Without fully understanding all the cap ramifications, love the trade for the Knicks. Perfect fit

They don’t grasp that landing multiple firsts in the lottery is the best rebuild currency because you want as many swings as you can get at landing potential superstars and stars and you also don’t have to use all of them either cause you can use them in other deals to get things done.

What is their plan for now? They still committed to trying to be competitive?

I guess I just don't understand the fascination with the picks.

Knicks still have a a bunch of picks for the next few years.

Is Bridges a superstar, no. Is Bridges a beautiful fit, absolutely.

It was going to be an 'overpay' to get the Nets to make the deal now.

I still think you see another move maybe for the draft tonight.

He's a very good contingency if they can't retain OG, but he also bolsters their already elite team defense if they can.

They need to offload Robinson so they can bring back either OG or Hartenstein.

And finding some competent big men if they lose two or more of the group of Mitchell, Isaiah and Julius.

I like this move a lot for the Knicks and Leon Rose has been doing a masterful job. When is the last time you can say that about a Knicks GM?

Well I mean giving 5 1sts for a non superstar/all star is crazy lol.

The picks for US make sense because we were no closer to winning a championship or even being good with Mikal AND no guarantee of another star wanting to come here. The picks hold more weight to us now just like getting a star/big name holds more weight to ya’ll right now.

I could see that. Warriors have the salaries to do a S&T for PG13 and I see PG13 wanting to stay on the west coast

Ever since OKC collected all those 1sts then all of a sudden, the fans seem to crazy over value 1st round picks. Unless something crazy happens 3 of those 5 are almost locks to be non-lottery picks which historically is maybe a role player. The reason you collect all the 1st round picks is to turn them into what you want so I have no problem with what NY did. As you its not like NY pulled a suns and have no picks till like 2032 or whatever. NY is relevant for the first time in forever and will be one of the most fun teams in the league.

I also understand it for Nets as they are in a great spot turning KD into what 8 1st round picks and will have cap space next year. I think both teams won here

No one really has a clue. I'd bet my last dollar that Jerry has already given the mandate that the team needs to be competitive next year tho so he can get his precious gate revenue tho. They're hell bent on moving Zach, they want DeMar back, but they're about to let him get to unrestricted free agency because they still aren't close on a deal so everything is telling them they need to be tanking, but I'm still hearing that they are looking for players to win now with.

I think OG was a lock once they made the trade with Nets.

You now have two high level wing defenders, along with Josh who is solid.

I'm not positive because the new CBA has made things even more confusing than it used to be, and on top of that, Golden State has the flexibility to be a second apron team (by keeping CP3/Klay) or being out of the tax entirely, but I don't think Golden State can acquire Paul George via a sign-and-trade. I think he'd have to opt-in for the last year of his contract and then he could sign a long-term deal after being traded. Very well could be mistaken though.

                            Nets have a direction now.
Houston made a deal solely to facilitate a future deal.

I may not agree with trading for Durant, but I can't fault a team for making deals that align to a future vision.
Its better than making deals that make you go "so whats the plan here, competing for a play-in spot?"

OG, Brunson, Bridges isn't bad at all. I'd imagine they're losing Randle or Hartenstein, but if they could keep both or just get someone else up front, they're definitely capable of another 50+ win season. Something they haven't done since the mid 90s.

I think they’re going to try to trade Mitch and keep iHart. Randle isn’t a free agent, he’s not going anywhere.
