Marshon Brooks has been rising up the charts lately. For some reason I'm starting to think the same.

Sam Amick of SI has updated his Draft Board as of yesterday. Looks kind of spot-on..

I'd be happy with either Knight or Walker.........but Kemba just has this "swagger" about him. I dont know what it is. I just think he'll be a really good NBA player RIGHT AWAY. Knight has all of the "potential" in the world but that most of the time doesn't pan out.

Looks kind of awful in my opinion, why would Charlotte, who has 4 PFs already, draft two more?

Amick's logic seems pretty right: Bobcats were a terrible rebounding team. Those 2 picks get you good rebounders.

Knight seems too much like Bayless. Kemba is gonna be a pure point who can score. Knight will be a Jason Terry type player.

I would've thought the opposite if anything.

Ok I know this draft doesn't have many scorers at all but Burks and Brooks are both moving up WAAAAAAY higher than they should be in these mocks. I'll really be surprised if they're drafted 9-15 which, by the time the draft gets here, could be possible for how fast they're moving up.

I'd rather take good offensive players first, like Brooks/Burks at 9 and Hamilton at 19. We get rebounding with a healthy TT coming back.

Derrick Williams would be a disaster pick by Minnesota.

If you plan to play him as a 3, you're either playing Love at center, which is hilarious, or one of Beasley and Williams is riding the bench.

Simply put, if the Wolves draft Williams and plan on keeping him...then that would be a very Kahn thing to do.

Not taking Williams would be a very Kahn thing to do. Take the best asset on the table in a VERY weak draft. Can't play super cool Beas? Package him up and trade him away. Don't know why you'd gamble on a guy like Kanter who has gotten almost all negative reviews through pre-draft workouts, instead of taking a guy who is lauded as the only sure shot besides Irving (and even Irving is a ton of speculation based on potential, Williams showed more than Irving did, and you can blame that on Irving being hurt but either way).

                            Serious question for you Drew:

What does Derrick Williams do better than Super Cool Beas?

That's a valid point, but are you comfortable with Beasley being -that- guy? And if D. Will and Beas are close, why not trade one of them in some type of package, as opposed to drafting an unknown like Kanter.

As far as D Will over Beasley - tough to say because all draft picks really are unknown until you get them out on the court for a couple seasons. I think Beasley has character issues you dont necessarily want around the team. I think Derrick Williams will be a better defender than Beasley after he adjusts to the NBA game. He'll be cheaper, in the long run, because Beas is due for a new contract soon (correct me if I'm wrong). If I'm Minnesota I'm thinking about trading Beasley and replacing him with Derrick Williams straight up, honestly. Why wouldn't I be? Also, I think Derrick Williams will be a better 3 ball shooter than Beas.

I think Beasley is extremely talented, that's why there was alot of debate over Rose/Beas. But Beasley hasn't keyed into that talent on his own, and from what I can tell, doesn't look to be any time soon. Minnesota is in a tough spot without a bonafide #1, packaging Beasley up with something else, then going after a perennial #1 type player, would be more beneficial than going after Kanter.

It's tough to judge with drafts, again, alot of hypotheticals come into play. The Beasley vs. D Will subject is kinda OT, but either way, I don't think Minny should be drafting Kanter with that pick if they are going to skip out on D Will.
