"It may well be that we spectators, who are not divinely gifted as athletes, are the only ones able to truly see, articulate and animate the experience of the gift we are denied. And that those who receive and act out the gift of athletic genius must, perforce, be blind and dumb about it -- and not because blindness and dumbness are the price of the gift, but because they are its essence." - David Foster Wallace

LeBron had an all-timer of a series... but c'mon man, lets not act like he was working with chopped liver either. Kyrie averaged 27 a game this series and his scoring kept the Cavs right in the thick of it when LeBron wasn't taking it to the hole. And then you have Tristian Thompson showing out that he actually deserved the max deal, J.R. Smith playing great defense and hitting timely shots, Iman Shumpert (and J.R. & Kyrie) bugging the hell out of Curry/Thompson all series, and then you've got my man Richard Jefferson of all people coming through with a lot of plays to help them over the top. And then you got Kevin Love finally showing up in Game 7 when they needed him to.
Nope. They won and he lead all categories so that ninja did it all himself. You know how this work

That’s the ultimate legacy of these Warriors, whether they win three more titles or never win another. They took what Don Nelson and Mike D’Antoni started to its logical conclusion, augmenting the greatest shooter of all time with lineups composed of 6-foot-7 wings who blitzed the rest of the NBA with a combination of shooting talent and defensive malleability. They have forced the league to adapt to them, and the result has been some amazing basketball over the past few weeks. Early Vegas odds have the Warriors as early favorites to win the title next season. If they’re going to pull it off, they’ll have to be better than this year’s iteration. Let that thought sink in. We’re in for an incredible future.Comment

Not only did Curry get into the paint with more frequency in the regular season, he finished at an elite rate (statistics provided a page or two ago - also here: http://thesportsquotient.com/nba/201...ates-the-paint).
It just is what it is. Maybe he was too tired to drive. Maybe he fell in love with hero threes. But I know we've discussed before (and I forgot how much Warriors basketball you said you actually watched in the regular season) but the difference in his approach throughout much of the postseason seemed very apparent.Comment

For now though, great centers of the NBA and running backs in the NFL are two peas in a pod. The rules have been softened to make it so much easier for guards, just as the NFL has made it easier on QB's and receivers.
Also don't fully agree with the notion that Cleveland mimicked GSW and that's why they won.
Smallball =/= GSW-ball.
Exploiting and adjusting to match ups has always been an enormous part of the NBA. All CLE did was adjust and match up properly with GSW. Their style of play didn't morph into a GSW wannabe though. Cleveland still did a good amount of iso'ing with both Kyrie and LeBron. They didn't let Draymond have the enormous mismatch he's used to and stuck LeBron on him. On top of that, you still needed other-worldly performances (relatively speaking) on the defensive end from Kyrie and JR.Last edited by ehh; 06-20-2016, 03:24 PM."You make your name in the regular season, and your fame in the postseason." - Clyde Frazier

Sheed paid for those though. That was back when genuine replica belts were first becoming a thing. WWE didn't even sell those at the time it was through some other company. He was ahead of his time on that one lol
But LOL at the notion that the wrestling shirts awesome coincidence. Always is with Bron. Somehow that dude is always in the wrong place at the wrong time. Hasn't worn a wrestling Tee all year. Is down 1-3 in the Finals with the whole sports world calling the Cavs done and questioning his legacy again and he strolls in wearing an Undertaker shirt one day and an Ultimate "Warrior" shirt the day after completing the comeback on a team called the Warriors cause those just happened to be the shirts he packed in his road bag. Poor guy

I wonder, if you're a player, if complacency ever sets in once you win a chip...obviously you still want to win more but the pressure and maybe a sense of urgency, is that still there?
Lebron...what else does he have to accomplish? I'm sure he wants to win and win and win, but I don't think that he would be too beat up if he doesnt win another chip after this one...this is the one he really wanted.Comment

Sure, and players have handled it differently. That's why MJ first retired in '93. Others get fat/out of shape/lazy (Shaq).
