    Game #107

    WASHINGTON 6, ARIZONA 2

Clint Robinson hit a big three-run home run in the first inning that proved to be the game winner.

    8/2/16
Phoenix, AZ (AP) – The Arizona Diamondbacks lost their seventh straight game on Tuesday evening, dropping a 6-2 decision to the red-hot Washington Nationals at Chase Field. Newcomer Eduardo Nunez led the way for the Nats, going 2 for 5 with an RBI and two runs scored.

Anthony Rendon manned the hot corner and robbed the DBacks a few times as he flashed the leather.
Washington (64-43) jumped on Dbacks started Archie Bradley right from the start, sending nine men to the plate and scoring five times in the top of the first inning. The inning was capped off with a two-out, three-run home run from Clint Robinson. Robinson had his 19 game hitting streak snapped on Monday night.

The Diamondbacks offense continues to struggle, managing just two runs on seven hits. Arizona is just (5-12) since the All-Star break and has won just two of its last 12 games.

Bradley (2-3) did manage to last five innings, pitching four scoreless innings after the rocky opening frame. He allowed eight hits, while striking out seven and walking two.

Gio Gonzalez (8-6) picked up the win for the Nats. He pitched eight innings, allowing just the two runs on six hits. He struck out three, while walking none. For the Nationals, it was their 11th win in their last 12 games.

The loss dropped Arizona 1/2 games back of San Francisco in the National League West. It is their first time out of first place since May 1st. The Dbacks still hold a Wild Card spot, sitting four games ahead of the Mets.

This series wraps on Wednesday afternoon with Tanner Roark (12-6, 1.58) going up against Shelby Miller (8-5, 2.63) as the DBacks look to avoid the sweep.

Dang! That's one heck of a trade with the Yankees! Great way to unload Greinke's massive contract and also get back some decent pieces.

Just beware of the defensive shift when McCann gets up to bat. Idk if it was just me (probably was lol), but I would hit right into the shift 9 times out of 10. Literally got to the point where he was just an automatic out, so in my last dynasty I traded him in like May or June and brought up Sanchez. Also, I hope you have fun with Ellsbury's speed.

I'll be looking forward to your updates for the rest of the season to see just how much Pineda, Ellsbury, and McCann impact your team!

Thanks for checking in. I was content on holding onto Greinke, but the Yankees called on deadline day, so we pulled the trigger. Seems like a pretty fair deal, especially when dealing with the Yankees.

We'll see if I get to the end of the season since I am just playing until the OSFM roster comes out for MLB 17.....but we'll see.

          Game #108

          WASHINGTON 10, ARIZONA 8

Bryce Harper drove in four with a bases loaded double and solo home run.

          8/3/16
Phoenix, AZ (AP) – The Arizona Diamondbacks struggles continued on Wednesday afternoon, falling 10-8 to the Washington Nationals at Chase Field and losing their eighth straight game. Bryce Harper led the offensive charge for the Nats, hitting a bases clearing double and solo home run going 2 for 4, scoring three and driving in four.

David Peralta made a beautiful diving catch in right.
Arizona (64-44) has now lost 11 of 13 and sits a game behind the Giants in the N.L. West, and just five games ahead of the Dodgers. They still have a firm hold on the Wild Card, four games clear of the Mets.

Arizona would grab the lead in this one early on with David Peralta driving in Paul Goldschmidt in the bottom of the first. But that lead did not last long as David Murphy drove in Ryan Zimmerman with a ground out to second to tie the game, in the top of the second.

Bryce Harper broke the tie in the sixth, hitting a solo home run to right off of Shelby Miller. It was his 31st on the year. Clint Robinson then followed that with a solo home run to left to put the Nats up 3-1.

Ketel Marte would get one back in the bottom of the sixth, hitting his second double of the game and driving in David Peralta.

But the Nats would blow it open in the top of the seventh, taking advantage of the DBacks bullpen. Zack Godley came in, in relief of Miller, and was no relief. He gave up a leadoff single and ground-rule double, then Ketel Marte could not handle a chopper that loaded the bases. The DBacks defense then made two straight force outs at the plate and it looked like Godley may work his way out of trouble. He had Bryce Harper down 1-2, when he hung a slider that Harper ripped into the right-centerfield gap, scoring all three runners to move the Nats out to a 6-2 lead. Ryan Zimmerman then greeted reliever Nick Vincent with a ringing double off the wall in right, scoring Harper to make it 7-2.

The Nats would build their lead to 10-3 in the top of the ninth with Clint Robinson and Anthony Rendon RBI groundouts. Those two runs would turn out to be huge as the DBacks put on their rally caps, scoring five times to cut the lead to 10-8. Chris Owings had a chance to tie it up, but he popped out to end the game and allow the Nats to complete the sweep.

Arizona will have tomorrow off before they welcome Milwaukee (51-55) in for a three game weekend series.

                  Game #109

                  MILWAUKEE 7, ARIZONA 2

Former DBack Aaron Hill hit a two-run double in the first inning.

                  8/5/16
Phoenix, AZ (AP) – The free fail continues for the Arizona Diamondbacks. On Friday night, the Dbacks dropped a 7-2 decision to the Milwaukee Brewers at Chase Field in the opener of a three game weekend series. The loss was Arizona's ninth straight and left them (5-14) since the All-Star break.

