AI would need Kobe and Shaq, Duncan, Manu, and Parker, etc. Plus, outside of Kobe, Shaq, and Duncan, I would say the same thing about Manu, Parker, the Pistons, and the Celtics. I don't think any of those guys are #1 players on a championship team.

BTW how did Philly make it to the finals?

The Eastern Conference was abysmal that year.

Show me when Billups' whole starting 5 made the All-Star team. Tayshaun never made an All-Star team.

Philly made it to the finals because after Jordan retired, the East was completely full of mediocre teams just stepping up to the plate to get struck out by the Lakers or Spurs. Ironically, the team to dethrone the West was the Billups led Pistons.

**** the haters, philly was the only team to take a game off the lakers in the 2001 postseason, and if you actually watched the series you'll see 2 or 3 of the other games could of gone philly's way but the shots just weren't dropping. You can argue the east was **** that year blah blah blah fact of the matter is the ai led sixers did better than any other western team that season against the champion lakers (an amazing team) and you coudl infer that makes them compeitive with the best of the west that years

Anyways ai gets an unfair rap far too often, tell me which mvp caliber player he's played with in his career? What dominating big man (man if he had one awesome center would have been mayhem)? Have a close look at that 01 roster, and tell me the guy can't make a team better, then have a look at the trashy rosters he almost single handedly dragged to the playoffs 6 years with the sixers (thats 6 out of 10 years which include his rookie and sophmore teams), they were injury prone and real bad. Dont give me that denver was better without him bs, denver was always going to be better last year considering they got rid of camby (he was not a good 1 on 1 defender just a weak side guy which encouraged weak perimeter d), nene got healthy, signed chris andersen and dhantay, actually took a defensive approach in practice (took your time on that one karl) and melo started actually rebounding and playing aggressively (which he should have been from day 1). Yes billups was prob still the better fit but with ai i could have still seen that team doing better.

Detroit was a debacle, just not a very good team on the whole, not built correctly for a penetrating guard like ai, also no 3 point shooters at all. So i think largely circumstances cause unfair finger pointing at ai, the guy has always given 110% in any game for any team that suited him up over the years. So yeh.
