Offense takes center stage as Astros earn opening game victory against O's!!!!!

Baltimore, MD - Offense was the story tonight at Camden Yards as the Astros and Orioles began a 3-game series. The two teams combined for 15 runs and 27 hits on the evening with Houston getting the edge with a 9-6 victory. The game went back and forth until the Astros took control in the 6th inning to put the game away on back-to-back doubles by Carlos Lee and Miguel Tejada. Houston had a combined 9 extra base hits which included 6 doubles and 3 home runs, 3 of which coming from former Oriole Miguel Tejada. Both Jeremy Guthrie and Roy Oswalt were miserable in the outing, but Oswalt lasted long enough to earn the victory and Guthrie left with a no-decision. The two teams will look for some pitching tomorrow night as they continue the series.

Baltimore, MD - The Orioles offense continued to roll tonight as the O's evened up the 3-game set with the Astros with a 10-5 victory. Nick Markakis went 2-for-4 with 3 RBI's on the night and started the onslaught with a 2-run home run in the 1st inning to give the O's the lead early, and they never looked back. The O's also got a pair of doubles from Kevin Millar, who had 2 RBI's and a 2 RBI, 4 hit night by the leadoff man Brian Roberts. Brian also stole 2 bases, setting the pace, as the "Birds" swiped 4 bases total on the evening. Daniel Cabrera picked up team leading win number 8 on the season, going 7.1 IP, allowing 3 runs on only 5 hits on the evening. The Astros got 4 solo home runs on the night, but it wasn't enough. The two teams will decide this interleague affair tomorrow night right back here at the "Yard" in Baltimore.

                No Relief For Reds!!!!!

Dodgers get to Reds bullpen, take over game late.

The Dodgers picked up a one-run victory on the road last night, with the 3-2 final a disappointment to both the Reds and their 32,942 fans in attendance. Jeff Kent collected 2 hits in 3 at-bats and had 2 RBI's for the victors. Brad Penny wasn't bad, allowing 2 runs over 6 innings, but all he has to show for it is a no-decision. Coming into a tie game, Scott Proctor was able to snatch a win, his 5th of the season, pitching 1 inning in relief of Brad Penny.

The series wraps up with an afternoon game today, with the Dodgers starting Derek Lowe (8-1, 3.46) and the Reds turning to Bronson Arroyo (4-5, 5.60).

Wow, there is a lot of action on the boards today. You guys are slipping a little. First day in a long time I was on page 2 when I logged on. For some reason, I'm having issues getting a reply in when I hit the post reply button. I have to use the quick reply. I guess I'm using IE for any updates as it's not working on my Firefox. Makes things a little more difficult, so bare with me until I can get the feel for it guys. Thanks.

Expl"O"sive!!!!! Birds wrap up series in another rout of Astros!!!!!

Baltimore, MD - The O's bats were once again on fire tonight at the "Yard" pounding out 12 hits and accumulating their run total to 23 for the series. The "Birds" began things once again in the 1st inning with RBI singles from Nick Markakis and Ramon Hernandez. With the game at 2-1 in the 4th, Aubrey Huff crushed his 10th home run of the season to propel the O's to a 4-1 advantage. The Orioles added three more in the 5th following a leadoff triple by Brian Roberts, his 1st of the year, and then added the 8th run of the night in the 8th inning when Freddie Bynum tuned up his 1st home run of the season. Radhames Liz picked up win number two on the year, going 7.0 innings, allowing only 1 run. Chad Bradford and George Sherrill continued to not see game time due to the circumstances, as of right now, that's the main concern of the O's skipper, but he enjoys the blowouts in his favor, as it seems the O's are beginning to heat up a few weeks before the All-Star break.

Thanks man, I can't believe there is a team out there that their starting pitching is worse than mine, but Houston's is really bad. For me to put up 20+ runs in a series is something to say.

Its gotta feel good to lay the wood on somebody, good going! and BTW,how bout them Fightins', all but in with 5 to play,I really want them to take the division though, the Dodgers just seem like the better match-up right now although I worry about Charlie having to match wits with Joe Torre.

Hey Orion, it's about time that I'm the one putting up some runs and knocking the opposing pitching around. I'm rooting for your Phillies, my friend and I were actually talking today about going to a playoff game if we can get our hands on some tickets. Are you going to try and go to one?

I'm rooting for your Phillies, my friend and I were actually talking today about going to a playoff game if we can get our hands on some tickets. Are you going to try and go to one?
I may,but my work schedule is so unpredictable that its hard for me to make plans and stick to them, most of the time I end up giving the tickets away.I'm thinking about it though
