Ron I don't see him doing too much running or too much moving around without the ball.

Other than that Ron is going to accept a toned down role offensively and I don't foresee him not making the right passes at the right times.
Yes I am going to miss Ariza's activeness.

I don't know what you guys are smoking that think it's an automatic championship for the Lakers, I think the Spurs can still battle them if healthy, and same for the Celtics even more so. If it's another Celtics/Lakers final and both teams are healthy it will be an all out war and impossible to say for certainty who would take it.

But yes it does make their chances of repeating much greater.

I don't think anyone thinks it's an "automatic championship" for the Lakers, but they will be huge favorites going into the year and with good reason

I probably shouldn't say this...as a Laker fan...but injuries are my biggest worry. Other than Bynum, the Lakers didn't lose any of their key 4 players last year for any extended time. An injury to Kobe or Pau and it's a dog fight.

I'm going to silently pray that nothing really bad happens.

If they stay healthy, I agree. The Lakers "should' be in the finals next season.

I hope all the "book it" posts were made in jest.

LA looked damn mortal through a lot of the playoffs and all the way into the Finals. Albeit Andrew was coming back from injury..

They're still very beatable in every sense even with an all healthy squad.

ORL should be kicking in their sleep tonight after not going up 3-1

I guess I'm the only one that thinks that the Lakers and the Spurs were the only two contenders that actually improved this summer. In the short term, I think Artest is an upgrade of Ariza and the Lakers kept everyone else from the championship team. The Spurs added a great swingman in Jefferson and two workhorses in Blair and McDyess.

The Celtics added a decent backup in Wallace but not much else. The Magic gained Carter but lost Hedu so thats a wash. I dont think that the addition of Shaq is going to get the Cavs past the C's or Orl.

decent backup in wallace? since when is Rasheed Wallace the equivalent of Marcin Gortat?

Did you watch him play last year? LOL. This isnt the Wallace from 2002 or even 2007. He clearly lost a step last year. I dont see him as more than a decent backup for the C's. He isnt going to start over Perkins. Having a healthy season out of the big 3 will help the C's more than Wallace.

The Celtics had the East's best record again before Garnett went down. They were tied with the Lakers in wins at that time as well, but had two more losses.

With KG being healthy, and the addition of Daniels and Sheed off of the bench, the Celtics should be at the top of the league again.

They are a year older too. I dont know how long people can expect the Big 3 to play at a top level when they are all mid 30's or above.

But did any of them give you the impression that they can't play at a top level last year? I didn't see anything of the sort.

Not only that, but if Rondo continues his rise as one of the league's best point guards and they re-sign BBD, those guys should be able to pick up any slack "if" the big 3 begin to falter.

I don't see any reason why their team defense should fall off at all, and that's what they hang their hats on.

Allen did at times and Pierce looked old in the playoffs (he played a ridiculous amount of minutes though). Coming back from knee surgery isnt exactly easy. I'm not saying that they wont be a top 2-3 team. I'll just say that they dont scare me like they did at the beginning of last season even with their additions.
