These comparisons are such a uniquely NBA phenomenon. We don't see these kind of constant comparisons to the past in any other major sport.

Well, Maradona x Messi comes up in football discussions.

But I guess one of the main reasons for this is the fact the NBA markets the players a lot more than the teams.

All I know is this, I can name 10things Jordan does better than LeBron and 10things LeBron does better than Jordan..

Are you going to use stats and everything else to name them or are you still going by the great eye test?

Either way, name them for both.

But as far as which of them is a better player, I'll be iffy on that until the day I die because obviously they will never get the chance to play each other. And that's really the only way to be certain.

Why would you be iffy on it if you just acknowledged Jordan is the GOAT? A bit confused by that one.

See when I see people say "nowhere close" I think it's a huge overrate to Jordan and a huge underrate to LeBron. But that's just me.

What does being from Chicago have anything to do with it? Things like this are usually said, when you have run out of context in an argument.

Really the only demographic that seems to be relevant here is age. This discussion carrying on this long seems to be more of a testament to the youth on this board rather than where one lives...

What are the chances of the Heat to 3 peat? I just saw that only 4 teams have done it. I also love how Pat Riley said who would have broken up the Heat if they lost the finals this year.

Because again, it's just measuring accomplishments as if that is the only barometer to rate a player against MJ, which I'm assuming is the reason that image was created.

No, it's simply showing the accomplishments of one as opposed to the other, anything else is you projecting implications on the image which have not been implicitly stated by its creator. Something that is unbiased and 100% accurate can't be "stupid". The only thing "stupid" is your irrational aversion to it.

I think the purpose is implied.

What other reason would the image have been created other than to fuel comparison? Did I miss the last 5 pages of discussion where all we were doing were pitting these two against each other? This must be the only place that happens in the world and this image is pure coincidence lol

There you go again. Tracking accomplishments of one vs. the other is not "fuel" for comparison. Show me where the creator of this chart said "here's some fuel, have at it." Show me anywhere on it where a bias is established in favor of either player. Furthermore you've conveniently omitted the part of your argument where you imply that it was made as the sole means for comparing two players; where on the chart does it say that? If the chart is so "stupid" show me anything on it within its scope that's inaccurate; I'll wait.
