Re: Could Dwight Be Playing Somewhere Else Next Season?
Serious question: any quotes directly from Dwight about where he will/won't play?
Or are all these from "sources close to the situation"
Just confused because we went from the Lakers on Dwight's "list" to he doesn't want to play with Kobe....Comment
-
Only thing I've ever seen is his list had 4 teams wasn't aware he listed his reasons why he wouldn't play elsewhere.

Re: Could Dwight Be Playing Somewhere Else Next Season?
He hasn't or should I say people close to him haven't gave any reasons to why he wouldn't play anywhere. All we have heard was that he might not want to go to LA because he didn't want to follow the same career path as Shaq. There are no quotes out there about not wanting to play for or not play with anybody.Comment

Seems silly to say Dwight wouldn't go to Chicago and play with Rose because of "spotlight" issues then.

I remember hearing about that whole Adidas / Nike reason. It could be as you said, his agent or reps or something along those lines. Maybe not him thinking that.Comment

Re: Could Dwight Be Playing Somewhere Else Next Season?
I probably shouldn't say it as if it's a one hundred percent fact, however I can connect the dots fairly well. If you want to win and that's what you care about then why would any one of the top two teams in either conference not be on your list of destinations? We can say he's never specifically said in public who he would or wouldn't play for, but we know the list he gave to the Magic as confirmed by the Magic. If I'm the Bulls or Celtics or Thunder or anybody, why would I even bother picking up the phone to call the Magic if the guy has his list and I'm not on it? That list discourages teams from even screwing with their chemistry by even attempting to try to look about getting him because he's given the implication he won't sign an extension with them. I think it's a mix of things. He wants a team that he can be THE star on, he does want to win and he wants to be in a big market. I know we shouldn't believe everything we read and all that, but there's entirely too much stuff that fits what we're witnessing for it to simply be a coincedence that the sports writers finally got something right.Comment

Basically LA, Dallas and NJ were the only teams Orlando gave his Agent permission to speak to about any trade.#RespectTheCultureComment

Re: Could Dwight Be Playing Somewhere Else Next Season?
King B you really can't say those are his reasons without doubt. Taking the Bulls out for a second there is no reason for him to go to those teams you mentioned. OKC doesn't have the money to just sign him(they are already over the cap) and any trade to get him would have to include Westbrook. That is not a team that would be considered championship level. He might as well stay before going with a trade there. He would have the same reason as CP3 to not go to the Celtics. We have no idea what the team will look like after this year so there is no real point to signing for at least 5 years there without knowing what would be around you. Not to mention again any trade to get him there would have to include Rondo so again we are looking at a weak team.
Now to us the Bulls. Nobody really know if Dwight said he wouldn't come here or not. What we do know is Otis smith says he doesn't want Noah. So without Noah involved there is no deal we can put together that will please the magic. So giving that there is no deal that really could be made why would Otis even give Dwight's agent the go ahead to talk to us?? The only possible option we could try would be a three team deal but I don't see any team giving up pieces to help us put the best big man on the planet with Rose and all they get is Noah and scraps from the magic roster.Comment

Re: Could Dwight Be Playing Somewhere Else Next Season?
"Reasons that he doesn't want to share the spotlight with Kobe" LOL Howard said the player he would like to play in his team would be Kobe, so I strongly disagree about that one. He would be a great fit for the Lakers, he doesn't need to score 30 like Shaq did years ago. He can rebound, block shots and pretty much do everything on defense, and he would score 21's every game with the Lakers I'm pretty sure.
Aside from all this. I'm happy with Bynum's perfomance till now, so let's wait and see if anything happens. And why would the Magic want Boozer on his 30's. They would get a better deal from the Lakers with Gasol and Bynum ( If healthy )Hope is lost. Faith is broken. A fire will rise.Comment

Re: Could Dwight Be Playing Somewhere Else Next Season?
I can't figure this guy out. He doesn't put the bulls on his list because of sharing the spotlight, but he's willing to join up with Kobe and follow in Shaq's footsteps to LA. He says he wants to be traded, then he doesn't. Then he says he wants Orlando to change their culture. ????"My body could stand the crutches but my mind couldn't stand the sideline"- Michael JordanComment
