    Re: Official Slider Discussion Thread

Um yeah, I'm not sure how Reignmaker's sliders could be considered "sim".

For one thing, the punches are so quick they're just a blur. It's like taking boxing footage and speeding it up, they even move jerky, like there's frames missing from the animation.

And the one common complaint I noticed on the EA message boards was that every fight ends in a knockout - I'm seeing that as well.

I'm really started to get frustrated with this game - whatever they did in the DLC has pretty much ruined the action in the ring.

Yeah, ten's a little rediculous. Three isn't so bad, even on GOAT. Connect percentages are in the mid 30's. I may consider raising toughness to ten or using 5/3 for power/toughness.

I do like how it doesn't take ten punches to finish a guy off.

Even 3 doesn't feel right. It's not even that it's harder, it just LOOKS weird, like their arms are going to fly off and shoot across the ring.

I felt like there was a good flow to the game that we'd figured out prior to the DLC. Speed really didn't need to be tweaked but they messed with it anyway. I've been playing with some slider sets I created prior to the DLC and none of them play the way they did, so they didn't just tweak stamina.

By the way, the training games are messed too. The maize bag, for example, is ALOT easier. I'm blowing out my old high scores by thousands of points.

On the other hand, I set power to 10 on Pro and can't get Champion with Tyson or Lewis.

I think they changed them to accomodate the differences in the buttons so that they wouldn't be too easy.

          Which pisses me off.

I've pretty much come to the conclusion that getting a realistic match in the ring is going to make some of the training impossible.

Does anybody know how much it sets one back to just auto-train through your legacy? Does it really make that much difference in the long term?

Before the patch i started a legacy with your last pre-patch sliders, but i used PRO not Champion! (but upped CPU punch output to 3)

I alway´s auto-trained and at 26 years old i had my Lightweight Joe Calzaghe at overall 80 and won my first belt agains an 82 rated boxer.

Then, after the patch, my PS3 died on me and i had it replaced for other (the uglier Ps3 slim).

So, now, im still waiting for your best possible sliders to start again...

What was your record at 80 OVR? What was the record and age of your 82-rated opponent?

                  Re: Official Slider Discussion Thread

I always change sliders or training and auto train the combo bag. I have only gotten champion on combo bag once, so I just auto train and take the points. I fight ASAP the first year or two and usually get 8 to 9 fights/training sessions a year. Once I hit the top 20 I go every 3 months and in the top 10 every 6 months. My last legacy doing all the above my fighter was 95 overall when he hit age 30 and started regressing. If you maxed out a fighter at 100 across the board he'd be a 96 or 97 tops. My guy was 100 in a few categories and 99 in the rest, and I did it by doing the above.

I like the stamina at zero, but I have to have speed higher to do it. I hate the CPU on higher AI's because of how bum fighters and complete tomato cans can become Willie Peps and Ali's on defense. I do like how they chain together combos on higher AI's though, that is cool. I am still testing and like my main set as of right now.

I was 30(14)-5-0. My opponent was 41(25)-8-0 and i believe he was 38 years old.

So it would seem that if you do some of the training and auto-train some of them, it won't set you back nearly as much as I thought?

I don't want to get into changing sliders/difficulty levels just for training, that's way too freaking tedious.

                          So here's an interesting twist.

I went back to my 2nd to last set of sliders I posted the other day - PWR/TGH 5/2.

I played a couple of games with those and then went back and tried my very first set of champion sliders, PWR/TGH of 4/2 and CPU OFF/DEF awareness of 2/0.

I'm beginning to think the awareness sliders don't do anything. The CPU was much more aggressive and connected at a 15% higher percentage with the awareness at 2/0 vs. 5/7.

This game is just confounding me to no end.

The ratio of OFF to DEF AI can make a difference on punch output. Try 5/7 or 5/6 and see how it works. The CPU will be defensive, but not too defensive. I like one of those of 5/5 because of how they string together combos a little more. I am going to try 5/5 with a punch output of two to see what happens there on champion.

                                I think I'm done.

Speed on 0 or 1 is like molasses. Speed on 2 or above is like hyperwarp with the CPU connecting 60 or more percent of the time.

I don't freaking understand why they MESSED with something that didn't need fixed. Unless the "stamina" tweaks they said they made were all smoke and mirrors.
