A horrendous defender, but he could score the ball and play a little point, both things we desperately needed.

Finishes 25th all time in school history in points.

A tweener who I didn't think I'd like at the beginning of the year, but he ended up being pretty solid this year with some decent stats.

Solid defender who actually started and played some major minutes way back when. Came into the lineup because Serrano went down with an injury and then went down with an injury of his own, but his was a season-ender.

Strong rebounder who had some monster numbers some game, including 17 in one contest. Hit 12-33 from beyond the arc and had a better season than I thought he would.

Didn't see much playing time under the previous coach, but he really had a strong senior season. Seemed to be pretty inconsistent, but that's anecdotal. Shot the three well and rebounded a little bit, sadly one of my better defenders. Good player.

     1966 Freshman All-Conference (Southern Conference)
Given his rating out of high school, he really probably had a pretty disappointing career. He got hot late in the season and got his shooting percentage up to 41%, but he was a volume shooter who didn't contribute much else.

He ends up 9th all time in school history in points.
    35th all time in assists

      Offseason Changes

      1. I always bump up any power conference teams that have fallen below 70, back up to 70 to keep them afloat.

      2. As previously alluded to 91 prestige Pacific will move to the Pac-11, making it the Pac-12. They had been in the West Coast Conference. For now, the West Coast Conference will not replace Pacific, though they will be likely to soon with Sacramento State being the likely candidate.

      3. I decided to make a move that impacts our conference, the Southern. UNC Greensboro is being dropped to independent ball and is being replaced by 24 prestige USC-Aiken.

      4. 21 prestige Colorado State-Pueblo is moving from independent ball to the Frontier conference. They are just two years removed from an impressive CBI championship.

      5. 8 prestige Emporia State (KS) is being dropped from the Southland and is being replaced by Southeast Oklahoma State.

      6. Two new teams being added this year:
Sioux Falls Cougars in Sioux Falls, South Dakota

      and

Queens Knights in Flushing, New York

        Coaching staff changes:

I fire assistant coach Jorge Ruano and Recruiting Coordinator Russel Whitfield, because they are bad and I think can do better. I decide do keep William Favors on as scout.

I don't think we even do better, in fact I'm embarrassed to go look. Our new hires are a couple of 25 year old's getting their first coaching gig. Neal Carpenter, 38 recruiting and Garfield Lemieux, 51 offense, 3 defense. Not what I was hoping for.

          1970-71 schedule

I scheduled pretty easy, with just one legit school in there, Louisiana Tech. Besides that I'm hoping to give the freshman guards some opportunities for wins early on. Most teams are localish, with one exception, a home and home with Idaho State that starts with them visiting us. Our regular season also wraps up with a non-conference game at home against NJIT.

            First Recruiting Update

We have 4 scholarships to give this year, 3 graduating post players in Ramage, Woodworth and Sears and a perimeter player in Cotter.

We've got one early commitment and I feel pretty good about two more coming very soon.

As for the one we grabbed:

Looks like he really knows how to score the ball and will at least hold his own on the glass despite being a bit undersized. Maybe some defensive potential, but I've got a bad scout so who knows. Not good that he's so bad from the free throw line, but we don't get guys who can score like he can at this level if there aren't some big flaws to his game.

Comes in pretty developed as you'd hope from a JUCO and has the edge over Newlin right now because of it. Nothing on the defensive side of the ball, but does have a pretty solid offensive game and can pass it at least a little bit. Will start at point guard.

Had to play a lot of minutes down the stretch last year after the injury to Flores. He's one of the better defenders we have on the perimeter unfortunately and he can shoot the ball better than his 26% last year showed. He'll see playing time for sure.

Injured mid-year, but was having a promising year, even if he wasn't very aggressive. He's easily our best perimeter defender and has quick hands and should get some steals. He's a good athlete who might get a put back every once in a while. His offensive game is pretty much just catch and shoot, but for a 3 and D guy he's top notch for the Southern. He'll start at SF and play 30+ minutes.

Walk on who hit 8-10 shots last year in his 37 minutes. He does have legit offensive ability, though 80% is a bit much. He's a horrendous defender, has to be one of the worst in the nation.

Deon Ingram, 6'3", 171, Freshman, Concord, North Carolina

The freshman Ingram isn't much better defensively than Gattis, and I'm really kind of dismayed at how bad it is. On the bright side he is a superb athlete and has some point guard ability. Offensively, I know he'll be productive eventually, it's just if it will ever counter balance his defense.

