Red Sox stun "Birds" with 9th inning rally!!!!!

Baltimore, MD - The Orioles continued to give their fans reasons not to show faith in this team once again tonight at the ball park and the Red Sox showed why they are the best team in the division. With 2 outs in the 9th, the Red Sox rallied to overtake the Orioles and capture another divisional win. David Ortiz delivered a double to left field to begin the rally. George Sherrill came within one strike against Kevin Youkilis of ending the ballgame, but Youkilis took a 1-2 fastball into center field to tie the game at 2-2. The very next hitter, Mike Lowell took one out of the park off the foul pole in left to give Boston a 4-2 lead and Jonahthan Papelbon did what Sherrill couldn't do, and slammed the door on the "Birds" and sent the Orioles fans home in disappointment once again. You could tell throughout the game that fate would not be with the "Birds" tonight, in the 4th inning with the game tied at 1-1 and Freddie Bynum at 1st, Melvin Mora hit a deep shot to the gap in right center, only to have it bounce over the wall for a ground-ruled double to keep Bynum from scoring with 2 outs. Markakis then grounded out to end the inning. Then in the 7th, the O's got runners at 1st and 3rd leading 2-1 and with 1 out, but were unable to provide any insurance runs for the bullpen. Hideki Okajima ended up with his 1st win of 2008. The O's will try to put this one behind them as they continue the series tomorrow.

                  Cubs Get The "W"!!!!!

Nice game for the Cubs, as they score win over Rockies.

The Cubs gave the fans at Wrigley Field (all 33,565 of them) something to be glad about, nipping the Rockies in last night's game by the final score of 2-1. Aramis Ramirez sparked the offense, going 2-for-4 and driving in 1 run. Sean Marshall worked the first 6.2 innings, allowing 5 hits and 1 run to earn victory number 1 of the season.

The Cubs and Rockies square off again tonight at Wrigley Field, with ace Carlos Zambrano (4-6, 3.45) going for the Cubs against Franklin Morales (0-3, 4.32) and the Rockies.

Dance class is closed as "Birds" launch attack on Sox's knuckler!!!!!

Baltimore, MD - The "Birds" must have put yesterday aside in a hurry, because they came out flying high tonight at the "Yard". The Orioles sent 11 batters to the plate in the opening inning against Red Sox knuckleballer Tim Wakefield. Melvin Mora began things on the first pitch he saw from Wakefield, sending it into the double stacked bullpens in left center field. Later in the inning, the O's loaded the bases and Kevin Millar delivered a crushing Grand Slam home run into the seats in left field. Freddie Bynum then added a sacrifice fly to left field to score Ramon Hernandez and before Jeremy Guthrie could take the mound, he had a 6-run cushion. The Red Sox mounted a comeback and had opportunities to get even on a few occassions, but tonight, the Orioles would learn from their mistakes from yesterday. Orioles starter, Jeremy Guthrie struggled, but pitched well enough to earn the victory, mainly due to the relief efforts of Jim Johnson, who relieved him in the 5th. With the Orioles leading 7-4 in the 9th inning, they turned to closer George Sherrill, who blew the save last night. George gave up a base hit to Ortiz and walked Manny Ramirez to start the inning, but got J.D. Drew to ground into a huge 5,4,3 double play and got Dustin Pedroia to ground out to 3rd to end the ballgame. The two teams will close the series tomorrow night.

LOL!!! Yeah, that game this morning was so depressing. I think that's the most I've ever been depressed after playing a game in my life. I literally sat there in the chair with that "look". No reaction what-so-ever and just shook my head continuously. Oh well, it's all better now. That 1st inning in the last game was so great. I wish I could play like that all the time. Just a reminder, I have a AA/AAA starter move and trade block reassignment next game.

Hopefully, Boston can take the rubber match of the series.

Haha, naw, I'll root for you since it's only a video game. That first game must have been painful!

LOL!!! There I go again, feeling that love in Baltimore. Just like real life when you go to a Red Sox/Orioles game at Camden Yards, 3/4 of the fans are Red Sox fans. It was brutal, but that last game made up for it, even though the whole game after being up 6-0, I still thought I might lose.

                                Victory Has Indians Thinking Sweep!!!!!

Game two, like game one, goes to visiting Indians, who lead series 2-0.

On the road at Kauffman Stadium, the Indians grabbed a narrow 1-0 victory over the Royals yesterday. Cliff Lee was the star on the mound, hurling 7.1 scoreless frames in picking up his 4th win of the season. Travis Hafner banged out 3 hits in 4 at-bats, settin the table for the Indians.

The two teams wrap up the series this afternoon, with C. C. Sabathia (6-3, 3.62) and the Indians set to take on Zack Greinke (3-5, 4.42) and the Royals.
