Should I import this franchise into MLB The Show 17 and continue it....or should I keep going in 16 until the new rosters come out for 17?

That's a tough decision. What would you do about players who lose their likenesses? David Ortiz is a good example.

I just finished the demo game while my game finishes installing and this year plays incredible. I can't wait to play it more.

Yeah, I picked up 17 today. I may just leave it under wraps until the OSFM rosters are ready and just plug away with 16 until then....

            Game #103

            LOS ANGELES 6, ARIZONA 2 (10)

Nick Vincent can only watch as he served up a walk-off grand slam.

            7/29/16
Los Angeles, CA (AP) – The Arizona Diamondbacks got a great pitching performance from Shelby Miller on Friday night, but their bullpen fell apart and the Los Angeles Dodgers rallied for a stunning 6-2 extra inning victory. Adrian Gonzalez ended it with a walk-off grand slam in the bottom of the tenth to complete the late inning rally.

Andre Ethier hit the first pitch he saw in the ninth over the wall to tie it.
Shelby Miller saw a masterful pitching performance go to waste. He went 7 1/3 innings, allowing just five hits, whil estriking out five and walking one, and he left with a 2-0 lead. Tyler Clippard allowed a two out RBI single from Adrian Gonzalez, but he got out of the eighth with Arizona up 2-1.

In the ninth, closer Daniel Hudson's first pitch was hit into the bullpen by Andre Ethier to tie the game at 2-2. It was Ethier's 3rd on the year.

That setup the Gonzalez heroics in the tenth. Zack Godley came in to pitch and he gave up a leadoff single to Chase Utley, then he walked Carl Crawford. Nick Vincent came on and gave up a bloop single to Kiki Hernandez to load the bases.

Adrian Gonzalez worked the count to 2-2, then hammered a Vincent fastball over the wall in left to clear the bases and send the Dodger fans home happy. The loss prevented Arizona from extending their lead in the West as the Giants also lost.

Arizona got their offense from a second inning Socrates Brito two-out single and a seventh inning solo home run from Jake Lamb, his 13th on the year.

The series continues on Saturday night with Robbie Rae (7-5, 3.44) going up against Ross Stripling (9-7, 3.74). First pitch is 7:05 PDT.

              Game #104

              LOS ANGELES 4, ARIZONA 3

Justin Turner slides home safely as the Dodgers walk it off, again.

              7/30/16
Los Angeles, CA (AP) – The Los Angeles Dodgers suddenly find themselves back in the race for the National League West. On Saturday night, they once again rallied and won it in walk off fashion as the edged the Arizona Diamondbacks 4-3 to pull to within eight games of the lead. Carl Crawford lined a single to right, scoring Justin Turner for the Dodgers second straight walk off win.

Carl Crawford lines home the game winning single in the bottom of the ninth off of Randall Delgado.
Arizona (64-40) has now dropped four straight and eight out of ten, allowing the third-place Dodgers to move from 14 games back to just eight out. The Giants lost their third straight on Saturday and remain two back of the division leading Diamondbacks.

The Diamondbacks jumped in front in the second as Chris Owings hit a sac fly to center, allowing Jake Lamb to score. Lamb had hit a one-out double to left center and advanced to third on a Welington Castillo single to left.

Back-to-back RBI doubles from Carl Crawford and Yasmani Grandal off of Robbie Ray in the fifth put the Dodgers in front 2-1.

Arizona would get those two runs back in the top of the sixth. Paul Goldschmidt reached on an infield single with the bases loaded to score Ketel Marte. David Peralta then grounded into a 4-6-3 double play that allowed Phil Gosselin to score to push the DBacks back in front 3-2.

Dominic Leone came on in relief of Robbie Ray in the bottom of the sixth and gave up a lead off double to Corey Seager. Seager advanced to third on a wild pitch and scored on a Kike Hernandez ground out to second.

The Diamondbacks had a golden opportunity to retake the lead in the top of the eighth after a Socrates Brito leadoff single. He reached second on a wild pitch. Paul Goldschmidt then laced a single to left, but Brito got cut down at the plate on a perfect relay from Justin Turner.

Meanwhile, Randall Delgado was into his third inning on the mound for the Diamondbacks in the bottom of the ninth. He gave up a leadoff double to Justin Turner, and then a bloop single to right from Carl Crawford, allowing Turner to score the winning run.

Delgado pitched pretty well out of the pen, but fell to (6-3) on the season. He allowed just the one run on five hits.

Justin Turner, Carl Crawford, and Yasmany Grandal accounted for seven of the Dodgers ten hits. Turner scored twice, and Crawford drove in two.

Notes: Jean Segura left the game in the top of the first after lining a single to center. He then injured his leg on a throw over to first base. Details of the injury are not know, but he was unable to leave the field under his own power.

The series wraps on Sunday afternoon with Arizona's Nate Karns (8-2, 2.36) going up against Carlos Frias (0-0, 0.00).

                Segura Injured

Jean Segura was carried off the field on Saturday night.

                7/30/16
Los Angeles, CA (AP) - Jean Segura left the Arizona Diamondbacks game with the Los Angeles Dodgers in the top of the first inning on Saturday night after suffering a torn calf muscle. He injured the muscle trying to get back to first on a pick off attempt, after he lead off the game with a single to center.