Elliott Morey, 6'4', 187, Freshman, Church Hill, Tennessee

Definitely the freshman I'm most excited about, he's an excellent three point shooter who has the handles to take it to the basket and not just be stuck on the perimeter as a catch and shoot guy. I'm pretty optimistic about him and I think he can average 12-15 as a freshman.

Dwain Newlin, 6'2", 178, Freshman, Damascus, Virginia

Still pretty raw, but there is a lot of talent there. Will be a decent defender, his passing will improve quite a bit as the years go by, and he's already got a nice three point shot. He'll start off as the backup to Emerick, but there's certainly a possibility that could change at any point this season.

Had injury problems last season, including one at the very end that really hurt our chances down the stretch and in the conference tournament. I think he's easily the most important player on this year's team and needs to average 13 and 8 or so. He's got the ability to do it.

Our best defensive big. Blocks shots as well. He doesn't do much offensively, and he's not very helpful on the glass. His defense will get him 15 minutes again though.

A behemoth and someone who should dominate the boards from the word go. Defensively he's alright, and offensively he's not good for too much more than putbacks. But his size should help his field goal percentage and his rebounding numbers should be very impressive.

The walk-on turned scholarship player really does have some talent, he's just still so raw. Offensively is where he really has the potential, but he's not a bad defender and competes on the glass. The assistant want him to start next to Ramage, but I'm leaning towards having him on the bench.

Ian Clegg, 6'9", 221, Freshman, Gold Coast, Australia

The last second addition from Australia. Clegg is pretty raw but does have talent and I'm glad I took the plunge and offered him late. Rebounding his going to be his main attribute and he still has a lot of room to grown into that. He's got a soft touch around the basket, but he's too slow footed to b e much defensively. I wish he'd accept a redshirt.

Our starting lineup to begin the season will be:

                  1970-71 Game 1 Preview

November 16th, 1970 vs Liberty Flames
                  Conference: Big South

Liberty is an 11 prestige team that has had a pretty rough go of it the last 10 years. They have 4 NCAA appearances all time, the last coming in 1961-62. They had a good stretch in the 40's, but have been pretty bad outside of that.

PG: Willette, 6'2", Senior: 4 year starter that averaged 11.3 points and 6 assists last year. A true point guard that is primed for a major senior season. Can't defend though.

SG: Waites, 6'1", Senior: Started last year and averaged 10.7 points a game. Combo guardish, he's got a solid three point shot. Can't defend either.

SF: Collins, 6'7", Sophomore: Played 18 minutes a game last year. Kind of a 3/4 hybrid who is probably more comfortable inside.

PF: Scurry, 6'10", Sophomore: Played 13 minutes a game last year and averaged 4 points and 3 boards, has legit offensive talent and is solid on the glass.

C: Towle, 6'10", Senior: 3 year starter. Averaged 9.7 and 7.5 last year. Solid across the board, defends, rebounds, can score a little. Has no defining characteristic, though. Will shoot the three.

Bench: Bottoms is a 6'5" JUCO wing with some real offensive talent that should be able to score at a solid clip right away, but he like most guys on his team cannot defend. Huneycutt is a 6'10" freshman post with offensive talent, but you can probably guess about his defense. Dunleavy is the backup point guard and he's garbage.

Coach: James Fryer, 42 years old. 0-0 career record. 1st season at Liberty.

Strong recruiter and scout who has been an assistant at Penn State, La Salle and Villanova and a few other places before getting his first head job. He's not much of a coach, so he'll need to bring in talent to Lynchburg to survive.

They've got a good point guard and have a handful of guys who can score the ball, so they are dangerous in that way. As mentioned several times, they can't defend, so hopefully our guys can take advantage of that.

15:00 left, and we lead 10-8. Well, Morey likes to shoot it. He's already 3-7 from the field and 2-6 from three. Maybe 7 shots in 5 minutes is a bit much, but I'm excited by the volume he's showing, he'll be a conference scoring champ, I bet. So, he's got 8 of our 10 points right now.

