Re: Could Dwight Be Playing Somewhere Else Next Season?
Man if I know I'm losing Dwight and you offer me Blake I do it. I do it again. I do it blindfolded. I do it with apple sauce. You don't pass on a (not even in his prime and still raw) 20/10 guy who is still on his Rookie contract.Comment

Re: Could Dwight Be Playing Somewhere Else Next Season?
True. BUT if your talking about trading straight up, your definitely getting the better player in Howard. Blake might have the better stats BUT Howard impacts the game much more than Blake.I have more respect for a man who let's me know where he stands, even if he's wrong. Re: Could Dwight Be Playing Somewhere Else Next Season?
I doubt it could be a straight up trade, but as the main piece im saying
I don't think the Clips should destroy their team for Dwight unless they have some plan for near future to build around howard and paul immediately in free agency and so on, because it would definitely be a move for the future going forward
Even the other LA team will eventually have to think about that as wellComment

Re: Could Dwight Be Playing Somewhere Else Next Season?
Of course. But the fact is the guy is walking out the door come the end of the season. Every other team knows that, so if you as the Magic GM were to be offered Blake for Dwight, you take that in a heartbeat. It's the best you're going to get offered.
Every other team either doesn't have an asset that valuable or just doesn't want to give it up because either a) they're scared to give up too much value for a guy that might play only half a season for them or b) they can just make a play for him in free agency without having to give up Valuable Asset X.Originally posted by bradtxmaleI like 6 inches. Re: Could Dwight Be Playing Somewhere Else Next Season?
Dwight needs to work on his counter moves
He looks confident in what direction he wants to go, maybe even a spot, but he has no counter moves at all, and so he still looks mechanical at times
Its nothing wrong with having a go to move... running hook shot if its unstoppable ala Kareem, MJ fadeaway, etc...
Its just that with him, it seems like thats almost the only option he has, and thats where there is a problem. Guy needs to seriously work on that back down game, and some counter moves.... looks like he's lugging his upper body across the court at times when he's trying to make moves
Nah he's not Akeem and doesn't need to be, but he needs some more versatility in the worst wayComment

A lot of it may be that he relies almost too much on his athleticism. He should definitely start working more on some of the things you mentioned. It would add immensely to his longevity in the league. Once he ages, he's definitely not going to rely on his game in its current incarnation.
I like his game a ton but I also think a lot of what you said rings absolutely true.Comment

Re: Could Dwight Be Playing Somewhere Else Next Season?
That's been the scratch in Dwight's game for years. His post move arsenal is more like a small closet with a few fancy blazers. Guys an athletic freak and it gets him by, as well as having natural instincts, but the post moves are far from refined.
I think in the current role that he's in, as the only #1 guy on that team with some rough pieces around him (my apologies Ryan Anderson, I know you're having a great year), he would definitely need to add to his post game in order to carry his team. In a different role where the scoring and general load doesn't necessarily need to be on his shoulders all game, every game, his athleticism and small bag of tricks could get the job done.
He's still young and just stepping into his prime, but I feel like I've said that the last 3 years straight.Follow me on Twitter@DrewGarrisonSBNComment
