Yankees offense to much for Orioles pitching!!!!!
Baltimore, MD - The Yankees got their offense going tonight against Orioles starter Radhames Liz. Alex Rodriguez welcomed Liz to the game in the 1st inning with a solo home run. That was followed by a Jorge Posada RBI single to give the "Bombers" an early 2-0 lead. They would get it to 3-0 before the O's came storming back, capped by a 2-run home run by "Birds" 2nd baseman Brian Roberts to tie the game at 3-3 all. Jamie Walker then relieved Matt Albers, who went 4.1 IP to keep the Orioles in the ball game, but Walker wasn't very effective tonight as the Yankees jumped all over him in the 8th and got a bases loaded 2-RBI single by Melky Cabrera to give the Yankees insurance after Walker beaned Abreu the previous at-bat with the bases loaded to give the Yankess back the lead. The O's threatened in the 9th inning, getting the potential tying run to the plate, but Mariano Rivera earned his 18th save of the season by getting Kevin Millar to pop out to Rodriguez at 3rd base to end the ballgame. Both teams will battle one more time tomorrow night.

Mets Win To Square Series!!!!!
Mets, Marlins tied after two games as Mets win second game of series in New York.
The Mets squeaked out a 7-6 win over the Marlins last night in front of 41,919 fans at Shea Stadium, pinning a one-run loss on the visitors from Florida. Carlos Delgado provided the firepower, with a home run and 3 RBI's as part of a 2 for 3 day at the plate. John Maine wasn't bad, allowing 3 runs over 6 innings, but all he has to show for it is a no-decision. Working in relief of John Maine, Scott Schoeneweis came into a tie game and vultured his 3rd win of the season, pitching 1 inning and allowing no runs.
The Mets and Marlins finish off their series under the lights at Shea Stadium, as the home team gives the starting assignment to Pedro Martinez (4-2, 3.24) while the visitors turn to Josh Johnson (2-1, 4.88).
