      Cardinals Earn Tough Win!!!!!

      Cardinals edge Nationals in nail-biter.

The Cardinals were in Washington last night, busy edging the Nationals 3-2 in a one-run contest played in front of 12,623 fans at Nationals Park. Juan Encarnacion picked up 1 RBI and went 1-for-1 on the day. Starter Adam Wainwright worked 6.2 innings and allowed 2 runs and 8 hits, but he wasn't around when the game was decided, though he does record his 8th quality start of the season. Coming into a tie game, Ryan Franklin was able to snatch a win, his 7th of the season, pitching 1.1 innings in relief of Adam Wainwright.

The Cardinals can wrap up the sweep tonight at Nationals Park behind Todd Wellemeyer (5-2, 2.37), who's facing the Nationals' Shawn Hill (3-6, 4.75).

Twins strike early to capture rubber game!!!!!

Minneapolis, MN - The Twins jumped out to an early 6-0 lead after just 2 innings and went on to capture the series tonight. Justin Morneau doubled twice and drove in 4 runs to lead the way for the Twins. Minnesota starter Phil Humber went 6.0 strong innings to earn his 3rd victory of the year to improve to 3-3. The O's despite getting the offense going with 11 hits, could only muster 2 runs on the evening. Freddie Bynum continued to stay hot going 2-for-3 with a triple on the night, but Melvin Mora continued to slump as he completed the series 0-for-12. The Orioles skipper promises some changes to the lineup as the "Birds" will fly from one dome to another as they continue their road trip north of the border in Toronto beginning tomorrow night.

LOL!!! Yeah, unfortunately they are better than me, like most teams, but just gotta keep going at it. I see you're on a little mini roll with your Giants. Keep it up man, make September interesting.

                          June 6th, 2008

Cubs Win First Game Of Series!!!!!

Cubs pull out win on the road, take 1-0 series lead.

Last night the Cubs and Dodgers logged some overtime, as the Cubs finally won 8-3 in 11 innings, with a crowd of 56,173 on hand at Dodger Stadium. Kosuke Fukudome was a force offensively, going 3-for-6 with a home run and 3 RBI's to lead the charge. Carlos Zambrano pitched a solid 7 frames, giving up 3 runs and 7 hits to earn a quality start, his 7th of the season, but he was unable to get the win. Working in the extra frames, Michael Wuertz picked up the win, allowing no runs on no hits in 2 innings.

The Dodgers look to get back on track tonight in Game 2, and they'll have their best pitcher going -- Brad Penny (6-2, 1.60) -- while the Cubs will counter with Angel Guzman (1-1, 4.09). Aramis Ramirez looks to build on his 11-game hitting streak.

With Bynum's average, you would think that his OBP would be much higher than it is.

Something just doesn't look right when Bynum, Cintron and Huff are hitting better than the "Golden Greek", Nick Markakis.

Daniel Cabrera and Steve Trachsel, amazing as it may seem, are having strong years for you so far, but trying to get to Sherrill looks to be a chore as it seems the pen is having an up-and-down season.

Do you expect changes, if any, as you get closer to the trade deadline at the end of next month?
If you can read this, thank a teacher. If you can read this in english, thank a soldier.

Yeah, Nick has been either hit or miss this year. I have some changes coming once he gets back in the lineup. I'm thinking of putting him in the 2 hole and dropping Mora to 6. He's still out a couple more days. It's funny, when I had Bynum batting in the 7th, 8th slot, he was killing the ball. I moved him to leadoff for about 2 weeks and bam, there went the average. Last game I put him back down in the order and he had 2 hits including a triple. Cintron has been solid all year for me and Huff has been my main man the last month. He really turned it on. I really like Scott at 3 and Huff in the cleanup role.

Cabrera has been great so far, Trachsel has been a pleasant surprise. Guthrie is junk. Every fastball I throw with him, I hold my breath, they all go straight down the middle no matter where I put the analog. I hope I get an offer for him. Bradford is my only guy I know I can go to every time and not have to pull my hair out. He's only had one bad game. Getting to Sherrill is mind boggling at times and even when he's in the game, it's hit or miss with him. He's struggled lately and has gotten lucky a couple times.

As for changes, I'm hoping I get some great offers. Especially in the pitching department, but would take a good hitter as well. We'll see. If not, I'm going to fight and hopefully make a run. It's a long shot, but if not, I hope I get some help in the off season. Thanks for following man.
