Re: Iverson wants to go to Memphis?

I feel bad for AI. He is such a good competitor but no one wants to take a chance on this guy.

And I just can't see Iverson the "role" player. He just can't do it. Dude needs he ball in his hands to score, and he needs to shoot a ton.

It would be a great story though if he "got it" and became a top 5 or 6 PG in the league for the last few years of his career. You know he has the handle, speed, and vision to do it....

Does anyone agree with me that AI should retire? If no contender wants him he isn't gonna win a championship. I would think, at his age, that would be all that matters to him. What he should do is talk to Pop and say I wanna play for you I'll do whatever you want. Unfortunately we all know that will never happen.

I disagree, I don't think he should retire. I think he should play for whatever team he wants until he can't play anymore or teams won't sign him

Maybe. I'm sure he doesn't want to go out after that Pistons mess.

I've read this thread and interviews. He can say whatever he wants, but I'm not buying it until it happens. If he goes to the Clips then all that is bs. I agree with you about the Heat. They need to make some move to make Wade happy.

What player doesn't need the ball in they're hands to score? No ball= No scoring opportunnites. The last season in Denver when he averaged 26.5 on 19 shots was on par with Kobe,Wade, and Lebron except they shot more.

                        Lebron 21 FGA 28 points

                        D Wade 22 FGA 29 points

                        Kobe 20 FGA 27 points

                        Iverson 19 FGA 26.5 points

So what Top NBA scorer doesn't shoot the ball alot? It's they're jobs.

Except LeBron, Wade and Kobe all bring something else to the table other than scoring, unlike Iverson.

Well obviously teams don't want Iverson to do that for them, otherwise he would be signed by now.

Iverson led teams dont win championships, and it stunts the growth of younger players.

He needs to adapt or retire IMHO.

wow man you're still defending this guy yet all you see are bottom dwellers considering him for a year, and they dont even want much of it.

That should tell you something. I dont hate AI by any stretch, but he needs to get it together. He has one of the best braintypes in sports yet refuses to use it to his advantage.

                                Good job OSUfan,
I'm so tempted to start a topic, so everyone can name all the players in the league who are effective without the ball in their hands. Because I literally have no idea what that means.

Are players that can't create their own shot and players who are effective without the ball the same thing? Because they get bashed pretty bad for that as well. I need answers OS!!!
