Boston is not operating like a team focused on Irving and Davis... In fact, the things they are exploring run counter to a Davis and Irving future, per Steve Kyler.Comment

Re: 2019 Offseason Thread
Is that literally all that Kyler said or did he get into even remote specifics?NFL: Bills
NBA: Bucks
MLB: Cubs
NCAA: Syracuse
Soccer: USMNT/DC United

Re: 2019 Offseason Thread
Nope.
“The Celtics have been actively exploring trades, and draft scenarios for players that would better lineup with a future built around Tatum and Brown... sources close to the team are skeptical that they can get Irving back but remain open to re-signing him.”Comment

It's a good idea, though. Build around Brown and Tatum instead of trading to build around Kyrie and AD and nothing else.Too Old To Game Club

So...HE STAYING?
I've been thinking about that too. Who says Kawhi needs to sign max deal with Raptors or turn down big money to leave Toronto on a 4 year deal. What about option C?
Sign a short deal, like the Lebrons 1+1 deals in the past.
If he wants to stay with Raptors, and trusts them to keep him healthy, why not do this? Stay with Raptors for as long as they're good, and can leave as soon as he wants and sign big deal elsewhere. He gets pay raise each year with 1+1 deals anyways, so he gets more control over future.
Raptors after 19/20 have Lowry,Ibaka,Gasol all off the books. If I'm Kawhi, next year you could still have good shot at finals. After that, see what happens. 2020 offseason you could have enough money to add some big FA to Kawhi/Siakam. If not, then Kawhi could just leave.Comment

Re: 2019 Offseason Thread
There's no reason to read into anything about a pending FA in the NBA Finals right now, especially Kawhi. There's no way he's deciding his future in the middle of the freaking NBA Finals, and even if he did, once the emotional high of being in the moment is gone, his mind can change again (see Kyrie Irving) in the offseason when he has a long time to think about it and be pursued by other teams.Comment

Re: 2019 Offseason Thread
Kemba
For Walker, the decision is easy.
“Oh no question, Charlotte’s definitely my first priority,” he said. “That’s where I’ve been for eight years and that’s all I know. Not many people get a chance to play for one NBA team throughout their career. When I go on my Instagram, I see, ‘Kemba leave! Kemba get out of Charlotte!’ People don’t understand, when they say you need to go ‘here’ and win, that winning is not guaranteed anywhere.
“Charlotte is my home, man,” Walker said. “I’ve been there for eight years and it’s been the most amazing eight years of my life. My family, they love it. The fans love me. The organization has been great and gave me my opportunity.”
