If it was priority, I'd go for Ron first, then Sheed then Ariza

I ain't trusting a word Artest says or is supposedly saying from his Twitter until I hear words come out of his mouth himself.

And isn't that Windhurst dude the same one that said CV would be a Cav by the end of the week?

He said he thought that, and this was well before the Boozer not opting out.

Windhorst is one of the best beat writers in the NBA. There is a reason he is used by a majority of the major networks.

he'll be on the radio tonight so you can listen to him

I really dont think he'll be back in HOU

If anyone is interested, Ron should be on around 9:30 PST to talk many things. I'm sure the NBA might just come up.

Artest would be a perfect fit on the Raps if DeRozan turns out any good. I wouldn't pay Turk or Ariza big money.

                    Agree.

I would still take Ariza over Sheed though...especially after watching the kid step up in big spots this year. Sheed is what we need on paper as a stretch PF (the new buzzword, lol) but dude is a little too volatile, and we're already going to have enough ego too deal with. We need some pros to fill out the roster.

That's exactly what I meant but yeah I think Sheed just needs someone he can't pushover after playing for LB... other than that his attitude is worse than Derric Coleman's was

Sign Rasheed and S&T Andy for Artest and just wait for the ticking timebomb to go off

Totally don't understand the appeal of Rasheediot. Yeah, he's a benefit because he can stretch out to the 3 point line....until he hits one early in the game and just camps out there. People overrate his defense, too. If the Cavs bring him in as someone to match up against Howard in the playoffs...really? If that happens, it will have been two years since he faced Howard in the playoffs. Two years with Rasheed on the decline and Howard on the rise. Howard will eat him alive and get him ejected. And Garnett exposed him in last year's ECF as being completely done as a P&R defender.

As for all the other stuff, well....yeah. He will drag your team into the gutter. He will poison the minds of all those around him. A dominating leader like LeBron won't motivate him to post up. A veteran HOFer like Shaq won't contain his outbursts. In the end, he will let you down when you need him to come through.

The fact that Psy has been saying this for about the past two years pretty much confirms to me that I want no part in Sheed. I'm not sure why Boston or Orlando want him either.

Rasheed needs to go to SA, hits some threes and call it a career.

Agent says priority still forward's return to Houston

By JONATHAN FEIGEN Copyright 2009 Houston Chronicle

                                July 1, 2009, 10:51PM

While the Rockets made their pursuit of a center their top free agent priority, Ron Artest seemed ready to move on when a message appeared on Twitter late Wednesday attributed to him.
The message — "THANKS A LOT HOUSTON I HAD A LOT OF FUN." — seemed to indicate that Artest had chosen to sign elsewhere. The Rockets, however, were given an indication that Artest did not write the message.
Artest’s agent David Bauman had said that returning to Houston was Artest’s top choice and that he did not expect or request a late Tuesday meeting when the free agent period was ready to begin.
The Rockets, however, had made their pursuit of Orlando center Marcin Gortat their top priority.
Artest averaged 17.1 points on 40.1 percent shooting , 5.2 rebounds and 3.3 assists last season, initially coming off the bench when Tracy McGrady and Shane Battier were healthy but then picking up an increasingly important role throughout the season after McGrady was unable to come back from his knee problems.
The Rockets had traded last season’s first round pick, Donte’ Greene, and this season’s first-round selection to get Artest.
