Allen Iverson talk...? I kind of wish he would join the Heat. Their conditioning program is awesome. Would of put at least 3 more years on his career. Could of been so much more better.

The Heat's conditioning program is awesome? Where'd you get that (never heard that before)? I hope Shaq isn't proof of that.

If AI wanted to be in the NBA he would be. He had a chance, but thought he was too good to be a back-up and come off the bench. I say **** him. Don't feel sorry for him at all. I never feel sorry for people with self inflicted wounds.

He was a great player but not a winner. Honestly he should have never been the guy.. in another breath he could have been a Chris Paul type and it would have made him a better and his teams more successful.
I know you can't be serious with that comment. He carried a group of 6th men to an NBA final. He is the only superstar, that I can recall, that didn't use lack of team talent as a crutch. The guy is no doubt a winner he's just not a leader.

Well, you can say LeBron....I;m not even sure the guys he had were 6th men. At one point, Boobie Gibson was starting, and I swear Sasha Pavlovic was an important part of the rotation. Ilgauskas was almost the second scoring option .

But seriously, AI had Aaron McKie at the 2 and Eric Snow backing him up. That right there should tell you he made something out of nothing. I don't even know the other guys he played with, but I know I hated those two guys when I played NBA Live.

He said the only player "that didn't use lack of team talent as a crutch." Lebron's move to Miami was for that exact reason.

He played all of the important years of his career with the Sixers. If he had left them in his prime they would've been a train wreck. Not sure I could say they got better when he left even at his old age.

Im not saying he should have left.. he should have co-existed.. and not being so erratic when it came to the dealings with the organization. Towards the end he stifled the sixers.. with a young upcoming squad.. he was just a mini melo on Denver.. the best team he ever played on.. he never changed his game.. thats the thing.. and memphis also got better as he left..

Has Iverson ever come out and said he would want to be a mentor to a young point guard and back them up or something like that? I don't think he could accept a backup role, which at this point, that's all he would be. What good is an older Iverson with less speed and a poor attitude?

Im very serious.. he stiffed armed and stifled the talent when he had it..

You said every team he left got better... but he didn't leave any team until he was already a shell of himself. If he had left the 6ers in his prime they would've been a train wreck so the point doesn't really make sense.

Just like saying he wasn't a winner... doesn't make sense. There are plenty of negative points about AI being made that are valid, but that doesn't mean everything is/was bad. Whatever the reason the team was built the way it was, they were a contender and went to the finals once. Gotta compartmentalize the evaluation.

BTW, there are plenty of people here that aren't young cats... and plenty of young cats here know their history. Don't generalize.

Can't remember exactly but I vaguely recall him NOT wanting to do that at all in memphis which is one reason they wanted him.

Yeah I don't exactly remember the whole Memphis situation, except that I think his daughter was sick and his divorce was going on so he basically abandoned ship. That whole situation seemed off from day 1. Has he played any organized ball since playing in Turkey? I hear more about Stephon Marbury than A.I. lol.
