just a lie.

Now the statement that players may not move as in run around all the time but they bump and tug and bend over constantly, basically commenting on 10 man motion capturing. No one would deny the wonders 10 man motion capturing can do to a basketball game, but it is very clear that wasn't the initial argument. It's also clear, to be technical that there are LOTS of occassions where outside of breathing and looking back and forth, players really just don't move.

Like Graphik and Monkey, I'm finding it hard to understand the problem. This is just how it is, it doesn't make any game better than any other game. I'm finding it curious that you, proclaimed to be an espn fan, starting this thread to piss off Live fans, and are the main one trying to debate with me a point that whether or not you consider it the better game, ESPN probably portrays the real NBA movement closer. should make a lot of people wonder what your motivation is if they haven't from the first time they opened this thread.

      Re: MAN I LOVED LIVE..............

Interesting debate....good points on both sides.

according to Steve BTW in the ID forum beta report, ID has better OTB movement than Live and I LOVE Live.

I'll be checking out Drive for sure though again this year.

      On a side note:
One little detail that I noticed about LIVE that seems to add to the realism of animations on the court. Even when the players are NOT moving they rock back and forth in place with knees slightly bent, shifting their weight as if they are in an athletic posture, ready to move.

Just a subtle little detail that keeps the game APPEARING as if it is always in motion.

It is a very cool feature and simple as it is ALL the games should add it next year to avoid the "Statue" problem.

Turn off inbound 5 second rule and watch the players before you throw it in. Very cool looking, and adds to the illusion of movement.

Ho, hey, whoa, slowup a little. I never said ESPN was the way the NBA is depicted. Reason being I never played it.

I honestly dont know how ESPN's off the ball movement is. The one thing I do know is that the OTB in Live combined with the vast number of animations are what make the game so fun. IMO of course.

Yeah, even though I am settled on ESPN and really enjoy LIVE...for authentic play books, you absolutely cannot beat ID. It's in a class of it's own.

Having said that, I'll probably stay away from it this year...maybe come into it around the play offs or something. I've played ID02 / 03 so much, I'm emjoying the change.

The team styles, play sets etc...are a world apart though

BTW, Atrillionare even admited in the ESPN forum that he was just tryna get into Live fans heads with another post he made. Not saying that this thread had the same motivation but one thing you should know about him is that he was a true ESPN fan from the beggining. And once you know that, you should know what to expect.
