Re: How is YOUR Career Legacy going?!?!
Also, wanted to give an update on my Vermont legacy. I wanted to sim ahead to the point where my original stellar recruiting class were seniors and my 2nd great class were juniors. The team was so good they went on to win 25+ games in back to back years, culminating in an offer from Missouri. I'm not used to getting a power offer after just 5 seasons, and after briefly deliberating, decided to stay with Vermont and finish this thing out with my kids (strange how I almost feel a bond with computer generated video game characters lol). So now here I am with Vermont, pulling off a huge run in the tourney, currently leading Ole Miss in the final 4 61-60 with under 10 mins to play. This could be my last game with the Catamounts and I'm looking to move on after the season.
I wanted to leave Brown U after the 3rd year, but the job offers wasnt good enough for me. I wouldve had to star all over, so I decided to stay another year. I even considered leaving UMASS depending on offers since I signed a 2 year deal. But, the offers were a step down from my team. But, I didnt realize what I had in my team. I want the ability to have confidence when I recruit 4 and 5 star players. I have no confidence when I recruit 4 star players, sometimes even 3 stars. I cant compete with good schools.Comment

What was the Power Team that wanted you? and What team/Conference you want to go to after this year?

Missouri was the power team that offered, I also had one from Saint Louis from the A10, which is a conference I wouldn't mind going to and staying for a long time. Just wasn't ready to leave Vermont yet, not when I knew I simmed too much and didn't play enough games with my guys even though I knew we had a solid team built to make a run. We have great depth, especially when my 6th man is a 7'4" 302 lb lane clogging nightmare. It's almost like he dominates the second unit all by himself.Wolverines Wings Same Old Lions Tigers Pistons Erika ChristensenComment

A 7'4 Center? What was his recruit grade. Im satisfied/great getting a 7 footer. Just the size alone makes 7+ footers invaluable.Comment

Re: How is YOUR Career Legacy going?!?!
He was 7'2 when I recruited him and 3*, he's put on 20+ lbs and grew 2 inches since HS lol.
I still remember on ps2 when I first had this game my starting center with Providence was 7'3 and the backup up 7'6 !! 7'6" must be the limit because Kenny George is 7'7" on the original roster and he would go down to 7'6" after the first year.
It's a shame the game has so many behemoths, though, makes me overlook guys who are 6'8 or 6'9" and could easily start at center at the college level.Wolverines Wings Same Old Lions Tigers Pistons Erika ChristensenComment

But, I am currently going after a 4 star HS JR Center who is 6'7 199. Normally I wouldnt even think about that, but he has A POT. If I get him, If anything I will switch him to SF until he puts on 30+ pounds, then I will move him to PF.Comment

Re: How is YOUR Career Legacy going?!?!
I figured out how to do it. They gave my SG 34 minutes. I dont even use him like that. I decreased his and my PF(dont use him much) down and boosted some of my backups.Comment

Re: How is YOUR Career Legacy going?!?!
1-2 in my first season with Illinois. Just got blown out 58-87 at Maryland. Only shot 38 percent, while they shot 65%..ugh. i couldn't even hit layups and got blocked 7 times on putbacks. This is on all conference difficulty with no slider adjustments.

Re: How is YOUR Career Legacy going?!?!
We are ranked #9 after a 12-0 start heading into conference play after a ND game. Funny because we had a easy non-conference schedule. I dont touch schedules, I just leave them how they are because I dont like to waste time since I dont really have time to play every game. Only tough team we faced was Georgetown and I barely upset them. Sienna almost beat us, we were down 13 in the 2nd half, then I changed up scheme and won by 5. Alot of the games I simmed. But My schedule gets tougher. 5 of my 6 next games are against ND(#3), Richmond(twice), Temple(#21), Xavier(#18). I decided to change up my scheme alittle. I boosted Offensive Tempo to 50 from 30, Fast Break from 20 to 50, Run more 3-2 and 2-1-2 defenses instead of 1-2-2 Press.
My SR Center won Player of Week when I simmed the week. He had 36 points 6 RBs 3 blocks against Wofford.Last edited by illwill10; 11-03-2011, 10:13 PM.Comment

