Yeah, pretty embarrassing, huh? I should've seen it coming, I always struggle against teams like that in any game. I just can't handle the pressure I guess when it comes to playing a team you know is below you. As far as the rotation/lineup, just insert Liz for Burres and insert Roberson with Jones' spot on the bench.

Orioles look for answers as Nats continue to become pests!!!!!

Baltimore, MD - The Orioles once again fell flat at home tonight against their National League rival. Baltimore dropped their 4th consecutive game tonight as the Nationals jumped out early against O's starter Steve Trachsel. The Nats got 2 in the first inning off of a double by Willie Mo Pena followed by an RBI single by Elijah Dukes. The O's answered back and things started to look up for the struggling "Birds" when Aubrey Huff extended his hitting streak to 13 games with a 2-run home run off of John Lannan to even the game at 2-2 after the 1st inning. The Nationals got the next three runs of the ballgame until the bottom of the 6th, when Chris Roberson got his first RBI as an Oriole at the big league level to make it a 5-3 game. The O's loaded the bases in the 8th with 2 outs, but Melvin Mora lined out to 2nd base to end the rally. Chad Cordero once again slammed the door shut in the 9th to give Washington a rare 2-game winning streak and a chance to sweep the Orioles tomorrow afternoon.

                    And The Streak Continues!!!!!

Dodgers win streak at 6 after they beat the Angels at Angel Stadium of Anaheim.

On the road, under the lights, and playing an interleague game? No big deal for the Dodgers, who were on the winning end of a 7-3 decision over the Angels at Angel Stadium of Anaheim. Matt Kemp provided the offense, collecting 3 hits -- including a home run -- and 3 RBI's. Derek Lowe went the first 6 innings, allowing 3 runs and 7 hits, good enough to win his 5th in a row and 6th of the season.

The Dodgers can sweep the series with a win today at Angel Stadium of Anaheim, where D.J. Houlton (1-1, 6.94) and John Lackey (3-3, 4.18) are the projected starters. Andre Ethier looks to build on his 15-game hitting streak.

Orioles avoid sweep behind Olson's gem!!!!!

Baltimore, MD - The Orioles avoided a sweep at the hands of the Nationals this afternoon behind Garrett Olson, who earned his 3rd straight victory by pitching 7 phenomenal innings, giving up only 1 run on 5 hits. The game was tied at 1-1 in the bottom of the 4th inning when Nick Markakis finally broke through with a 2-run home into the stacked bullpens in left centerfield, a part of a 3 for 4 night for Nick, to push the lead to 3-1. That would be it for the scoreboard the rest of the night, as the "Birds" setup man Chad Bradford and closer George Sherrill were perfect again, slamming the door shut and salvaging the finale for Baltimore. The O's pulled into a tie with the Rays for 4th place in the division as they have an off day tomorrow before a 13 game span against rivals New York, Tampa Bay, and Boston.

Re: Highheat's Orioles (MLB "The Show" '08) Final Attempt!!!!

Hey guys, in something non-related to my dynasty going on here, I've added a poll to get some opinions on what dynasties you would like to see me adventure upon the most this fall. I'll probably be getting all 3 games, along with Fable II and Infinite Undiscovery mixed in there, but I'm going to wait until all the patches and sliders for the NCAA/Madden games. I'm really looking forward to the NHL 09 game the most. Please feel free to vote, but please don't reply in this thread on your vote unless it's thrown in there with something related to my baseball dynasty. Of course, this baseball one will run until MLB 09 comes around as well. Thanks again for all your support guys.

                              Giants Drop Ace Right-Hander!!!!!

The Giants get the best of Jose Contreras.

In what turned out to be a close game, the Giants pushed just enough runs across against the White Sox to claim a 5-3 victory at home. Fred Lewis knocked in 2 runs, going 2 for 3 on the day with a home run. Adam Cowart was effective enough to earn his 1st win of the season, allowing 3 runs on 7 hits over 6 innings.

The Giants travel to Colorado for the first game of a 9-game road trip, with Tim Lincecum (3-2, 2.65) scheduled to go up against Franklin Morales (0-1, 3.00) tonight at Coors Field. Dan Ortmeier looks to build on his 10-game hitting streak.

Re: Highheat's Orioles (MLB "The Show" '08) Final Attempt!!!!

OK, I was talking to a friend of mine at work at what I should do involving the promotions on my team. I didn't want to effect my Orioles club as much as I want players moving throughout the AA-AAA level. So he gave me a formula he uses for his sports games and suggested this. I will be using this for here on out.

                                Promotions

(All Fielders/Relivers must have played 1/3 of games at that level and Starters must have pitched at least 2/3 of minimal starts in a 5 man rotation.)

                                AA-AAA

10th of each month - send a fielder up/down based on average.

20th of each month - send a relief pitcher up/down based on ERA.

1st of each month - send a starter up/down based on ERA.

                                MLB/AAA

At the 40, 80, 120 game mark, a fielder, reliever and starter will be moved up/down to the big squad based on average, ERA, and Win/Loss record respectively.
