If this kids can follow through on his words, I can definitely see the light at the end of the tunnel for the Bulls. He'll be our starting 2-guard for years to come. He's saying all the right things BUT talk is just that....talk. Let's see if this kid follows through.

I like Butler but he's def not a 2-guard."You make your name in the regular season, and your fame in the postseason." - Clyde Frazier

But Sactown has Thornton, and now they'll be moving Reke to the 2 so he can play a more natural position.
If they make Thornton available, he will definitely have suitors. Wonder if they try to lump in Salmons in a Thornton deal. I still really don't get how you take on Salmons AND trade down.

Re: 2011 NBA Draft Discussion Thread
Back to the Bobcats draft right quick, I thought we all agreed that in this draft the best-case scenario was for your pick(s) to develop into a very good role player. Only in extreme cases, you have to bottom out in order to get better. I think Jordan/Cho realize that they won't get out of the lottery next year unless luck happens, so draft two guys who could become good pieces, and next year depending on how the chips fall they can end up with a Davis/Barnes/P. Jones/Miller/T. Jones.
This all goes out the door though if they make the playoffs though and Chicago gets their first round pick.Lions, Tigers, Pistons, Michigan

Re: 2011 NBA Draft Discussion Thread
Still can't believe Majok got draftedDude tried to go pro before he came to UConn and he was basically laughed at by all the scouts. Then he spends half a season playing for UConn and was a total non factor. Now he got drafted. He's old, raw, and he's really not that great an athlete, he's more just long and looks like he should be a great athlete.
Really surprised how many good college players were passed up for unknown projects. Obviously being a great college player doesn't equal being a great pro, but I think there has to be something to be said for having success in college and being part of a winning program.Originally posted by Jay BilasThe question isn't whether UConn belongs with the elites, but over the last 20 years, whether the rest of the college basketball elite belongs with UConnComment

And the worst part about the draft being over is.....
There's nothing to look forward to with the CBA ending on the 30th. Unless we get some trades between now and then, the news we have now, is the news we'll get until an agreement is reached.
I was looking forward to the draft... got my quick NBA fix... and now... my junkie self knows that we've probably had the last bit of information (other than lockout updates) for a few months.Twitter - WTF_OS

Exactly. It's going to be a boring summer in sports, excluding baseball, but I hate baseball anyway. Summers are usually boring anyway; but there'll even less with the double lockout.Comment

Hopefully we get some trades before June 30th. I think we might get one or two.Originally posted by bradtxmaleI like 6 inches. Its not too thin and not too thick. You get the support your body needs.

And now we just wait for David West to exercise his option or not, then the lockout.

Re: 2011 NBA Draft Discussion Thread
Perhaps the biggest "WTF?!" moment in all of the drafts I've watched. I mentioned it earlier, but not only did he absolutely blow at UConn but he's 25 or 26 years old. He's not a young kid who's going to develop. He's older than Andrew Bynum for god's sake.
Apparently the Lakers loved his versatility and they claim his perimeter game has really developed in the last year and he's more of a SF now. I'm sorry, but Jets you and I know there is absolutely zero chance he's anything resembling a perimeter player. He shot like 43% from the FT line at UConn, was robotic and stiff and couldn't handle the speed of a Big East game.
Seriously, that pick is the biggest headscratcher I've ever seen in the NBA."You make your name in the regular season, and your fame in the postseason." - Clyde Frazier