Tyler Thornburg tossed six strong innings to pick up the win for Milwaukee.
Milwaukee (52-55) jumped on the Robbie Ray and the Diamondbacks in the top of the first inning, sending eight men to the plate and scoring four runs.

Jonathan Villar grounded into a double play after Jonathan Lucroy opened the game with a single to left. The next five Brewers would reach base safely. Singles from Ryan Braun, Chris Carter, and Domingo Santana gave the Brewers a 1-0 lead. Former Diamondback Aaron Hill then ripped a double into right-center, scoring both Carter and Santana. Ramon Flores singled home Hill to make it 4-0 before the DBacks even came to the plate.

In the fourth, Robbie Ray once again got into some two-out trouble as Jonathan Villar laced a two-run single to center to put the Brewers up 6-0.

Villar would make it 7-0 in the top of the seventh. He singled to open the inning, then reached second on a passed ball. Ryan Braun lined a single to center to score Villar.

Arizona (64-45) would finally get on the board in the bottom of the seventh. David Peralta homered to right off of Tyler Thornburg. It was his 31st on the year. They would add a run in the ninth on a Chris Owings sacrifice fly.

Jonathan Villar led the Brewers, going 3 for 5 with two RBIs and a stolen base. Tyler Thornburg (2-2) picked up the win, going six plus innings, allowing just one run on five hits.

Robbie Ray (7-6) picked up the loss, pitching five innings and allowing six runs on nine hits. He struck out six and did not issue a walk.

The series resumes on Saturday evening with Milwaukee sending Zach Davies (8-7, 3.41) to the bump to go against Nate Karns (8-2, 2.47). First pitch os 5:10pm.

                    MILWAUKEE 5, ARIZONA 1

Chris Carter hit two bombs for the Brewers.

                    8/6/16
Phoenix, AZ (AP) – The slide has hit 10 games! On Saturday evening, the Milwaukee Brewers used the long ball to defeat the Arizona Diamondbacks 5-1 at Chase Field to send Arizona to their tenth consecutive loss. Chris Carter hit two solo home runs as Milwaukee hit four bombs to win their third straight game.

Zach Davies pitched eight solid innings for the Brewers.
Milwaukee (53-55) grabbed the lead in the top of the third as second baseman Colin Walsh hit a solo home run to right off of Nate Karns. Chris Carter would add a solo shot onto the pool deck in the top of the fourth to put the Brewers up 2-0.

Chris Carter hit his second solo home run of the game with one out in the seventh. He now has 22 home runs on the season.

Arizona (64-46) would get one back in the bottom of the seventh on a Ketel Marte sacrifice fly, scoring Jake Lamb. That would be the only blemish on rookie's Zach Davies evening. Davies went eight innings, allowing just the one run on seven hits. He struck out two and did not issue a walk.

Aaron Hill would add a little salt to the wound in the top of the eighth. The former Dback hit a solo home run off of Archie Bradley. It was his fifth on the season. The Brewers would add an insurance run in the ninth as Hill knocked in Chris Carter with an RBI single.

The series wraps on Sunday afternoon as the Dbacks look to end this long losing streak. Milwaukee will send Chris Capuano (5-2, 2.58) to the hill to face the new DBacks ace Michael Pineda (9-6, 3.08). First pitch is set for 1:10pm.

however, the people in charge have completely eradicated the ability to post anything other than comments. So there are about three of us maybe just two of us that are going to be looking for a new home.

my personal question is this... I use the end of the day inside the show video clip as part of my "reporting" each game. can or can you not post videos here and is it easy or more involved?

also, i must say I love your posting style have been using it for a very long time... without an article of course... but continued success here and in your game...

                          ARIZONA 4, MILWAUKEE 0

Michael Pineda tossed 7 1/3 shutout innings as the DBacks ended a 10 game skid..

                          8/7/16
Phoenix, AZ (AP) – The Arizona Diamondbacks finally ended their losing streak. On Sunday afternoon at Chase Field, the DBacks and Michael Pineda shut out the Milwaukee Brewers 4-0 to end a season high 10 game losing streak in the finale of their six-game home stand. Pineda pitched 7 1/3 innings, striking out 11 and walking none, while allowing just four hits.

Pineda struck out 11 to pick up his first win as a Diamondback.
Arizona (65-46) grabbed the lead in the second as Ketel Marte lined a single to left, scoring Brian McCann. The next pitch Phil Gosselin hit a fly ball to center. Kirk Nieuwenhuis caught it, then threw out David Peralta at the plate. Jonathan Lucroy then threw out Ketel Marte at second to complete the triple play.

Yasmany Tomas doubled the DBacks lead in the fourth, hitting a long solo home run into the left field bleachers off of Chris Capuano. Capuano then walked in a run in the fifth to make it 3-0 and end his afternoon.

Phil Gosselin would add an RBI single in the seventh to make it 4-0. But the story for Arizona was pitching. Pineda picked up his 10th win on the year and he got some help from the bullpen too. Tyler Clippard got the final five outs, all by strikeout as the Brewers struck out 16 times in this one.

Arizona will now head out east for six games as they play in New York for a three game series with the Mets before a weekend series in Boston against the Red Sox.

also, i must say I love your posting style have been using it for a very long time... without an article of course... but continued success here and in your game...

hope to see you and everyone else here as soon as OSFM drops this year...
You can post videos here and I did in one of my FIFA franchises. I just uploaded them to YouTube and linked them. Worked just fine.

                            Welcome!
