Come on man, those guys day the game was about the game of basketball, not about some freaking WWE personality. You guys are right where David Stern has led you...right into the entertainment part of this and not about the game itself.
I have no problem with people loving Jordan or think anybody should think less of him, BUT people are trying to condemn LeBron and praise Jordan based on personalities and IMO Jordan is worse by comparison.

I fail to realize what LeBron did to the game. Isn't it all about winning?

I'm not so sure what you're getting at with the whole MJ and being real thing.

He was as vanilla as Tiger Woods is today.

His personality was as boring as possible. Space Jam? Hanes commercials? One common theme is that he was a terrible personality in both.

I can't believe that I have done a total 180 on my feelings toward Lebron. I actually hope that Lebron and the Heat beat the **** out of Dirk and the Mavs.

        Maybe i've gone heel too.

I'm saying when he laughs and smiles, you can tell he's genuinely happy, whereas LeBron just looks fake all the time. I think Tiger's a pretty charismatic person too. I don't think either of them are boring at all. When they show emotion, it comes off as real emotion. All the faces and poses that LeBron makes just looks fake. Like I don't know when he started doing these awkward teenage girl MySpace poses, but when you see him do stuff like that and like just standing there for over 30 seconds after he makes a shot, it's like one of those "wow... did he really just do that?" kind of moments, whereas when Tiger fistpumps after a huge putt or Michael cried while he held the championship trophy, you could really tell how much emotion they've invested into what they do. That's the way I feel about them anyway.

            I see.

Well I won't debate it any further, but in my view most athletes are frontin and especially the star ones.

I don't personally understand how someone can split hairs and say one is faker than the other, haha, it's silly to me.

Anyway, I think when we're breaking down smiles, faces, poses etc. etc. I mean I think that's pretty silly.

After I read that it killed the discussion for me. Clearly everybody is entitled to their own opinion, but that explanation was a huge stretch for me.

Well that's part of what I hate about him. The things that he says and does just make him come off as a fake, superficial, douchebag to me. I probably wouldn't have liked MJ when he was playing either had I known all the stuff that he did outside of the public eye and I don't care enough about golf to hate Tiger for cheating on his wife, but in Jordan's case, at the time, for all I knew, he had never really done anything wrong and he just came off as a person with a funny, warm personality that turned into an intense killer on the court. LeBron doesn't really do any of that for me, regardless of the fact that he's hands down the best player in the game today. So while I respect his game and admit that he's the best player in the league, I just can't like a guy like him.

And for what it's worth, most of the people that hated LeBron before the Decision say that they feel pretty much the same way, so I really don't see why it's so silly to not like the guy's fake personality.

I'll just comment on your last point about the Decision.

For me, I separate the Decision with what happens on the court and also separate the Decision from what he does here and now.

That was a mistake on his part, but I really am not gonna hold him hostage for the rest of his career and always look back to it and say "well he's fake, he's always been since the Decision".

I mean that was WWE, but that was a completely different situation and different from the things he does today. I can't see the correlation. Basically I don't think that just because you do something "fake" or WWE one day, that means you're automatically fake all the time going forward.

No no no, you got me all wrong. I hated LeBron before the Decision. That last part that I said I meant that most of the people that hated him beforehand like me say the same thing, so it's not like my line of thinking is way out there or anything like that.

The Decision is not why I hate LeBron. It just sort of cemented my hatred for him.

99% of the things LeBron says and does is fabricated or fake. It's too bad, during the middle of the year I thought he was going to go full on himself then he reigned it back in and because fake LeBron again.

                              Re: The LeBron James Thread

Are people still really trying to figure out why Jordan get's love and LeBron doesn't? Everybody here has shown themselves to be fairly intelligent people, this shouldn't be this hard.

                              1) The internet wasn't available to everyone from rich bastards, to your baby brother all the way to your grandma. That's head and shoulders the first and biggest reason of them all.

                              2) Jordan was never stupid enough to tell anyone that his goal was to be a billionaire. Jordan never called himself the greatess, he never called himself the Chosen One or any other stupid **** like that. Whether it was the case or not, he made sure that people knew that his main focus was winning. There was never ANY question whatsoever if Michael Jordan's focus was winning. LeBron? Not so much. LeBron let people know that he was trying to be a billionaire and he's always given off the vibe that winning is an afterthought to him and it's only function is to help him get to that billionaire's goal of his.

                              3) LeBron's hate didn't exactly start from The Decision. LeBron started turning people against him while in Cleveland, first when he refused to shake hands with the Magic after losing. The Detroit Pistons can tell you that things like that piss people off. LeBron's dancing up and down the sideline got him lots of criticism. I know we wanna paint a different picture now as if it didn't to make our point, but people got on LeBron's *** for that. His love was still high at that point so it didn't get out of control. The elbow and subsequent quitting in the playoffs brought the hatred more out of him and the summer free agency tour was the icing on the cake. Learning about his boys that had free reign on the Cavs and how cutting them off possibly played a role in his 'decision,' all of that played a part so I don't get why people are acting like LeBron just started getting hate for no reason and he's no different than Michael Jordan.

I'm sure there's more, but I've typed enough on this for now.
