Hey Highheat, I hope so. However, what team do you think I should use for my NCAA 09 dynasty?

        Jeff Manship Collects First Win!!!!!

Jeff Manship picks up first big-league win in Twins victory.

It was no big deal as the Minnesota Twins blanked the San Diego Padres 4-0 on the road at Petco Park. Manship allowed only 5 hits and struck out 4 batters in the outing. Brendan Harris homered and also drove in 2 runs to pace the Twins offense.

O's winning streak snapped by Marquis performance!!!!!

Chicago, IL - It took a great pitching performance by Cubs starter Jason Marquis to cool off the visitors from Baltimore. Jason Marquis went 8.0 innings, allowing only 1 run on 7 hits to improve his record to 7-4 on the season and keep the Cubs above the .500 mark. In the top of the very 1st inning, Brian Roberts led the game off with a double into the gap in left center field which made it feel once again it would be the O's night, but the "Birds" were unable to plate Roberts. It ended up being the difference in tonight's affair, as in the bottom of the 3rd, Jim Edmonds connected on his 6th home run of the season following a Mark DeRosa double to put the Cubs out in front 2-0. That would be all that Marquis and the Cubs needed tonight. Instead of Kerry Wood, the home team turned to Neal Cotts in the 9th who shut down the O's last effort in order to seal their fate. Steve Trachsel took the loss, despite going a strong 7.0 innings, allowing only 4 hits. Aubrey Huff continued to stay hot, now hitting in 15 straight games as the O's head to D.C. tomorrow to take on the stubborn Nationals who took 2 of 3 from the Orioles just a month ago.

Yankees Pick Up Win, Series Sweep!!!!!

New York wins again on the road, earn series sweep in Pittsburgh.

The Yankees came away with a narrow 9-8 win last night at PNC Park. Ross Ohlendorf picked up his 4th win of the season in relief as he allowed 1 run on just 2 hits in 2.1 innings. Hideki Matsui had 4 hits and drove in 4 runs. Closer Mariano Rivera picked up save number 30 on the year as the Yankees extended their phenomenal win streak to 13 games. Jason Giambi will take the Yankees along with his 19-game hitting streak back to New York, but head across town to Shea Stadium as the Yankees and Mets clash in the annual subway series.

Re: Highheat's Orioles (MLB "The Show" '08) Final Attempt!!!!

I need some help guys with a decision. In my house rule for AAA/MLB movements, I have the following:

At the 40, 80, 120 game mark, a fielder, reliever and starter will be moved up/down to the big squad based on average, ERA, and Win/Loss record respectively.

What I need from you guys is this. Please give me a PM though with your decision as I don't want to take up a couple pages on my dynasty page for this.

I have the starting pitcher moving up and down based on Win/Loss. Steve Trachsel is 6-8 and Jeremy Guthrie is 5-7. I don't feel like it's fair to punish Trachsel because he has more wins, but Guthrie shouldn't be punished because he has less losses. I'm debating, as I think maybe I need to change this to Win % for starting pitchers. Radhames Liz is the lowest, but doesn't qualify because starters moved must have pitched at least 1/2 starts of the 5 man rotation, which he falls one game short. What do you guys think? Should I go with most losses or worst win %? I enjoy letting you guys into my franchise and want you guys to feel like you are a part of the decision process as well. I will take votes up until 5:00 PM EST tomorrow and then I'll make the decision. Thanks in advance. You guys are awesome.

Also, I've made the following change to the house rules.

If an injury occurs, I will hit the auto assign button to determine the outcome of a player. The AI will automatically designate who replaces that player on all levels.

Punishment On Capital "Hill". O's fall short to pesky Nats with rally in 9th!!!!!

Washington, DC - Even though the Nationals are the worst team in baseball, entering the night at 19-61, they sure know how to get under the skin of their rivals up the road. The Nationals jumped all over Garrett Olson throughout the game. Demitri Young homered in the 2nd to start the evening off and the "Nats" eventually got off to a 5-0 lead by the end of the 5th inning. Shawn Hill was phenomenal, on his way to picking up his 6th win of the season by going 8.0 IP, allowing only 1 run on 6 hits. The O's made it interesting in the 9th. With the Nationals up 6-1, the O's scored 4 times, capped by a Freddie Bynum 3-run home run with 2 outs, but closer Chad Cordero settled down and got Luke Scott to ground out in a pinch-hitting role to end the ballgame. On a side note, Melvin Mora picked up his 100th career stolen base and Aubrey Huff extended his team high hitting streak to 16 games. The O's will try to get back to what gave them their 7-game winning streak tomorrow night as both teams go at it again in the nation's capital.

                        Mets Defeat Top Rival!!!!!

Mets collect win against much hated Yankees.

Last night the Mets gave their fans a respite from the harsh reality of their lives, winning 3-2 over the Yankees at Shea Stadium. Johan Santana allowed only 1 run and just 1 hit in 6.1 innings, but left with a no-decision. Pedro Feliciano was able to pick up the victory in relief, his 4th of the season with offensive help from Jose Reyes, who drilled a solo home run and went 2-for-4 on the night. In a losing effort, Jason Giambi remained hot at the dish, extending his hitting streak to an astounding 19 games.

Redding Falls To 0-11 as Loewen impresses in season debut!!!!!

Washington, DC - At the half way mark of the Major League Baseball season, something had to give between two last place teams, who were sending two guys to the mound without a win. Tim Redding took the ball for the Nationals with a despicable 0-10 record against Adam Loewen, who only got the call up from Norfolk for the Orioles because Troy Patton was on the disabled list. Adam Loewen was the one who would prevail, being named player of the game, by going 6.0 innings, allowing 2 runs on 6 hits and recorded 3 strikeouts in his debut. Loewen even helped his own cause by driving in a run in the 2nd inning. The game was tied 2-2 heading into the 5th inning, when the "Birds" would have a memorable inning. With 2 outs, Luke Scott broke out of his mini slump with a single to center field scoring Brian Roberts to give the O's a 3-2 lead. Aubrey Huff would then extend his hitting streak to 20 games by crushing one into the right center field gap to score Scott all the way from first. Then, Ramon Hernandez would cap off the inning by capturing his 1000th career hit, an RBI single to center to score Aubrey Huff. That would be all the O's would need as Jamie Walker worked the 7th and 8th, then George Sherrill recorded his 20th save of the season to improve the O's record to 34-47 at the half way mark. The two teams will battle it out for the series tomorrow before the O's head home to take on Kansas City.