                    9:08 left, we trail 15-26.
Morey is up to 10, Conner has 6 boards, so the new guys are showing up immediately. Sanders has 6 points in 6 minutes off the bench, but is stamina limits him so much. He's dog tired on the bench right now. Bracey picked up 3 fouls in 6 minutes and will be staying on the bench for the rest of the half.

3:31 left, we lead 37-28. Ingram came in for his first collegiate minutes and promptly got a steal and a layup and then hit a three on our next offensive possession.

At halftime we lead by the score of Appalachian State 42 - Liberty 34. Morey has already taken 13 shots and has the same number of points. Ingram hit another 3 and finished with 8 points in the first half in just 5 minutes. Sanders and Bracey both have 3 fouls a piece from the bench. Happy with our offense for the most part, and am really optimistic about how we will look in the next year or two. Emerick and Newlin evenly split minutes in the 1st half, and I imagine that will be the norm for a while as I try to figure out who the point guard will be.

Conner goes down with an injury with 17:50 left, which is a drag, because we're doing great, leading 49-34, and also he has 9 boards and 3 assists. He won't return and hopefully it isn't serious.

10:37 media timeout and we lead 58-47. Morey is up to 18 points in his collegiate debut. Emerick has had a nice second half, hitting a couple of threes and now is up to 8 points, though he has just 1 assist and 3 turnovers.

4:59 left and Liberty calls timeout. We lead 74-59. Morey has 24 and a couple more three pointers. Ramage has woken up a bit and has 12 points and 7 rebounds. Sanders has 9 points in 11 minutes, but both he and Bracey have 4 fouls and have been limited in playing time this game, even off the bench. Ian Clegg got 5 minutes at center for his collegiate debut, he managed a rebound.

Morey can't miss all of a sudden, he's made his last 4 three pointers and now has 30 points on 11-20 shooting and 8-15 from three. I call timeout to get subs in, and we lead 84-60 with 2:31.

The subs, but no walk-ons, mess around for a few and we end up with an aesthetically pleasing opening win with the score of Appalachian State 86 - Liberty 66. The obvious story is the freshman Elliott Morey who put in 30 in his debut, and it's an exciting thought that we have him for the next 4 seasons. Conner's injury isn't TOO bad, 2-3 weeks, he'll probably miss 3 games. Not sure who will take his place yet, Woodworth or Sanders.

                      November 21st, 1970 at Jacksonville Dolphins (0-1)
                      Conference: Atlantic Sun

Jacksonville is a 21 prestige team that has been in the Atlantic Sun from the beginning and they are in the middle of a rough decade plus. From about 1933 to 1953, Jacksonville was a power in the Atlantic Sun making the postseason most year and even having a few impressive runs. A Sweet Sixteen in 1941-42 and an NIT championship in 1948.

They lost their first game on the road by 14 to Richmond.

PG: Rodriguez, 5'10", Sophomore: Played 13 minutes a game last year and averaged 4 points. Pretty average guard.

SG: King, 6'0", Sophomore: Played 11 minutes a game last year. Good shooter, but isn't much more than a catch and shoot guy at 6'0".

SF: Williams, 6'6", Freshman: Had a rough go of it in his debut with 2 points in 25 minutes. Has good size and has some ball skills and will get on the glass and really just does a little bit of everything, does a good job getting to the basket.

PF: McCaskill, 6'8", Junior: Played 22 minutes a game last year with 8 starters. 4.3 points and 4.7 rebounds last year. Really good post defender has a nice touch around the basket.

C: Carranza, 6'9", Sophomore: Played 10 minutes a game last year. Not that great. Okay offensively and on the glass, but a really bad defender.

Bench: Libby is a 6'0" shooting guard who can get to the basket and gets on the glass. If he could play point he'd be a heck of a player. He'll be tough in a few years. The 5'10" Orgeta is another freshman with some talent, he's a little more defensive minded than Libby though and can play the point. A third freshman Toro is 6'6" and loves to attack the basket, and is good at it, but that's about all he can do. Labonte looks like their main post reserve. He's 6'7" and not very good.

Coach: Steeve Meekins, 61 years old. 147-263 career record. 10th season at Jacksonville.

He's an ace recruiter and scout but hopeless as a game coach. He's been at Jacksonville for a while and has yet to finish about .500 in conference. Probably time for him to be fired. Before Jacksonville he had a brief 3 year run as head coach at Arkansas-Monticello who gave up on him very quickly.

