Detroit Pistons: Now one thing I've noticed from watchin Detroit throughout The Playoffs is, this team's defensive efforts come up short when they play miserable on the offensive end. As seen in Game 3, when Detroit comes out attackin the basket and playin with energy and showin explosiveness on the offensive end, it rubs off on them on the other side of the floor. Ben Wallace got the energy goin early on offense and that sparked the entire team. It seems as if they're more serious about playin Detroit Piston defense when things on offense are goin smooth. Startin off attackin the basket and knockin down a few early jumpers allows them the chance to relax on defense and play the way they know how. When they're confused on offense and every basket seems forced, on defense they start to play to not get scored on instead of playin to stop you from scorin. I think its important for that entire lineup to come out and focus on gettin it goin offensively and let that spark their defensive efforts.
San Antonio Spurs: I love how San Antonio came out early dictatin' the pace for Game 1 & 2. Ofcourse Game 1 Detroit came out on fire early on, but San Antonio quickly shifted the pace of the game. Thats at home though. I think on the road in Detroit, San Antonio should reserve some of that energy. San Antonio is a heavyweight ballclub. I think they should play these road games at a marathon pace instead of a sprint. Do everything possible to keep the game close and not let Detroit throw that devastatin' shot like they did in Game 3. And even if they do, try and take it. I think San Antonio should just focus on keepin the game close instead of tryin to pull away and throw that knockout punch. Let the game come to you and try and get it to the 4th quarter. If the game is close late in the 4th, I think San Antonio has the will to finish it off. In Game 3 they took a lot of ill-advised shots that hurt them in the end because they were tryin to match Detroit with big shot after big shot. Take what Detroit gives you and don't force yourself to try and blow it away. Fight at a steady pace and at the end I think Duncan, Gino and Parker can lead them to victory. With that said.......
My Pick to win: San Antonio
My Player of The Game: Tony Parker
I think San Antonio learned from Game 3 that Detroit with bein at home will be the team with the early momentum. Pop will get the guys in a mindstate that they don't have to force anything. Make more of a valid effort to slow down Detroit on offense and shots will come. I think Parker has to have a big game for San Antonio to win. Ginobili may still be shaky and Duncan isn't goin to force the issue. Parker has to get it done offensively and make things more difficult for Big Shot.