The injury will likely keep him out 4-8 weeks and the Diamondbacks have placed him on the 15-day disabled list. They have recalled outfielder Peter O'Brien from Triple-A Reno to fill his roster spot.

Segura was hitting .275 in 98 games for the DBacks. He was third on the team with 11 home runs and 40 RBIs and he lead the Majors with 36 stolen bases.

                  Game #105

                  LOS ANGELES 5, ARIZONA 3

Andre Ethier was a DBacks killer in this series, hitting three home runs.

                  7/31/16
Los Angeles, CA (AP) – The Los Angeles Dodgers ran their winning streak to five games on Sunday afternoon as they completed a third straight walk off win, downing the struggling Arizona Diamondbacks 5-3 at a rainy Dodger Stadium. Andre Ethier hit a two-run home run off of Daniel Hudson in the bottom of the ninth to walk off the win, and move the Dodgers to within seven games of first-place Arizona.

The Dodgers (57-48) grabbed a 2-0 lead in the fourth on a two-run shot to right by Ethier. Yasmany Grandal then extended it to 3-0 in the fifth, hitting a solo shot to right off of Nate Karns.

The Diamondbacks would get off the mat in the seventh. Jake Lamb singled home David Peralta to get the DBacks on the scoreboard. Chris Herrmann then singled to center, scoring Lamb. Ketel Marte would line a single to left, scoring Socrates Brito to tie the game at 3-3.

Andre Chafin and Tyler Clippard would work two scoreless innings out of the bullpen to get the DBacks to the ninth. Daniel Hudson gave up a leadoff single to Adrian Gonzalez. He would get Cory Seager to line out, before giving up the meatball to Ethier. It was Ethier's second of the game, third of the series and fifth on the year. He came into the series hitting just .195 and went 4 for 9 with five RBIs in the series.

Arizona will now return home to host National League East leading Washington (62-43) and Milwaukee (51-54) on a six-game home stand. Tonight is the MLB trade deadline.

                        GREINKE TRADED!

Zack Greinke found it tough pitching in a hitter's park.

                        7/31/16
Phoenix, AZ (AP) - The Arizona Diamondbacks have pulled the plug on the Zack Greinke experiment after just four months. The 32-year-old signed a six year-$206M deal back in December and on Sunday night after the club lost their fifth straight game, he was traded to the New York Yankees. Arizona will get back a boatload of talent in catcher Brian McCann, starting pitcher Michael Pineda, and CF Jacoby Ellsbury.

Greinke struggled in his first season in the desert, going (7-10) with an ERA of 4.11. Prior to joining the DBacks, Greinke was a three time All-Star, two-time MLB ERA leader and the American League Cy Young in 2009.

Arizona gets back three starters from New York and have greatly improved their team heading into August. The 32-year-old McCann was hitting .283 with 25 home runs and 67 RBIs for the Yankees. The 32-year-old Ellsbury was hitting .278 with eight home runs, 20 RBIs and 26 stolen bases.

27-year-old Michael Pineda may be the key cog in the deal for the DBacks. He was 9-5 with an ERA of 3.17 with 118 strikeouts and only 34 walks.

                        Other deadline day deals saw:

The Indians acquired SP Drew Smyly from Tampa Bay in exchange for three prospects.

The Blue Jays picked up RP Kelvin Herrera from the Royals in exchange for two prospects.

The Nationals acquired SS Eduardo Nunez from the Twins for three prospects.

The Rangers acquired SP Sonny Gray from the A's in exchange for three prospects. The A's also traded away reliever Ryan Madson to the Cubs for a trio of prospects.

Wow, that Greinke trade will come with some immediate benefits. Great move. You had a poor finish to the month but you did great in the beginning. I'm excited to see how you do in the upcoming month with the additions you got from the Yankees.

                                Game #106

                                WASHINGTON 1, ARIZONA 0

Former Diamondback Max Scherzer was dominant on Monday night.

Phoenix, AZ (AP) – The Arizona Diamondbacks woes continued on Monday night as they extended their losing streak to six games in a 1-0 loss to the National League East leading Washington Nationals at Chase Field. Former Diamondback Max Scherzer tossed 6 1/3 shutout innings, allowing just four hits, while striking out five and walking one.

Clint Robinson makes a great running catch on Welington Castillo to end the ballgame.
Washington (63-43) would get the only run that they would need in the second inning on an Anthony Rendon RBI triple to center.

The debut of Michael Pineda (9-6) wasn't horrible, but the one mistake he made in the second cost the Dbacks. He went seven innings, allowing just the one earned run and five hits. He struck out seven and did not walk a batter.

Catcher Brian McCann went 0 for 4, while Jacoby Ellsbury went 1 for 4 with a double. He led off the seventh with that double, but did not score. Yasmany Tomas hit a fly to right, advancing Ellsbury to third. Paul Goldschmidt then struck out swinging, before Brian McCann flew out to deep left.

The Dbacks lead in the National League West has shrunk to just 1/2 game over the San Francisco Giants. Arizona has been in first place since May 1st. The series resumes on Tuesday evening with the Nats' Gio Gonzalez (7-6, 3.75) facing Archie Bradley (2-2, 3.13).
