Boston Massacre!!!!! O's slay Red Sox 15-2 at Fenway!!!!!

Boston, MA - The "Fenway Faithful" was in a bad mood tonight, both during and after the game, as most of the night, the echoing sounds of "boo birds" rained down on a team that may have made too many moves in the trade department trying to contend with the Yankees. It's one thing to want to contend, but messing with team chemistry is another thing that's hard to replace. The Sox may have just did that very thing in the past week. You could see that the home team was going to be a long evening at the ballpark very early when the very first batter of the game, Brian Roberts took a fastball off on Red Sox starter Michael Bowden over the "Green Monster" to give the visitors a 1-0 lead. It wasn't long after that, that the Orioles put up a history making night. The O's went on to score 15 times on 23 hits, all via singles and the long ball. In the 2nd, the "Birds" batted around to score 5 times to give them a 6-0 lead. The Orioles got 3 more in the 5th and then in the 6th, Ramon Hernandez delivered a solo home run of his own over the "Monster" in left to push the O's to a 10-0 lead. Manny Ramirez would deliver his team high 25th home run in the last of the 6th to make it 10-2, but that would be all the offense Boston would get off of O's starter Radhames Liz, who picked up his 3rd win of 2008. Luke Scott got into the action in the 7th, crushing a 3-run home run to add to his team highs in home runs and RBI's, numbers 17 and 60 respectively. The Orioles fans knew that something special was going on as in the top of the 8th, Adam Jones came off the bench as a pinch-hitter and took one off the "Pesky" pole in right field for his only home run of the year. The O's will look to stay red hot as they head into the All-Star break when the two teams do it again tomorrow night.

You should have pounded the Bosox in that game. The pitcher is definately not ready for "the show".

I think that you may still need a complete collapse by the "other flock of birds" in the division in order to sneak into third place in the ALE but good luck trying to get there.

Yeah guys, that one felt really great. I may not win another game this series, but holy cow, I didn't think my team had it in them to play such a game. Even .121 Adam Jones stepped up and belted out one. Sometimes the sun shines on a,,,,,,well you guys know the saying.

                  July 12th, 2008

                  Yankees Take Game One!!!!!

The visiting Yankees grab a win, taking a 1-0 series lead.

In front of a hostile crowd at Rogers Centre last night, the Yankees humiliated the host Blue Jays 11-2. Jason Giambi played home run derby, clubbing 2 home runs and driving in 5 runs while going 3-for-5 at the dish. Mike Mussina pitched only 5 innings, allowing 2 runs and 4 hits, but he was able to garner his 7th win of the season with plenty of help from his mates in the bullpen.

Alex Rios, who is working on a 10-game hitting streak will try to jump start the Blue Jays as the series continues with a day game this afternoon.

Boston, MA - Josh Beckett did what only a few in Major League Baseball history have done tonight at Fenway Park. Josh faced the minimum 27 Oriole batters in the game, allowing no runs on just 2 hits, with help from two Ramon Hernandez ground ball double plays. Beckett also recorded 11 strikeouts on the night in route to his 11th win of the season just one game removed from the All-Star break. Manny Ramirez was the hero at the dish again tonight delivering 2 monster home runs, a 2-run shot in the 1st and a solo shot in the 4th. Jacoby Ellsbury also delivered a 2-run home run of his own as the Red Sox evened the series with a 5-0 shutout. The two teams wrap up the series tomorrow to lead into the "Summer Classic".

The Rockies silenced the crowd at Shea Stadium yesterday afternoon with a 6-4 win over the Mets. Garrett Atkins launched a solo home run and collected two other hits in the victory. Aaron Cook allowed 3 runs on 8 hits in 7 innings of work to earn his 5th win of the season.

Cheery O's!!!!! Olson comes within 5 outs of making history as "Birds" wrap up series in Boston with 3-1 victory!!!!!

Boston, MA - Orioles' starter Garrett Olson was the story tonight at Fenway Park. Garrett received a standing ovation from the Fenway faithful, showing signs of respect for the "Birds" rookie, after going 7.1 innings of no-hit baseball against one of the most lethal line-ups in the game. Jacoby Ellsbury was the man who ended the opportunity in the 8th with a 1-out single past the diving glove of shortstop Alex Cintron. The game itself was a tight contest. It remained scoreless until the top of the 6th when Freddie Bynum singled to left to plate Cintron, giving the visitors a 1-0 lead. Bynum then went on to steal his 20th base of the season pushing the team total to 100 for the year. Guillermo Quiroz got into the action in the 7th, also plating Huff with an RBI single to left. The Red Sox got their only run of the game in the bottom of the 7th, recording it without a hit when Cintron's 2-out ground ball throw to first was up the line, allowing Sean Casey to score and making it a 2-1 game. In the 8th though, the O's leader Luke Scott crushed an RBI double off the Green Monster in left to plate Bynum for a 3-1 lead. After Olson surrendered the hit in the 8th, Chad Bradford shut down the "Sox" hitters, getting Manny Ramirez to ground into an inning ending double-play. George Sherrill would then put the Red Sox down in order in the 9th to pick up save number 26 on the year and giving the O's a 42-53 record at the All-Star break. Voting for the All-Star game ends tomorrow night and we will see if any of the Orioles will attend then.

Wow,so close, that would have been awesome.I actually had a pitcher pitch 8 no hit innings only to get hurt while batting in the bottom of the inning forcing him out of the game, his replacement allowed a hit to the first batter he faced, talk about a bummer