It's a road game, and our first one of the year, so there's always the chance things can get screwy, but they aren't very good, and any talent they have is either a freshman or sophomore. With Conner done for a few games, I decided to go with the defensive minded Woodworth in the lineup next to Ramage. Part of that is Sanders inability to play long stretches at a time.

Second media timeout of the game is at 11:55 and we trail 14-17. We've got foul problems with Ramage and Flores now both with 2, Newlin does as well. Morey has shot all three pointers, and is 2-6. It makes more sense to play Thomas Sears right now over Clegg, he's just better. So, I'll give him a few minutes at center.

And, of course, Sears has been great. He's got 4 points and 4 boards in his 5 minutes. Morey is up to 9 points, and the reserves have done a good job with Ramage and Flores on the bench.

I, uh, got into the game I guess and didn't really update as we get to halftime. Whoops. We're winning by the score of Appalachian State 40 - Jacksonville 27. Morey's got 16 points and is 5-9 from beyond the arc. Woodowrth has 6 points, which is a lot for him. Ramage played a little bit with 2 fouls and scored a few points and has 5.

With 13:17 left, we lead 57-44. Morey is at 22, Woodworth has 8 and 7, a career game. Sanders finally connected on a basket when he sunk a three right before the last play stoppage.

Ramage hits one of two at the line after the media time out with 7:40, and it puts our lead at 64-53. It gets Ramage to 13 and 5, and he's still hanging tough with just 3 fouls.

Morey makes a bad pass and it's a turnover, but it's okay because we're up 70-55 with 5:39 and Morey just hit back to back three pointers to get him up to 28 points.

We sputter a little bit down the stretch as we slow the pace down to use up clock, but our lead is too big for them to even threaten us. We win by the score of: Appalachian State 79 - Jacksonville 68. Morey ends up hitting 30 for the second time and goes 8-14 from three to put him at 16-29. A lot of numbers there, but it's pretty ridiculous, I thought he'd be good, but this is promising, even if those percentages are going to drop 10-20%. Ramage was active and ended up with 15 and 8, and if he can be right around there all season I'll be thrilled. Very little progress made in the Emerick/Newlin battle, neither was very good.

                          Conference: Atlantic Sun

East Tennessee (ETSU) is a 38 prestige coming off of a very strong year, it was their first 10+ win season in conference since the late 50's. Besides a little stretch in the early 50's, ETSU basketball has never been a whole lot. They've got 3 NCAA appearances, the last being in 1965-66.

The Bucs are off to an 0-3 start, but have played some pretty high level programs to start off. They've had a couple of injuries to guards and are currently on their third guy to start at the 2 this year with the injuries to Davis and Pierre. Davis particularly is a big loss for the Bucs, but he'll be back in a few weeks.

PG: Camp, 6'1'", Senior: Played 17 minutes a game last year, averaging almost 7 points. Can score some and will knock down some threes. Middling point guard skills.

SG: Anderson, 6'1", Sophomore: Played 3 minutes total last year as a freshman. Getting the start due to the aforementioned injuries, it's his first collegiate start. He's got a little bot of offensive punch, but is pretty underwhelming.

SF: Matherne, 6'10", Sophomore: Started last year and averaged 16.1 and 4.7 as a freshman. Off to a very bad start this year, just 6 points in 22 minutes, due to being in foul trouble every game. He's an excellent perimeter defender and did a very good job last year of getting inside and using his height to score, also shoots it a little bit, but isn't a threat from there.

PF: Kenner, 6'9", Junior: Started last year and averaged 7 and 7. Off to a great start this year and his 17 points a game is something he's capable of maintaining. Not much defensively but will block a shot or two.

C: Creasy, 6'9", Sophomore: Played 16.5 minutes last year averaging 5 and 3. Has nice offensive touch inside and is bothersome on the offensive glass. Bad defender.

Bench: Goff is a 6'4" junior who started 31 games as a freshman before playing just 7 minutes a game last year. He's a competent guard. Mangum is a 6'9" sophomore who is very similar to the guys he's behind in the depth chart, has some offensive ability and little else. With their guard injuries, their depth is really hurting and once you get past Goff there isn't much left

Coach: Jamel Davis, 64 years old. 0-3 career record. 1st season at ETSU.

