Fun fact: The last time a team with the worst record landed the #1 pick was back in 2004 by the Orlando Magic, who eventually drafted Dwight Howard.

Matter of fact, since the new weighted lottery system introduced back in 1993, only two teams (2003 & 2004) with the worst record in the league have landed the #1 pick. So in essence, this years team with the worst record (likely the Bucks), will have a 10% chance at landing the pick (I know it's actually 25%, but the fact that its only happen twice in 20 years is crazy).

I'm going to feel really bad for him if the Pacers win it all this year. Don't get me wrong I like the trade, but this was Granger's team not that long ago. He's really the last remaining guy(I guess you could count Hibbert though) from the Jim O'Brien "dark age" Pacers team and quite frankly he was also the only bright spot on the team. Sad to see him go.

I guess it's good that Philly might buy him out so he can go wherever he chooses.

Why? He'll get his ring too.

Because he sabotages them from the inside and still collects a ring from the Pacers for being on the roster this year....

Lol sounds like a typical WWE drama (Hulk Hogan joining NWO). Anyway, I think only the players on the Playoff roster receive the rings not regular season. Otherwise you'll have waiver guys or 10-day contract peeps knocking on the door.

Regarding the rigged draft conspiracies, I wonder how people will react if the Lakers landed the #1 pick...

I think it's up to management who gets rings. I'm not 100 percent sure, but as long as you were on the team roster at some point during the year, you're eligible to get one.

As for you question regarding the Lakers. Let me give you the answer....

What's the penalty for being below the cap floor? I'm confused how the Sixers can waive Granger, unless maybe his contract still counts against the cap? Anyone know how this works?

Even if he does it's not the same at all lol. I knew he'd be gone next year but in a way I would've liked to see Bird let this season play out with this roster and let Danny try and win a ring with this team before he left. Oh well. Business is business. Not mad either way. I think we got better, we'll see. Just sucks to see a longtime Pacer whos been through it all leave like that.

They split whatever the difference between the cap floor and the team salary among the players on the team. However since Granger was waived I think his salary counts towards the cap.

Maybe he'll try to get in LeBron's good graces now

lol, and Knicks could've gotten rid of him and Felton(2 guys they really wanted gone) 2 months ago had that agreed to Raptors deal.

Raptors should sign him and videotape Handsbro's reaction.

Looks like Danny Granger will be bought out.

@ShamsCharania: Should he get buyout to become free agent, Danny Granger will likely decide among Heat, Clippers, Bulls, Spurs, Mavs, sources tell RealGM.
