Unacceptable on Detroit's part to let go of such a huge first quarter. I wish they couldve had the killer instinct. Granted it was so early, but when you have the opposition scoring only 4 points in like 6 minutes, you gotta capitalize on it.
On to Game 2...Comment

You know it is possible to have great defense and be high scoring right? Theres a gigantic difference between good defense and stagnant half court offense. As Shaquille O'Neal left the Suns practice court, he yelled out, "Alvin's the coach. We must be the Clippers. And I must be Olowokandi. Nooooo!"Comment

Yeah, of course it's possible... mostly when the great D comes only from one side. But that isn't the case here at all.Comment

Re: The OFFICIAL NBA Playoffs Thread
I heard something very interesting last night after the game. ESPN's Greg Anthony said that in other sports like football, baseball, and etc., fans appreciate it when the teams play great defense. But in the NBA, teams that play great defense are considered to be boring. I've never understood why playing good defense meant that you play boring basketball, can somebody here explain that to me?
What a great game for the Spurs. They got down 17-4 early in the first. I just think the reason for that was maybe rust, nervousness, or whatever. Obviously Gregg Poppovich didn't care about any of that when a reporter asked him that question about his team possibly being rusty or lethargic. Ginobili had one heck of a game and I think that if the Pistons can't find an answer for him then they will lose this series. Tim Duncan had another quiet game. Nobody gives Tim Duncan any credit for his performance last night with 24 points and 17 rebounds. It was great when we heard that Poppovich said that his team was playing like high school kids early.
Now for the Pistons it has to be very frustrating when you play well for basically 3 quarters and then jsut absolutely melt down in the 4th quarter. I believe that when Ben Wallace picked up that technical foul on a play that I believe was a charge, I think that the Pistons lost their edge and quit playing hard. Detroit's front line was so terrible on the offensive end. At one point Wallace didn't get a shot in the 4th quarter. The Pistons bench didn't make a difference either. With nobody scoring off of your bench, you will not win this series. The bench must step up in game 2 on Sunday. With Larry Brown whenever they are down in a series they don't lose the next game. I expect the Pistons to be better prepared for game 2 and tie up the series.Comment
