Regarding the "take" foul, I feel like it's as simple as asking ourselves, "Is that what we want from an NBA basketball game at that moment? An intentional foul to prevent a fast break and cause an unnecessary stoppage?" I think it's an easy and obvious answer. When it's between playing basketball and stopping teams from playing basketball, give me playing basketball.
Like other loopholes prior (the intentional delay of game on the sideline, the hack-a-Shaq, etc.) I'm betting the penalty in this instance will just about induce teams to stop from attempting these fouls altogether.
Regarding the bench decorum, some teams brought this on themselves. The Mavericks, in particular, basically dared the Competition Committee to put something new in writing. And for the record, the league has addressed standing players before, in 2009, but dudes like Theo Pinson matching opposing team's full jersey color and standing in the trey corner is a big part of this aspect being addressed.Last edited by VDusen04; 07-11-2022, 11:24 PM.Comment

Good and good. The Competition Committee's making the right moves.

Re: NBA Off Topic Thread
If I recall correctly, some on-court players were also falling into the standing bench guys hugging the sideline, increasing injury risk.

Re: NBA Off Topic Thread
I always thought the fun of the soccer tournaments was seeing your team play teams from other leagues and countries, so if this ends with the Knicks playing Maccabi Tel Aviv BC then I might be in but I really don’t understand what they’re trying to do.Originally posted by G PericoIf I ain't got it, then I gotta take it

Re: NBA Off Topic Thread
I'm gonna need someone to break that down to me like I'm slow. They saying it's a problem that some teams aren't spending enough or they have a problem with what GS spent? Cause I'm gonna need them to not tell me they have an issue with GS being willing to spend that money cause that's a problem for me. We don't need to continue sheltering these cheap *** owners that have zero interest in fielding competitive basketball teams and just want to collect checks off the backs of NBA fans overspending on sub-par product. You got your luxury tax to help your cheap asses, if a team is willing to go into the luxury tax and pay up then that's just too damn bad. Step up or get out of the league
That sentence didn’t make sense to me either.
I think it’s about the GS “machine” willing to spend anything on their roster and in luxury taxes because they know they’ll make it back as long as they get extra revenue from playoff and Finals home games.
A lot of investors in the Bay Area know that the team will go up in value and they can just cash out in a few years.
Like how many NBA teams have a billionaire venture capitalist funding their team like Chamath?
Yeah most of these owners are cheap and not progressive but you can’t get rid of an owner because they’re cheap and stuck in their ways.
NBA probably looking into competitive advantages the Warriors get because their investors got deeper pockets and more connections.Comment
