I'd be shocked if you could change logos. From reading guys who have done hex editing with NCAA Football and All Pro Football, it seems like those cosmetic things are written on the disk.

So yeah, I can confirm there's no way to actually change conference member sizes or logos. So I'll just have to rename the conferences and change sizes.

I don't think that's a big deal anyway as logos are only seen in the "conferences" menu, would have been good to be able to change member sizes but we can still have a very accurate legacy with those new alignments.

one thing you could search for is audio ID for conferences, so that commentators would name the right conference (it's during tournaments only i think, so still no big deal)

While testing in legacy I discovered when you open up the conferences, it directs you to the previous one, same when you open up the rosters.

Just found out the same thing happens in the legacy I used to do the realignments, so that's just a bug 2k didn't fix. It's a pet peeve for me, but we'll have to look past it.

Also, but yeah if you were to use these in a quick game it doesn't change the conferences.

Will the ACC have 15 teams in it now?

              Re: Hex Editing Thread

Just messing around and found the classes
              Code:
              0100 - HSFR
              1100 - HSSO
              2200 - HSJR
              3200 - HSSR
              4200 - Freshman
              5200 - Soph
              6200 - Junior
              7200 - Senior
Potential recruit editing? Maybe if I actually understand how to match the names in the rosters to the name bank.

BTW, I finished re-naming the conferences as best as I could. I also finished writing down all of the conferences in the hex editor, I'll probably save editing the conference sizes tomorrow. Manu found out that using a roster with realigned conferences messes up the legacy around tourney time and there's a navigation bug with teams/conferences. So you'll have to manually realign conferences as usual.

I guess you could say this is still in beta. I'm still trying to figure out hex values and names, but if anyone just wants the re-named conferences and changed conference size; not caring about the potential coach edits, here you go: https://www.sendspace.com/file/9d1i5o (PS3)

PS: You have to re-align the conferences yourself.

                UPDATE:
I finally figured out how to find "reverse lookup" the hex values to the name bank! This is a HUGE! discovery. So I now have the ability to edit players/coaches without having to go back and forth with the usb!

All we need is someone that can program, and we can potentially have ourselves an editor!

Minor question amidst all this excitement - do you think you'd be able to unlock MSG as a selectable arena like it was pre-patch?

Also, not sure if this could be fixed - but one almost every white alternate uniform in the game had the teams wearing dark undershirts. Always bugged me. Any chance something like that could be fixed? Eg: UConn's white throwbacks have players wearing navy blue long sleeved shirts.

Funny you mention that, because I'm currently working on finding a way to unlock it.

Ok, I wasn't able to unlock the court. The id and stuff is still in game but it's blocked out, even when I assigned the court code to another court, it just made that court disappear. I believe it's hidden and hardcoded into the legacy mode. Since it's only available for the Coaches vs Cancer tournament, and I don't know if it's even possible to edit tournaments right now.

                      Re: Hex Editing Thread

What I plan on doing is redoing all of the coaches (power and major conferences) records and championships. I'm planning on changing the attributes, but only for the teaching one because I've heard that's the most crucial one affecting legacies. What would the general consensus be? B+ for all of them?

I am also going to swap the conferences info to fit the changes in the previous upload. I'm doing this so we get the rosters out of the way (not sure how many if you, if any at all were waiting on this or not) so I can continue finding other stuff.

Update with coaches, records. I going to set their records to what it was coming into this year, not the current ones. Also, it's minor/cosmetic but I thought it was cool to be able to add the accent mark in Jim Larrañaga's name. I didn't know there was even an hex code for it, even more impressed that you can add it in-game with no problems.

I've been in contact with KingJavo, the maker of the newer APF 2k8, Backbreaker, and NFL 2k4 editors. I've convinced him with my findings, to consider making a College Hoops 2k8 roster editor. If guys could join his site and vote for it, it would be extremely helpful. Once again, I'm not sure if I can do this but it's for a good cause.

As an editor noob, does one editor usually work with both PS3 and 360 files or does an editor have to be written for each console?

My guess is that it would have to be program so it can read either file. Like how the red mc has options to use .paramsfo and .ros file.
