You have to wonder if the short turnaround doesn't hurt their improvement though. Their best two players will be carrying over chemistry, and a few role players as well, but they are basically starting fresh. I never expect a team with such an overhaul to be favorites, it worked last year but so many other teams had overhauls as well. I feel like that is an advantage for teams like Utah, Denver, and to a lesser extent the Clippers since they changed coaching..
I mean I'm not counting them out obviously, until LeBron is no longer doing what he did this past post-season they are going to have as good of a shot as anybody regardless, especially since AD, Caruso, Kuz, KCP are all still improving as players and AD most nights was equally as good as Bron, some nights better.. But I don't think the roster upgrades are a huge improvement, they are an improvement though, and you just wonder if overhauling the roster and such a short turnaround sets them back a bit.
I am confident Marc and Wes will fit in seamlessly, and Schroder will most likely be asked to come in and do what he's always done. They just have to hope Harrell brings that energy, doesn't try to do too much, doesn't get upset when the touches aren't there.
Hopefully with these additions Frank can get a bit more creative with some of his offensive schemes, on paper you would think high ball screen with Marc on Bron give them more shooting and spacing than they had last year. Theoretically it should make it easier from Bron to get to the rim and gives them a second option to get the ball to AD with Marc making that high-low entry pass.
