And the Gasol signing was huge, there's their Joker matchup.
You have to wonder if the short turnaround doesn't hurt their improvement though. Their best two players will be carrying over chemistry, and a few role players as well, but they are basically starting fresh. I never expect a team with such an overhaul to be favorites, it worked last year but so many other teams had overhauls as well. I feel like that is an advantage for teams like Utah, Denver, and to a lesser extent the Clippers since they changed coaching..

I mean I'm not counting them out obviously, until LeBron is no longer doing what he did this past post-season they are going to have as good of a shot as anybody regardless, especially since AD, Caruso, Kuz, KCP are all still improving as players and AD most nights was equally as good as Bron, some nights better.. But I don't think the roster upgrades are a huge improvement, they are an improvement though, and you just wonder if overhauling the roster and such a short turnaround sets them back a bit.

I am confident Marc and Wes will fit in seamlessly, and Schroder will most likely be asked to come in and do what he's always done. They just have to hope Harrell brings that energy, doesn't try to do too much, doesn't get upset when the touches aren't there.

Hopefully with these additions Frank can get a bit more creative with some of his offensive schemes, on paper you would think high ball screen with Marc on Bron give them more shooting and spacing than they had last year. Theoretically it should make it easier from Bron to get to the rim and gives them a second option to get the ball to AD with Marc making that high-low entry pass.

I doubt it, it's still gonna be a 72 game season. Plenty of time to figure things out.

The Lakers podcast guys are drooling at the additions of Schroder, Harrell (especially), and Gasol to open up the possibilities of what they can do on offense.

The starting 5 will be great on D with Bron, KCP, Matthews, AD, and Gasol. But if they keep similar patterns where Bron starts the 2nd and 4th with the bench unit...

        Schroder
        Caruso
        LeBron
        Kuzma
        Harrell

That lineup on offense is gonna be a fastbreak nightmare for opponents.

        I'm excited for the possibilities.

This is a solid move I'm assuming for very little $. It doesn't hurt to have another vet on the team and he was good enough to get some minutes in big games for the heat. I doubt anyone remembers last summer when we traded him (and a plumlee) for Chandler Parsons and got zero draft picks out of it.

I'm def rooting for kings to match the offer as we currently have a full roster. It would roll over 20 million in cap space.

Barring injuries of course, if the new players have the same buy in that everyone(mostly, looks at Kuzma) had last year, Lakers going to be an absurdly tough out.

The Org needs to find some creative ways to get Kieff some more money. I'm sure he could have gotten more elsewhere.

I think one of Bell/McKinnie is having a portion of their contract guaranteed and then waived and stretched over a period of years to make the trade and cap work out. But then Pincus suggested they could keep them both, so maybe they leave them on the roster. I wouldn't mind them keeping them and waive/stretching them later if something comes up. I don't really think either of them are bad players based on how they looked with Golden State.

Assuming the Lakers try for Boogie and Dudley for those remaining 2 spots, or just Dudley for now and leave the last spot open. I still think another guard wouldn't hurt them. With Morris back it might make the most sense to waive McKinnie if an opportunity for a guard presents itself.

I'm not sure of the exact rotations like you are even when Lebron sits your still fielding a quality lineup. For the sake of argument lets assume Gasol is a disappointment and KCP/Wes also aren't on the court. I heard Bell was going to go and Mckinnee stick around for now.

That's enough though, let's not act like switching Dwight Howard for Marc Gasol suddenly swings things in favor to the Nuggets.

Besides off the court, he's still a 7 footer who is a high volume rebounder and can block shots at a good clip.
