    Re: Hex Editing Thread

If we could get someone on the xbox to try finding player, team, coaches offsets, that would be greatly appreciated. This is for helping out KingJavo.

    --------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Anyway, I discovered some more offsets on the ps3 side.
    A couple of teams.
    Code:
    Albany starts:
    0x001d8608 x 1213 (Name)
    0x001d8608 x 1617 (Abbreviation)
    0x001d8608 x 2021 (Alt name?)
    0x001d8608 x 2425 (Nickname)
    0x001d8624 x 01 (Hidden/Alt nickname ?)
    0x001d8774 x 89 (says N/A)
    0x001d8774 x 1213 (Midnight Maddness)

    002069BC x 2425 = start kentucky
    002069D8 x 2021 = Conference (SEC)
    002069F4 x 1617 = Head coach
    002069F4 x 2021 = Assistant 1
    002069F4 x 2425 = Assistant 2
    Arenas
    Code:
    Arenas/Courts start at: 0x001d5c94

Rupp Arena #257 (101) (If you look that the file in hex, you'll see that arenas are listed in along with numbers Rupp is 2.5.7. or 257, so in hex it's 101, so just go to the courts offset and it should be 2nd column, just scroll down until you see 101.)

    001d7894 x 1213
    001d7894 x 2627 (Team code)
    001d78b0 x 67 (Attentendance)
I know a lot of this is going to seem scattered and all over the place.

Here's the rest of the offsets I believe. The values at the beginning of the file also contain some things, but haven't looked into them. I believe jersey's are hard-coded into the game, not 100% sure though.

    Code:
classic teams/all-time teams offsets: 00177aec - 0018f4b4 (regular players seem
to be mixed in with this?)

001d3588 - not sure what this is

002247ec - idk what this is

    00315748 - first playbook, 003157B8 x 67 tenth (final) playbook

003157d4 - start of locations, cities

00318784 - start of name bank (First names)

    00326a5c (Last Names) ends at 00343760 x 89

    00343760 x 1213 to 00345948 - ???

00361d00 - start of players, coaches, team (if edited) pool (This and everything else below is all readable text)
The playbooks are all of the ones you can select plus the 2 created ones, if you have them. Not sure if they redirect from the teams area of the file.

      Re: Hex Editing Thread

I have no clue if this is possible with hex editing but I was wondering about a few playbook things.

      1. In coach mode (and probably in regular games too I've never really tried) when I use my custom playbook, sometimes I won't call a play and let the game decide the play. Every once in a while when I do this, the play chosen will be a play that was on the playbook that the legacy is preset to. For instance, if in my coach profile I have the Princeton playbook chosen, the game will call "Triple Cutters" to be run instead of one of the plays in my custom playbook. It's pretty annoying to watch the team run a totally different play that isn't even close to what I normally run. I mean I just end up calling one of my own plays but it's still kind of frustrating.

      2. Is there anyway to make more than 20 plays in the whole playbook? Is it possible to expand that to maybe 30? And in play designer, it only allows you to make 5 (I think 5?) of your own formations. Is there anyway to expand the number of formations as well?

      3. Is it possible in play designer to increase the number of steps in a play from 20 to maybe 25? There have been a lot of times where I am about 2 or 3 steps away from finishing the play and I hit the 20 step limit.

Sorry if any of this stuff has already been asked for. Also sorry if this is something obviously outside the capabilities of the hex editing thing either haha.

Great news/hope! This would get me over the hump to get another PS3 to play this game forever.

          Re: Hex Editing Thread

I'm going to aim for next Saturday to be when I finally release the updated version of Bpurc22's rosters. What's going to be included:
          - Re-named conferences
          - Changed Conference sizes
          - manustyle90's coaching sliders (tempo, def pressure, crash boards) (All schools)
          - Re-done Coaches (Records and championships) and more accurate/lowered ages. Younger coaches will have accurate ages, older coaches will probably be aged 59-60 if they are over those ages, so they stay around in legacy longer. This will only be done for Power/Major conferences.
          - Updated recruiting priorities. (All schools)

You'll have to do the re-alignments in legacy. The rosters are based off TheRosterMaker's re-alignment guide: https://docs.google.com/spreadsheets...it?usp=sharing

Can you edit assistant coaches ratings as well? Some schools like Duke for example have assistants that could be head coaches if they wanted.

Not sure if you can edit assistants. Even it you could, I wouldn't because they already progress naturally in the legacy mode when they become head coaches.

I was comparing the 2K8 PS2 and 2K8 PS3 saves in a hex editor, and while the PS2 version only saves the Roster itself, it seems to have some similarities in file structure for that portion of the PS3 save. It looks remarkably similar to the PS2 version of NFL2K5 save too. Granted, I'm a subnoob in hex editing so I may not know what I'm talking about too.

Could you send me the save? I wonder if I can port the updated rosters to it.

its not encrypted. you just need PS2 Save Builder 0.80x to unpackage it from the max file.

I got my hands on choops 2k7 for the ps2, and was finally able to figure out saves, etc I don't think it's possible to convert this years rosters into the ps2 version of the 2k7 or 2k8. I copied the name bank and where the players start in the hex, and the file size was significantly bigger. I also noticed that the ps2 version is missing a few attributes.

Oh, well thanks for looking! I wished we had a generic 2ksports editor like we do for the EA Sports games so that we could edit these databases cross-platform.

Here's the updated rosters with the records, championships, etc re-done. I also fixed the issue with the created teams. And added a txt file for xbox users who may possibly want to do this for their rosters. Credit goes to Bpurc22 as these are his rosters, and I just edited them.

Also, I had to rename/edit some coaches from some smaller/major schools because they were still at their previous schools. I fixed a few, so beware and let me know if they're any duplicates, and if I made any errors.

For the coach records you're suppose to search the default coaches record (in hex) and replace with the new record. You have to assign a hotkey and use paste special in order to paste from notepad into whatever hex editor you're using. Never mind the ages also, you can do that in game.
