Check me out...Mo is an average at best defender on his good days, lol. He hustles, and hes trying damn hard, and I give him major props for that...but like Boobie hes too slight to do what Mike Brown calls "making your man feel you", make your guy feel your presense at all times with constant contact or just sticking your hand in there...never let them relax. Mo gets warded off with little effort in the no handcheck era, and while Boobie has oustanding defensive footwork, he's even less physically imposing. Notice how Anthony Johnson was fryng those dudes in a light butter sauce in the ECF.

Move Red to the PG, and you lose nothing defensively as long as AI gives effort. He can't be much worse than Mo, and we now that have an intimidator under the hoop in Shaq, as Ben was before the injuries, it should help with penetration. Bron likes to hang back in the 1st q anyway...so the Cavs can come out with 3 guys who can create off the dribble causing havok and AI can fire at will and be himself as long as he's shooting at a decent clip.

Its a molotov for sure, but if handled correctly, we could be ridiculous...

    And he's freaking FREE!

But don't you feel that LeBron and A.I.'s style of play are counter productive to each other? We saw how Denver's offense was with and without A.I.

And I don't think they are saying that A.I. is going to hurt your defense. But, that you can get somebody who may IMPROVE your defense.

Thats the rub. This would be a huge gamble. I only propose it because AI is getting nothing but a lousy vet minimum offer, and can be had for literal scraps. There are only a handful of egos AI couldn't trample...and we have two of them. Its not his diminished skills, its his attitude that concerns teams. If we can get him with a good asttitude, we would still get a very very good offensive player.

Jesus, another Cavaliers fan who wants AI?

These people have been all over Cleveland...people saying AI is better than Mo and some ISH like that.

I want no part of a selfish, inefficient player like AI.

Exactly. Your posts in the Pistons thread prove where your allegiances are. When they traded for Iverson, you became a Pistons "fan." And then when they flamed out, it was their fault for trying to ruin him.

You're no different than the Randy Moss slappies in the NFL forum, and the Barry Bonds slappies in the baseball forum. Iverson can do no wrong. A tape could be released in high freaking definition of Iverson tripping an old lady in the street while holding his driver's license and some scientists nearby taking DNA samples verifying that it's AI...and you'd say the old lady should've been watching where she was going.

Face it. The Canswer doesn't give a **** about winning, he doesn't give a **** about being on a "team." He cares about his minutes, his touches, his looks, his PPG. He disgraced the #1 jersey in Detroit that Chauncey Billups wore for years, and at the same time it was perfect for him, because that's who Allen Iverson looks out for above all else: Number one.

I have hatred in my heart for Rasheed Wallace...but at least he put his psychotic tendencies aside enough to win a title before going off the rails. Your boy Iverson is one of the most selfish players to ever set foot on a basketball court. Period.

We struggled in the the ECF because we couldn't find consistent offense from anyone but LeBon in the 4th quarters. With all the mismatch talk, these games came down to making plays in crunchtime. Shaq and his poor FT shooting don't help that. Mo can't consistently penetrate and finish so he was relegated to jumpshots in tight situations without the benefit of the confidence a big shooter gets from knowing he can get his shot off...Z was useless, Delonte isn't a natural born scorer and can only finish with his left, and Andy can only eat the scraps that fall off Brons table. Allen Iverson is exactly what we need to prevent teams form selling out on Bron, and we despearetly need someone who can get to the cup and get a foul called. Funny, people were saying the same thing about Mo in MIL. Funny how things change...

In his three years in DEN, dude averaged more points than Mo, more assists than Mo, had a better assist-to-TO rate than Mo, and last I checked, can actually penetrate and get a clutch basket. At his peak, he and Maurice Williams weren't even on the same plane of existence...now that hes slowed, they are about equal. You don't want a another player as good as Mo on the team, lol?

DET had a freaking pitiful coach and gutted their season by ditching their lynchpin player. That was a uniquely bad situation and a complete throwaway year for both the player, and the organization...

AI is a better passer and ball handler than Mo. Mo is a much better shooter and defender. AI takes the cake on ego. Mo was also stuck in a horrible position at that point of his career and has shown the ability to put team first. AI has never done anything to prove he isn't all about himself.

AI is something I want no part of.

To say one factor like a PnR is what beat us is just plain stupid. Their PnR hurt us. Howards speed hurt us. Our bench playing like a highschool JV team hurt us. Mo playing like donkey testicles hurt us. Shard shooting like clutch daggers like Robbert Horry hurt us. And through all that, we still had an opportunity in every game...an oportunity that we routinely wasted on Bron dribbling at the top for 15 seconds and then plunging into a choked up lane because no one elese could do anything on their freaking own.

If we can get AI for less than we pay Tarrance Kinsey, knowing we have a locker room that won't allow AI's character to define us, and needing a clutch scorer besides LeBron BADLY, why would you let him go to a conference rival for the veteran minimum?

AI will not come off the bench and cannot start over either Mo or Delonte. He's undersized, he's a volume shooter, he plays no defense and he's got a bad attitude. He would be a stupid signing for the Cavaliers. End of discussion.

IMO, it wasn't the offense that was bad. You guys were fine there, and nobody brought up anything the ENTIRE season about how LeBron needs help until you guys faced the Magic.

But against the Magic the Cavs offense was fine. You guys scored 89+ in every game. The Cavs hit 100 in 3 out of the 6 meetings. The team averaged 100+ on the season and ranked 6th in FG%. The Cavs were 4th in Offensive Efficiency among playoff teams. So offense wasn't a problem.

It was the defense that was POOR. Very poor. They couldn't stop the Magic at all. Which is why I don't think this would be a good move.

At least with SHAQ, LeBron can take possessions off until the fourth with the ball going through the big man. Then he'll be a little more fresh come crunch time.

AI will not come off the bench and cannot start over either Mo or Delonte. He's undersized, he's a volume shooter, he plays no defense and he's got a bad attitude. He would be a stupid signing for the Cavaliers. End of discussion.
                                End of discussion? LMFAO.

Cliches. Thats all you got...The only one being relevant is the attitude. He's always been undersized, and has still been a league MVP and one of the best players in the league. His scoring efficiency is decent...I want to hear case that 23 ppg on close to 46% shooting is volume scoring, lol? Bad year in DET is the book on AI? And Maurice Williams is a mediocre defender, man. Flat out. At least AI can pressue the ball when he wants to.

Not saying AI is our missing link. But considering value and the fact that you are somewhat insulated from some of his problems, this would not be a bad signing. We wouldn't even be touching the MLE...
