Just finished reading this entire thread for the second time (first time was a year ago when I picked up the game again after stupidly trading in my original copy)
Have to say just a quality thread all around, and a must read for anyone still playing this gem. so last year I grabbed the balanced playbook, some recommended sliders and roster (forget which ones) and proceeded to immerse myself as the new head coach of North Dakota State (chosen purely for the fact I love the movie Fargo)... good times!!!
So anyway, I'm about to start a new career legacy and have some questions. I'm more than happy with the sliders and playbook, but I'm keen to try a different roster file. I don't care at all if the players are real or random, but I would like the coaches to be named. The main reason though is to have some different teams available at the start of my new career. Any suggestions, or would I be better to just go back to the default roster, generate the player names and name the coaches myself?Comment

I read this thread a couple of years ago and created some custom playbooks for use in my legacies. They really do make things more enjoyable. I play all of my games in CPU vs CPU mode and using the correct custom playbooks really makes teams use their best scorers on offense.Once upon a time, I had a lovely signature. Then it died. I just picked this game up for ps3 and was wondering what camera angle everyone is using? I usually prefer 2k cam on the NBA games but when I use that on this game I get a lot of lag (frame rate drops) which drives me nuts.Comment

I have the same problem. Lately I go with High cam, even though it still has some issues when the ball is inbounded. A similar cam is the Wire angle, which is sort of like a slanted High cam, but doesn't have any lag imo. I play CPU vs. CPU and use TV Cycle 3. It does a pretty good job of making the games look like a TV Broadcast.
On the rare occasion that I do play a game, I use one of the Vertical Camera views with minimum zoon and max wideness. I can't deal with the side-on view when I am playing.Once upon a time, I had a lovely signature. Then it died. The end.Comment

After playing a bunch of games last night I have to say that I am not enjoying it as much as I had hoped. I am not sure why but the dribbling, constant lag, and for some reason the court feels to small for the players and is all just causing the fun factor to not be there. I see how great the legacy is and really want to get into it. I am a bit bummed as I have a real college hoops itch.
If you guys could give me some ideas on how to make my experience better with the game that would be great (maybe sliders, camera angels, and such).
Otherwise I remember loving 2k7 and may give that one a shot especially since its only $2 at gamestop.Comment
