The next year was a sweep to the Rockets, over Shaq and the Magic.
Ahh, Nick the Brick Anderson... hit a free throw and your team gets a ring.
Uh....how does making FTs to clinch ONE game win a ring?Comment

Re: The OFFICIAL NBA Playoffs Thread
He killed the confidence of the team. Up until those final minutes the Magic were handling game one comfortably. Sure, Hakeem and the Rockets were champions and could have still won 4-1, but my opinion on watching both teams all year, is that the Magic would have gained even more confidence and momentum and gone on.
Little moments CAN clinch series'. There was .4 seconds and a little moment of a stupid shot clock official that killed the Spurs against LA. There was the Pippen no foul on Hubert Davis that was actually called a foul, that should have sent the Jordan-less Bulls to the finals with a shot against the Rockets.
Heaps of little moments. And even though my scenario was just game one in a possible seven game series, I am just stating my opinion.Comment

Re: The OFFICIAL NBA Playoffs Thread
Thats why little moments are so crucial to the playoffs.....and thats why I get so pissed when BS fouls are called or flopping goes on or missed travels. They all affect the game so much, momentum swings one way or another, and it affects the outcome of the game.Comment

That's ridiculous, IMHO. If you count EVERY little moment as having the potential to decide a series, why do you bother watching the games? After all, EVERY series is suspect then. Besides that, what about the fact that those little moments have to go one way or the other, as in favor one team or another. You're saying that ONE moment, possibly in Game 1 of a series can deflate a team's confidence so much that they will never recover for the rest of a series? If so, then they do not deserve to advance to the next round. And it's not like they won't get other moments in a series where they'll come out on top, or the other team will come out on top.
As for the Spurs' loss last year, it was their fault. They were soft, and they couldn't handle it. They had a chance to recover, they just never did. That 0.4 second play happened in Game 5, didn't it? Giving the Lakers a 3-2 lead. They could have won game 6, but they didn't. Hopefully they've learned something since that collapse, but it doesn't seem like they have.Comment

Just to clarify on those Jordan-less Bulls--that Game 7 against the Knicks was in the Eastern Conference Semis, NOT the Eastern Conference Finals. They still would have had to beat the Pacers to got o the NBA Finals.
Not trying to pick on you, but why do people think the Bulls were 1 game away from the NBA Finals that year? I even see sports writers constantly screw that fact up.Comment

Wow dude........I cant believe how much the Pistons intro pumps me up! I just love the way the intros are done, it's great. I wish I was there right now. I'm not even a Pistons fan and I'm all riled up.
Loved how they used "Victory" by Puff Daddy and Biggie at the beginning and end of the pregame show, just wish they used that constantly.
LETS GO PISTONSComment

Re: The OFFICIAL NBA Playoffs Thread
i was at a suns game... that was well done... been to spurs games in the past, those are well done too.
At this rate, it looks to be another DET. win. Duncan isnt fluid at all. That defensive pressure is killing him,Comment

As a huge Suns fan, it dissapoints me that I've never been to AWA. Hopefully I can make a trip out there next year with my brother (also a Suns fan).
I like the things that Detrot is doing. It's like agression without being agressive, if that makes sense. It's like fluid aggression. I loved Sheed's best Duncan impresson as he went off the glass. He really needs to keep up the good start in order for Detroit to win.Comment