Re: How is YOUR Career Legacy going?!?!
Did well against Richmond because they ran a 2-3 defense. I am not afraid to chuck up 3s all game long. I dont have great 3pt shooters, but they are good enough to make them. But, I lost my starting PG for 3 weeks and Im entering tough part of schedule. MY Backup is a FR PG Jolly who has low confidence because he wants more time. He doesnt provide the same type of game that the starter Beeler does, hes fast but that is it. Beeler is a good defender(86) and occasional good shoot, and good in Fast Break.Comment

Re: How is YOUR Career Legacy going?!?!
1st game without Beeler(Pg) resulted in a blowout lost against Temple(2nd loss). Pyshically and Mentally changed our entire game. Interior defense was also terrible.
Next Game against Dequine(not sure, but matches up in Team OVr).
I am currently thinking about future. Unless we have a meltdown, I believe we can make it to the tourney and probably might make it to 2nd round(depending on matchup). Since we dont have any scholarships and only 1 SR, Our roster will look the same next year. The SR is my best player, but I feel very confident in his replacement who is a FR. I might lose my current backup FR PG who might transfer. I dont give much time he is fast, but raw. I wouldnt mind losing him. I will have a experienced team next year. But, I wont have much depth. The only position I will feel confident is at SG. Not having any scholarships this year will hurt us in the future. Next year, 3 out of 5 starters will be SRs and couple of bench players will be SRs. So the year after that, I will have a very young team. I have 2 recruits who are 100% interested in my team, but cant offer any scholarships. So, I am forced to scout for the future. I know I said that it would take a good team/conference to leave UMASS, but if I get a good enough roster I might consider it. The team would have to have good players I will inherit(dont want to have to start all over), good conference, ability to go after 4 and 5 star recruits. I have a B Coach rating. IF I am able to get 5 coach boost points, I might be able to boost it to B+ or A-. I will focus on Teaching and Charisma.Comment

Re: How is YOUR Career Legacy going?!?!
Did well against Duquesne. But loss against Richmond. I was ablevto get 10+ assists those two games with my Backup PG. My Centers played well in those two games. But, my Interior defense continues to struggle. Our main problem is 2nd chance points and easy shots in paint. We get our Starting PG Beeler back, but not before the big game against Xavier.
My main problem so far is going away from my gameplan. I dont stick with what is hot/rolling. My Inside/Pick N Roll game could be doing great, but then I start throwing up too many 3pters. I will open 3pt shooters, but the shots dont go down. My problem is trying to get everyone involved, instead of rolling with the hot hand.Comment

Re: How is YOUR Career Legacy going?!?!
Well, to update my Vermont legacy, I ended up winning in the final 4 against Ole Miss to take on Louisville in the championship game.
Trailed 38-37 at halftime in a pretty uneventful half other than it being back and forth all the way.
2nd half I fell behind by as much as 8 before turning up the pressure and going to the 1-2-1-1 press again, which worked as I got back in the game and eventually built a 7 point lead, 75-68.
However, I made the mistake of draining the clock instead of playing to my uptempo fast break style. Louisville closed to within 84-82 with 42 seconds left. I held the ball and continued to eat the clock, releasing a shot with under 10 seconds left in the game, an open 12 footer that clanked off the rim.
Louisville grabbed the rebound and quickly ran up the court to set up the last second shot. I could hear the timer ticking and it looked like they might not even get the shot off in time, when right before the buzzer they were able to release a three from the corner... that swished through to win 85-84. Heartbreaker... but it was a great run with Vermont.
I'm still excited to see what offers I get. There's a tiny tiny chance I will remain with Vermont, but I'm thinking it's time to move on.Wolverines Wings Same Old Lions Tigers Pistons Erika ChristensenComment

I think you will get good offers because when I made the Final Fours, I got my offer from UMASS. It was time to move to better things.Comment
