"The Utah Jazz have agreed to trade C Derrick Favors and a future first-round pick to the Oklahoma City Thunder for a future second-round pick, sources tell ESPN. Jazz create some financial flexibility and Thunder grab another first-rounder."

OKC continuing to stockpile future firsts.

I think Wizards are banking on selling him on future, loyalty, and supermax. I think guys like Dame and Beal don't want to be that type player who forces his way out by any means. I do think they are guys who love their cities and want to remain loyal. Since Beal wasn't trade him on Draft night, I ultimately think Beal is either going to sign the Supermax extension or Wizards lose him for nothing next year.

Any word on the protections for this ? His contract doesn't seem bad enough to get a 1st round pick out so maybe its a fake 1st ?

I'm sure it's protected to some degree. Lottery or top 20 probably. It's not that his contract is terrible so much as it allows Utah to avoid paying the luxury tax.

"The trade puts Utah $13M below the luxury tax. Will likely still be a tax team if Mike Conley Jr. is brought back but at a lesser financial penalty.'

Teams interested in Atlanta restricted free agent John Collins have grown increasingly pessimistic that Collins can be signed away from the Hawks, league sources say.

So a couple of KG situations, that's fine, but no Title.

Westbrook met at LeBron's house two weeks ago with AD as well and sounds like amongst agreeing to put their egos aside to win, Bron and AD will move permanently to the 4/5 to help the squad.

That makes this work much much better.

Think AD at the 5 and Bron at the 4 thing was reported weeks ago. Which is kinda why I didn't understand the timing of this Kuzma trade as his value is at an all-time low and this season would have been his first year to maybe "fit" with that duo. I'm guessing Schroder S&T options were too limited to make a deal without Kuzma.

He'll probably be drinking on the bench during games.

You say "jk", but IMO with the assets they've accumulated the end result has to ultimately be about using them to get elite players. Getting a collection of nice 2nd or 3rd options would be failure.

I don't care what was said while they were chillin at Bron's, what's going to happen in the heat of the moment in games. Harden's instant shift when he went from the Rockets to the Nets was shocking and pretty incredible, but I think that most people knew that he could play differently if he wanted to. I'm not convinced in the slightest that Russ can make a shift at all. I also don't believe the part about Bron and AD permanently shifting to the 4/5 either. This is just wishful thinking on the part of Lakers fans, IMO.

Do the same thing tomorrow. And the next. Now do it forever.
