    2nd Half Surge Lifts Keydets, 69-57

    First Half

    Williams and Brownfield swish turnaround jumpers and after Mack puts in a layup, Chavis Holmes makes 1 of 2 free throws. Chavis Holmes drains 1 of 2 free throws then after Williams and Leasure trade jumpers, Williams and Leasure trade a pair of free throws. Lonon drops in a layup on a fast break then Wallace sinks a short turnaround jumper to pull Coastal Carolina to within four, 12-8, with just under 15:00 remaining. Williams nails a turnaround jumper and after Mosley makes two free throws, Brownfield puts in a layup to give VMI a ten point lead, 18-8, halfway through the opening period. Brennan banks in a runner then after Mosley lays in a rebound, Brennan sinks a short jumper. Sexton lays in a rebound and Leasure hits a 3pter and after Lonon makes 1 of 2 free throws and Williams buries a jumper, Harris lays in a rebound to pull the Chanticleers to within four, 23-19, with just under 5:00 to go. Harris makes two free throws and after Sargent and Pack trade layups, Richardson banks in a layup to tie the game. Chavis Holmes drains two free throws then after Sisinni hits a 3pter, Williams banks in a jumper to give the Keydets the lead at the half. VMI's Williams leads all scorers with 12 points and Leasure leads Coastal Carolina with 7.

    Second Half
    Mack makes 1 of 2 free throws and Leasure puts in a layup and after Brownfield sinks a short jumper, Leasure and Williams trade 3pters. Leasure drains a 3pter then Chavis Holmes drops in layup to pull VMI to within one, 37-36, with under 15:00 remaining. Leasure makes two free throws and after Chavis Holmes hits a 3pter, Harris and Lonon trade layups. Leasure cans a jumper then after Brownfield sinks 1 of 2 free throws, Williams converts a 3-point play and drops in a layup to give the Keydets a four point lead, 47-43, midway through the second half. Mosley tips in a rebound and after Mack makes two free throws, Williams nails a 3pter and a jumper. Brownfield lays in a rebound and Chavis Holmes buries a jumper and a layup then after Breeze converts a 3-point play, Brownfield lays in a rebound as VMI is on a 13-3 run and leads by 14, 62-48, with 5:00 to go. Lonon and Pack trade layups and after Lonon banks in a runner, Lonon and Harris trade layups. Kenon drains 1 of 2 free throws then Pack tips in a rebound and Richardson buries a 3pter as the Keydets coast and advance to the Big South finals.

        First Half

        Reid lays in a rebound and after Harris sinks a jumper, Lonon tosses in a layup. Jefferson and Chavis Holmes trade 3pters then after Williams puts in a couple of layups, Lonon makes 1 of 2 free throws to give VMI a three point lead, 10-7, with just under 15:00 remaining. Reid banks in a layup and after Williams and Travis Holmes sink jumpers, Mendenhall buries a 3pter and a jumper to tie the game. Reid puts in a layup then Chavis Holmes nails a 3pter to give the Keydets back the lead, 17-16, halfway through the first half. Williams and Jefferson trade layups and after Minnis cans a hook to give High Point the lead, Williams puts in a layup. Reid banks in a short turnaround jumper then after Williams drops in a layup, Harris hits a 3pter. Brownfield makes a pair of free throws to tie the game, 25-25, with under 5:00 to go. Reid hits a 3pter and puts in a layup then after Chavis Holmes makes two free throws, Mosley banks in a layup and Williams lays in a rebound to give VMI the lead. Hunter buries a 3pter and after Smigieski drops in a layup on a fast break, Chavis Holmes nails a 3pter to give the Keydets a five point lead at the half. VMI's Williams leads all scorers with 14 points and Reid leads High Point with 13.

