      Yankees Win Interleague Contest!!!!!

Padres fall to Yankees in interleague tilt.

The Yankees picked up a nice 5-2 win over the Padres last night, sending their 57,792 fans home happy. Johnny Damon was the star at the plate, going 3-for-4 with a home run and 3 RBI's. Chien-Ming Wang worked 7 innings to get his league-leading 11th win of the season, giving up 2 runs on 5 hits and striking out 4.

Up next for the Yankees are the Reds tonight at Yankee Stadium, with Andy Pettitte (5-3, 4.71) battling Edinson Volquez (4-2, 4.42). Jason Giambi looks to build on his 16-game hitting streak.

Quick House Rule update. For some reason, it was left out as I had it in a year ago.

When hitting in a National League Park, I may only pinch hit for the pitcher after 7 innings of game time and losing or any current Starting Pitcher house rules are met. Same rules apply for any relievers that enter the game.

Hehe,I'll keep you in mind next season,I actually live close enough to the ballpark that I can hear the roar of the crowd from my porch so if you ever come to Philly to see a game let me know and maybe we can catch a game or something. As far as the playoffs go,you really got me thinking of getting tickets for a game,my oldest son would love to go to a playoff game and I haven't seen any live post season action since game two of the Cup finals vs. Detroit back in 97

It's Millar Time!!!!! Orioles take offensive show on the road and pack up Brew Crew!!!!!

Milwaukee, WI - The Orioles took continued to clobber the baseball as they won convincingly 8-4 at Miller Park against the Brewers tonight. Freddie Bynum reached on an infield single as he outhustled the throw from shortstop in the 2nd inning to get the scoring started. The O's trailed 2-1 going into the 4th inning, but tied it up when starting pitcher Steve Trachsel helped himself out with a single to center to score Kevin Millar and then Brian Roberts gave Baltimore the lead with a single of his own to score Bynum. The "Birds" then broke a 3-3 tie in the 5th inning with 2 runs and added 2 more in the 7th inning, capped by a Kevin Millar single to center, one of four he would have on the evening. Despite rookie Ozzie Chavez, playing in his first game of his career, going 3-for-4 and Cory Hart's triple and home run in the game, the Brewers were no match tonight for the visitors. Steve Trachsel picked up his 6th win of the year and Jensen Lewis pitched the last 2.1 innings to earn his first career save. Aubrey Huff extended his hitting streak to 10 games. The O's and Crew will rekindle tomorrow night right back here at Miller Park.

See if Baltimore and Washington switched leagues you would be okay. Seems like you are killing the NL Central right now.

Re: Highheat's Orioles (MLB "The Show" '08) Final Attempt!!!!

The mini-streak is getting you closer to the Rays. It looks like you may be too far away, though, to think about catching the Blue Jays. The Pinstripers and Red Sox are pretty much uncatchable by the O's.

Question: Why wait until the 6th to pinch hit for your pitcher if you are in an NL ball park? The 5th would be just as good, especially if your starter was having an awful game and the team was in danger of being blown out.

Actually, it should be the 7th inning. A minor slip-up on my part. Innings 1-7, he has to hit if he's still in line with the Starter Pitching house rules.

Ace South-Paw No Match For Cubs!!!!!

Cubs solve tough southpaw John Danks, claim victory.

Apparently it didn't matter if the Cubs weren't familiar with the visitors from that other league, as they clubbed the White Sox 8-1 at Wrigley Field. Alfonso Soriano clubbed a home run and had 2 RBI's on the day. Jason Marquis gave the club 7 innings, allowing 4 hits to earn his 6th win of the season.

The series resumes tonight at Wrigley Field, with the Cubs' Sean Marshall (2-3, 3.40) and the White Sox' Jose Contreras (3-5, 5.94) set as the probable starting pitchers.

O's double up Brewers to win 4th straight!!!!!

Milwaukee, WI - The roll continued for the Orioles tonight once again. Trailing 3-1 heading into the 5th inning, the Orioles put up 5 runs in the top half, keyed by a 2-RBI single by Luke Scott and a 2 out triple to the gap in right center to score Scott. Nick Markakis, who began the scoring on the night with an RBI single, added a 9th inning single as well to cap off an 8-4 "Birds" victory. Despite giving up 3 long balls, Garrett Olson picked up his 5th win of the year and Jamie Walker, who got to remain in the game after the Markakis RBI single in the top of the 9th, picked up save number two on the year by sending the Brewers to the showers in order. Walker also got a huge out when he relieved Olson in the 7th, striking out Prince Fielder, who represented the tying run. Brian Roberts was named player of the game as he picked up 3 hits and his 26th steal of the year. The O's will go for the sweep tomorrow, before an off day.

Sure don't man. It was crazy last night. We left right after State went up 38-24, the weather was starting to get really ugly. Just glad nothing happened afterwards. I think they have a huge chance this year if they can get by Ohio State. It's almost like a few years ago when one play from Michigan kept PSU from going to a National Title game. This whole season, especially yesterday is just nuts.
