With the hole at backup C this plugs a hole. Even though I loved the Dunn signing he only played 43 minutes this year bc Injuries. I would have probably keep Dunn, but I get the logic.

Edit - apparently Atlanta gives up the 2nd rounder which makes it worse for Atlanta. Since this saves Boston a few million

Turns out this is a 3 team deal and Thompson is going to the Kings and ATL gets Delon Wright

I traded Dunn, Fernando and a 2023 second-rounder last night for Derrick Rose on 2K.

Westbrook to LA is such a great thing for the league. All the narratives all the drama. Gonna be a fun one.

"The Dallas Mavericks are finalizing trading G/F Josh Richardson to the Boston Celtics, sources tell @TheAthletic @Stadium. Richardson is exercising his $11.6 million player option for the 2021-22 season for the deal. "

"The Mavericks are now in position to possibly have up to $33M in cap space. However, using a majority of room could come at the cost of free agent Tim Hardaway Jr."

Boston is using their trade exception to trade for Richardson.

Y’all acting like this man Russ is shooting 10 threes a night and just shooting all his teams out of games [emoji23]. I know he’s not a great shooter, but I don’t think he’s even remotely close to the worst. I need to see more stats than just 3pt% on number of attempts because this guy doesn’t give a **** about his percentages. He doesn’t pass to someone else late in the clock to protect his efficiency, he doesn’t not pull from half court when time is running out, he doesn’t shy away from heat checks or momentum destroying bombs when his team is on a run, hell he’ll chase down a board 15ft away from him just to get up 1 more full court heavy before a quarter ends. That’s just his motor... you take out the misses from those crazy attempts and I bet it paints a different picture. He stays anywhere near that 36% on catch and shoot threes he was last yeah then he’s fine.

Plus y’all act like the Lakers weren’t considered contenders when healthy last year with Schroder shooting 33% from deep. And you’re really crazy if you think they are trading their starting shooting guard, moving AD and Bron to the 4 and 5 and not going to add shooters at the 2 and 3..

I still don’t think Hield is off the table, or some team getting worked into this trade with Schroder involved. I thought that before Pack posted that article and now I definitely think that way. Felt that was a likely possibility the moment Sacramento drafted Davion Mitchell. 3 mocks I read before the draft said that Sac would be trading their pick for players that can contribute now, and that selection with Fox, Haliburton made no sense to begin with. Even if there isn’t something there I wouldn’t be surprised if Schroder still went to another team, with younger pieces/pics coming back to Washington, and something like Bertans to LAL.. maybe I’m crazy, but getting Kuz with Rui seems redundant as well, and that article Pack posted was along my train of thought.

This makes more sense I like the trade a lot better with Delon then triston. Delon can be the backup PG and should be a upgrade over the hogwash we have rolled out the last few years behind Trae. I’m no expert on His game, but he should be a better fit when he needs to play alongside Trae. I still like Dunn as a player hopefully he can get healthy and get a chance to play in Boston. This also takes the pressure off the 2nd round pick as you don’t have to force him playing. It does also save the roster spot as the Bruno pick was never going to work out after foolishly trading up for him.

A backup big is still needed with OO out half a year. It’s pretty much the only need so can find a cheap vet for that.

With the Kings getting Thompson, I wonder if that means they won't sign Holmes.

He's a guy I heard the Raptors are really interested in. He does fit a big need at C.

A lot of Lakers fans wanted Wright too in the Hield deal.

Do the same thing tomorrow. And the next. Now do it forever.

He would of been a great fit for their offense.

Would have made sense for both sides when the trade was rumored to be Kuz and KCP and not Trez..

For Lakers fans I’d think they are just sitting back hoping if this does happen they can keep THT. As I believe he was also part of the original rumored Westbrook packages.

What news are you going to get about Schroder right now. He's a UFA and free agency doesn't open until the 2nd. On top of that he's not in the top tier of free agents available so it's not like all the reporters are canvassing the league on Dennis Schroder news.

I still don't get why you and Laker fans keep dreaming up all these deals where you get players based on sign and trade scenarios for Schroder. The teams he's been linked to the most the Knicks and Bulls will have the cap space to sign him out right and the only reason to do a sign and trade at that point would be if he wanted to help out the Lakers to get something for him. In order for him to be apart of a sign and trade that gets them Buddy Hield he'd have to actually WANT to go to Sacramento and they'd have to WANT to sign Dennis Schroder.

Unless there is no market for schroder , it makes no sense for him to do a sign and trade.

Maybe if sac can offer him more then he would get in fa.

Even then you are better off banking on yourself for a 1 year deal and then try fa next year…

The article points out that Schroder could be signed and traded to Washington rather than Sacramento while bringing back Buddy for the Lakers.

The part I don’t understand is the author’s insistence that the Lakers had to leak a Westbrook trade. That just doesn’t make sense. It’s still possible that it comes together that way until the trade is official but we’ll see. Just seems like a Lakers author trying to will it to happen.

I’m sure the Lakers are hoping they can sign and trade Dennis somewhere though.