        Second Half
        Sargent banks in a short jumper then after Minnis puts in a layup and Harris hits a 3pter, Sargent lays in a rebound. Minnis tips in a rebound and after Brownfield sinks a short turnaround jumper, Daniels tips in a rebound and Harris nails a 3pter to give High Point the lead, 44-43, with 15:00 remaining. Lonon banks in a layup on a fast break and Chavis Holmes drills a 3pter and after Reid and Williams trade layups, Sargent drains a short jumper. Minnis drops in a layup then after Chavis Holmes hits a 3pter, Reid and Williams trade layups. Reid converts a 3-point play then Brownfield lays in a rebound to give VMI a six point lead, 59-53, midway through the second half. Jefferson lays in a rebound then after Williams and Jefferson trade 3pters, Harris makes 1 of 2 free throws. Chavis Holmes buries a 3pter and after Minnis lays in a rebound, Chavis Holmes nails another 3pter. Reid puts in a layup then after Chavis Holmes hits yet another 3pter, Jefferson drains two free throws to pull the Panthers to within six, 71-65, with under 5:00 to go. Reid banks in a layup then after Williams makes 1 of 2 free throws, Smigieski puts in a layup. Chavis Holmes cans 1 of 2 free throws to put the Keydets up by four with under two minutes left. Jefferson converts a 3-point play with 40.5 seconds to play and High Point starts fouling. Lonon misses the front end of a 1-and-1 and the Panthers bring the ball up the court. Minnis misses a rushed 3-point shot but the ball is rebounded by Daniels and kicked out to Mack, who misses a 3-point shot at the buzzer and VMI holds on to win the Big South Tournament and the automatic bid to the NCAAs.

                            Keydets' Bomb Squad Explodes In 2nd Half, Stuns 14th Ranked Mountaineers, 82-69

                            First Half

                            Alexander slams in a dunk and Nichols drops in a layup then Alexander and Nichols each put in layups as West Virginia has an 8-0 lead with 15:00 remaining. Flowers puts in a layup and Nichols makes two free throws and after Mosley drains 1 of 2 free throws, Mazzulla banks in a layup and Kenon is injured on the play. Nichols buries a jumper and Mazzulla banks in a layup then after Mosley lays in a rebound, Alexander cans two free throws. Travis Holmes nails a jumper and after Mazzulla hits two free throws, Chavis Holmes sinks a runner to pull VMI to within 19, 28-9, halfway through the opening half. Chavis Holmes sinks a runner and after Mazzulla lays in a rebound, Alexander jams in a dunk. Alexander buries a 3pter then Williams drains a short turnaround jumper to pull the Keydets to within 22, 35-13, with 5:00 to go. Williams makes two free throws and after Sowards puts in a layup, Williams and Chavis Holmes bury 3pters. Nichols cans two free throws then after Williams drops in a layup, Ruoff hits a 3pter. With less than 30 seconds left, Williams drains a runner to pull VMI to within 17 at the half. Williams leads VMI with 13 points and Alexander leads West Virginia with 13.

                            Second Half
                            Chavis Holmes hits a 3pter then after Smalligan and Chavis Holmes trade jumpers, Williams puts in a layup on a fast break. Nichols drops in a layup on a fast break then Brownfield buries a jumper and a layup to pull VMI to within ten, 46-36, with just over 15:00 remaining. Chavis Holmes hits a 3pter and a jumper and after Ruoff lays in a rebound, Williams puts in a layup and Travis Holmes makes two free throws. Smalligan drops in a hook then after Travis Holmes drills a 3pter, Butler and Mosley trade two free throws. Williams buries a 3pter to give the Keydets the lead and Travis Holmes converts a 3-point play to cap a VMI 20-6 run and after Ruoff puts in a layup, Brownfield sinks a jumper to give the Keydets a four point lead, 58-54, midway through the second half. Travis Holmes and Alexander trade layups and after Lonon makes two free throws, Mazzulla cans 1 of 2 free throws. Williams puts in a couple of layups on fast breaks then after Chavis Holmes and Nichols trade 3pters, Williams nails a 3pter to give VMI a 12-point lead, 72-60, with just under 5:00 to go. Brownfield lays in a rebound and after Thoroughman makes 1 of 2 free throws, West nails a couple of 3pters to pull West Virginia to within seven. Sargent and Williams each put in layups then after Smalligan knocks down a short turnaround jumper, Sargent and Brownfield each drop in layups as VMI explodes for 57 points in the half and upsets the 14th ranked Mountaineers.