He's not a great coach and there's a reason he was an assistant coach for nearly 30 years. Was at Florida International for two years most recently and Florida Gulf Coast for 10+ years and some other places before getting the ETSU gig at the age of 64.

They have some talented front line players at least offensively, but I like the chances of our zone doing a good job on them. I definitely have the advantage on the perimeter. It'd be nice if someone besides Morey could hit some threes. We have 25 made threes as a team in two games and 16 of those are from Morey.

15:37 left, we lead 9-4. Morey hasn't attempted a shot, but Emerick has hit a couple of three pointers and leads us with 6 points. Ramage has 3 points and already has snared 4 rebounds.

6:57 left we lead lead 26-18. Morey still hasn't taken a shot and has just a couple of free throws all game. I promise this thread won't just turn into the Morey update.

The halftime score is Appalachian State 31 - East Tennessee State 27. We hit a real cold spell down the stretch and it has our field goal percentage under 30% at halftime. Emerick and Newlin both ave 6 a piece, while Morey finally attempted a shot and missed a 3 to give 2 points at half. Ramage is 1-9 inside. I just realized that I didn't have Morey on as a key player offensively, but rather had Bracey clicked. That certainly would make a difference but probably not enough to explain one shot attempt.

It has indeed made a difference. Morey already has 8 points this half for a total of 10, and we have the lead 48-37 with 14:40 left. Ramage has also hit a couple of buckets and is at 7 points and 9 rebounds. Flores has a threes and has been getting to the free throw line and has 8 points, his career high is just 13.

11:51 left we lead 52-44. Scuffing a little bit offensively.

Media timeout with 7:38, and we lead 52-51. Now we're REALLY scuffling offensively. I'll have to go back and ctrl+f on the game log, but we must have been called for 4 or 5 charges this half, haven't scored since a Woodworth free throw with 13 minutes left.

It's turning into a shootout the last 5 minutes. Flores hits a three with 3:20 to tie the game at 64. We've been trading the basket the last 4 or 5 possessions with a handful of ties and lead changes the couple of minutes.

Ramage misses a couple of free throws and Flores misses a layup after a steal and with 1:16 left we're trailing 66-69 and ETSU has the ball.

ETSU doesn't get a shot off in 35 seconds, and we go down the court and Flores redeems himself with another three and with 34 seconds on the clock it is all tied at 69. I call timeout, I still have one left.

Camp who had been killing me all day hits another three at the buzzer and they win the game by the score: East Tennessee State 72 - Appalachian State 69. A bad loss and a choke job since we were controlling the game early in the second half. After I lambasted their guards in the preview, they go 11-28 from three and Camp hit 5 threes including the game winner. Morey got going a bit in the second half. Flores with a career high 16 points, though I probably shouldn't expect that too often.

3rd road game in a row for us, and Navy's the most talented of those three teams for sure. They brought back almost everyone from last year's team, so they've got experience as well.

PG: Wittman, 5'11", Junior: Hardly played last year, but is at 33 minutes a game so far this season. Decent shooter, but I think his 4 assists a game he's averaging right now is too high for his ratings.

SG: Steffens, 6'1", Junior: Started last year and averaged 13.5 a game. Really good shooter who has gotten off to a cold start. But he was 91-236 last year, good for 38.6%. Rebounds a little, a poor defender.

SF: Snelling, 6'4", Junior: Started last year and averaged 11 points and 6 boards. Attacks the rim a lot more than Steffens, and probably just shoots too many threes given his success there. Okay defender, but can generate some steals.

PF: Cray, 6'9", Senior: 4 year starter. Averaged 10 and 8.5 last year. Solid defensively and does a very good job on the glass. Has a three point shot, and is just under 40% for his career in 189 attempts from beyond the arc. Good player.

C: Dickerson, 6'11", Senior: Only played 4 games last year due to injury, but Averaged 11 and 7 too years ago in 1968-69. 5th year senior who redshirted last year after an early injury. He's really good and about everything you'd want your center to be. Blocks shots, gets on the glass and can score inside. His current averages of 17.3 and 12.5 are probably a bit high, but you get the point. Tough matchup for our undersized front line.

Bench: Richardson is a shot blocking 6'8" post, he doesn't do much else. He'll play some on the perimeter too. He did start last year though. McKnight is a capable offensive wing but doesn't play much. They really only go 6 deep with a handful of guys getting a smattering of minutes. A lot of guys move around the lineup I think. So, there are some depth issues.

