In case I haven't already made it clear, I'm in love with Donatas Motiejunas' offensive game. He looks like a very good passer for a big man, a good shooter, and seems to have good post moves too.

Re: 2011 NBA Draft Discussion Thread
I like his touch around the basket, his toughness around the basket, his defense, and his ability to shoot free throws. And his size.
Whether he is 6-10 or not is irrelevant to me. The same with Vesely. I want a good player, a player with a lot of upside. I see that in Jonas. Not sure I see that in Vesely.
Just remember though...all that touch around the rim and toughness has been in the jr leagues. He hasn't proven those things in the actual Euro league let alone the NBA. Whoever drafts him may even let him stay over there ala Splitter.
I wouldn't be mad at Jonas, since he can only play against who he's put up against and he's killed everything in his path so far...but Ford actually has Vesely #1 on his board (what I heard, I don't have insider)
Even Kanter has a better resume than JV at this point, IMO.Hank's Custom Collectibles 3D printer/painter extraordinaireComment

Vesely is just as big, more athletic and attacks the rim with abandon, has done it against pro's and has the potential to be an allstar. Jonas is going to be a Tiago Splitter clone imo.
We could both be wrong though, these Euro's can often be a bit of crapshoot.
So are you saying they should draft DW over Irving?Comment

Re: 2011 NBA Draft Discussion Thread
I just don't think you can pass on a PG that good, even if he only played a handful of games in college because of the toe injury.
You're not going to have a good shot at a chip without a good PG.Originally posted by bradtxmaleI like 6 inches. Its not too thin and not too thick. You get the support your body needs.

I think I'm a little swayed because I just read a biased article on how Williams was such a dynamic scorer.
In the end I probably would go ahead and pick IrvingChicago Bulls

Re: 2011 NBA Draft Discussion Thread
The fact that Irving can handle the ball at high speeds while reading the floor makes him tough to pass on, IMO. Most PG's can do one or the other, but not both. Rondo is a great example of what blazing quicks and instincts can get you. Then factor in Kyrie's scoring and his ability to work in traffic and draw fouls. If he's got good work ethic, hes just about can't miss.
DWill...I dunno. I love his mental makeup, but so many questions. Can he guard the three? Can he handle well enough to create a shot? Meh, Twan couldn't guard a three with a pistol and he spent alot of time there, and Shard still can't handle all that well and he's been a very good player for the most part. I think Williams' guts will carry him to at least borderline All-Star status as a swing PF. We'll see...Hank's Custom Collectibles 3D printer/painter extraordinaireComment

Re: 2011 NBA Draft Discussion Thread
18 pages in and I'm still plugging Irving and Vesely.
But hey any of you other Cavs fans read the actual Cavs forums on the site? Some of that stuff sounds like they've been hitting the bottle at the pre-draft party pretty early. A LOT of crazy trade talks for getting extra picks to get guys like Marshon Brooks and Alec Burks to go along with Irving and Kanter. Even seen somewhere in there where someone proposed a trade where he got it to come out where we draft Irving, Williams, Kanter, and Brooks. But he had some crazy trades that it takes about 9 Kahns per team to make. Needless to say I won't be reading any more pre-draft coverage over there.
Oh did I mention Irving and Vesely?Comment

And I agree...Irving/Vesely would be a 600 foot homerun, IMO.Hank's Custom Collectibles 3D printer/painter extraordinaireComment
