I've been enjoying the Classic Drafts on NBA TV as well. They been showing it since last week. How crappy was the 2000 and 2001 draft? Just utter overall garbage. In those two drafts combined, Pau Gasol is the only player with a legit chance of being a hall of famer. Tony Parker is probably a loooong shot BUT I highly doubt he gets in.

Re: 2011 NBA Draft Discussion Thread
Yeah 2001 was a little better. But not that much better. Considering that Kwame Brown was the number one overall pick. Whenever I see the number one pick being a bust, that looses points for me. Even though the draft did produce guys like Gasol, Chandler, Parker and even Arenas in the second round.I have more respect for a man who let's me know where he stands, even if he's wrong. - Ok with the Bulls trading LeMarcus Aldridge for Tyrus Thomas in the 2006 draft because I thought Aldridge was too soft.
- Upset with the Bulls trading away Rodney Carney in 2006 because I thought he could be an all star player
- Thinking Greg Oden was a 'Can't miss' and was going to be a top 3 center by 2008.Last edited by Dice; 06-22-2011, 12:33 PM.I have more respect for a man who let's me know where he stands, even if he's wrong. Than the one who comes up like an angel and is nothing but a devil. - Malcolm XComment

Re: 2011 NBA Draft Discussion Thread
Heck, if we were all honest here, I can give you some draft day bombs of my own. Most recently:
- Ok with the Bulls trading LeMarcus Aldridge for Tyrus Thomas in the 2006 draft because I thought Aldridge was too soft.
- Upset with the Bulls trading away Rodney Carney in 2006 because I thought he could be an all star player
- Thinking Greg Oden was a 'Can't miss' and was going to be a top 3 center by 2008.
Most recent I was upset with the draft pick of Taj Gibson. At the time I thought he was nothing more than poor man version of Tyrus Thomas with the same age already but no experience. I was wrong. Basketball IQ is much higher in Gibson.
I was also upset though about the Bulls trading Carney at the time.

Re: 2011 NBA Draft Discussion Thread
I think it'll be extra savored this year because of the possible lockout.
I'm gonna watch it at work, glad we have a big t.v. and I'll be on the web as well at the desk. I just wish I could pay full attention though.
They have to get Irving some finishers in Cleveland.Comment

Re: 2011 NBA Draft Discussion Thread
They don't ruin the picks by showing them on the cell phone. Plus, the coverage is 100% better.
BTW, Kwame Brown...I don't know how anyone could be impressed with the guy. He sounded like Brick from Anchorman. And who would have thought that the first center to win a title in that group...would be Tyson Chandler 11 years later? Dang...Too Old To Game Club
Urban Meyer is lol.Comment

You have to wonder why the NBA had a down period in the early-to-mid part of the 2000's decade.I have more respect for a man who let's me know where he stands, even if he's wrong. Than the one who comes up like an angel and is nothing but a devil. - Malcolm XComment