Coach: Hal Coleman, 59 years old. 194-171 career record. 7th season at Navy.

Ace offensive coach and a strong recruiter. Spent 5 years at Howard before moving to the Naval Academy. He's a good coach and could probably go for one more promotion before he hangs them up.

Again, they are the most talented squad we've played so far and I imagine we're going to have problems with their front line. I sure wish Conner was available for this one.

We start off down 0-10 and I call timeout with 17:06. Not a great start. We have a tie for team lead with points with zero.

14:59 and we're down 0-18 so I call another timeout.

Morey gets fouled on the next possession and knocks down both free throws for our first points of the game. 2-18 with 14:50 left. Woodworth has 2 fouls.

11:38 left, we trail 8-22. Morey has hit a three. Ramage and Woodworth both have 2 fouls. Conner can actually play at 85%, and I think I'm going to give him a few minutes of playing time and hope he doesn't get injured.

We had them down to an 8 point lead, but then they blew up again and with 8:12 I call timeout and we're down 14-29. Morey has a few more baskets and is at 11 points, so obviously our scoring leader right now.

3:48 left we trail 27-44. Morey and Snelling both have 15 points for their respective team, but Navy has had a lot more help so far. I believe they are 6-10 from beyond the arc so far. Ramage came back in and picked up his 3rd foul.

The halftime score is Navy 46 - Appalachian State 35. It could be far worse, Morey has 18 points at half and has basically kept us afloat. Ramage and Woodworth have 3 fouls now, and it meant Conner ended up playing 9 minutes in the first half, where he had 5 rebounds. Navy finally started cooling down a bit towards the end of the half, so we've got a bit of a chance still. Need to not let them jump out to a 6-0 start or something to begin the half. The original starting lineup is in the game to start the second half.

                                11:32 left, we trail 55-67.
We've had some opportunities to get closer, but we keep turning the ball over and have 13 already to their 4. Morey has 24 points, and is 7-10 from beyond the arc to add to his ridiculous percentages. Emerick has hit a couple of shots in the second half. Ramage has 4 fouls and has been sitting for a while.

Navy calls timeout with 9:50 left, and we trail 61-67. I don't have a great lineup there right now, just two starters, Emerick and Woodworth. But, I'm hoping I can get 1:50 out of them and get me to the next media timeout and still be within striking distance.

They get it back to 10 briefly, before we go on a 10-0 run keyed by back to back plays with Bracey hitting a three, then Sanders getting fouled and completing the 3 point play after hitting the free throw. Sanders has 11 and 7. With 8:07, it's all tied up at 71 and Navy calls a timeout.

Morey has missed some free throws, but he has 30 points for the 3rd time in 4 games. With 5:02 left, we lead 77-75. Ramage has been playing the last 3 or 4 minutes trying to survive his 4 fouls. It's amazing that we were trailing 0-18 at one point. Even if we lose, a pretty great comeback.

2:14 left, Ramage rebounds a missed free throw, and we lead 84-80. He gets fouled, and we're shooting 1 and 1 and he of misses it. Luckily they miss their next shot, Sanders grabs the board, his 9th. He gets fouled and we're in the double bonus and he hits both. Navy hits a three on their next possession and it's 86-83 with 1:45 left.

Sanders gets a rebound, then passes it to Ramage for some reason. He hits one of two free throws, then Steffens hits ANOTHER three for Navy and with 1:15 left it is 89-86.

Ramage gets fouled, makes one of two free throws. Navy misses the shot, Ramage gets the rebound, again makes one of two free throws. Flores gets the steal on the next possession, gets fouled and finally someone sinks both of them. With 32 seconds left we lead 93-86.

With 31 seconds left, Navy hits another three. I bring Woodworth and Ingram in for free throw purposes and of course they both get a shot, going 3-4 combined. Navy hits one more three for good measure, giving Ingram more opportunities at the line that he capitalizes on. It results in giving us a very high scoring game and a really amazing comeback win. Final: Appalachian State 98 - Navy 92. Morey has 3 games with exactly 30, and is sitting on a 26 point average right now and a 57.4 three point shooter. Sanders had a very nice game off the bench with 16 and 10, and he's looking like a guy who will be starting next year after Ramage leaves. He's currently averaging 11 and 7 in just 17 minutes a game.
