    Mets 5, Brewers 4

Sorry I'm getting a little lazy with the game reports. I just got another plethora of relievers thrown at me so it wasn't a pretty game.

    LP- Rick Helling (2-3)
    S- Billy Wagner (13)

    Scoring
    HR: A-Rod 2 (13), Corey Koskie (9)

Although I haven't seen it as much, what you could do is have 2 controllers in and enter the pitchers yourself. Then when the game starts, put the 2nd controller back to the CPU.

Ok. Never mind. I did find my old controller. Thank goodness cause at the pace I play my games it'd take a long time to get back to this point in a new one lol.

Ponson Outduels Heilman, Cards Win 1-0

St. Louis (AP)- In what is a rare occurence, the Mets offense was completely shutdown tonight as Sidney Ponson cruised to a complete game 5 hit shutout in a 1-0 victory. The lone offense for the Cardinals was provided by a solo home run from Jim Edmonds all the way back in the 2nd inning. Heilman picked up his 1st loss of the season despite pitching 8 strong innings giving up 1 run on 5 hits, and striking out 4.

Encarnacion Powers Cards Past Mets, 4-3

St. Louis (AP)- Once again a collapse by Victor Zambrano leads to another Mets loss. Heading to the bottom of the 6th having thrown only 70 pitches and holding a 3-0 lead Zambrano would give bean Albert Pujols, then follow that up with a 2 run homer to Jim Edmonds. Bigbie would reach 3rd a couple of batters later and eventually scored on a wild pitch from Zambrano to tie it up at 3-3. Then in the bottom of the 7th Juan Encarnacion homered off the left field foul pole off of reliever Juan Padilla to give the Cardinals the 4-3 lead which was held on to by relievers Looper and Isringhausen to close out the game. The Mets offense was provided on homers by Paul Lo Duca and Xavier Nady. Erstad also had an RBI in the loss.

Glad to see you are back up and running. It would be a shame to start over...Trust me, I have restarted 3 times and I am just back to game 20. I was at 60 in my first season.

                No doubt.

BTW, I've switched back to your sliders for those last two games. I was using them for the first couple of weeks or so of April then switched, but ultimately I've been getting the best results with yours.

St. Louis (AP)- The Mets were shutout for the 2nd time this series as the Cardinals completed the sweep behind a dominant performance from Cy Young Winner Chris Carpenter. May 20th: New York Yankees (24-17) @ New York Mets (21-21)

Reyes Leads Mets Past Yanks with Ground Rule Double in 12th, Mets Win 5-4

New York (AP)- The Mets finally broke their 4 game losing streak to top the Yankees 5-4 in extras. The Mets were trailing 4-1 heading into the 6th inning, but thanks to their ability to load the bases up and drive in 2 runs the Mets would pull to within 1. Hee-Seop Choi would come through in the 8th with a 2 out RBI single to tie the score up at 4-4 off of Kyle Farnsworth. The two teams would remain scoreless for the next 3 innings, including both team's relievers working themselves out of bases loaded jams with inning ending double plays. Then in the bottom of the 12th, Julio Franco would pinch hit for Jorge Julio and lead off with a double. Jose Reyes would then line a ground double into the left centerfield stands for the game winning RBI. The Mets relievers in Sanchez (2 IP) and Jorge Julio (3 IP) were dominant, allowing a combined 3 hits and no runs. Sanchez picked up the win, atlhough it should have been Julio.

BTW, I've switched back to your sliders for those last two games. I was using them for the first couple of weeks or so of April then switched, but ultimately I've been getting the best results with yours.
Thanks man. This looks great. Have fun.

May 21st: New York Yankees (24-18) @ New York Mets (22-21)

Heilman Improves to 5-1 as the Mets Win 4-3

New York (AP)- The Mets had a big 5th inning in which they pushed across 3 runs en route to the 4-3 victory over their hated crosstown rivals, the New York Yankees. Jose Reyes and So Taguchi executed a perfect squeeze play as Taguchi scored from 3rd and Reyes reached 1st safely on the fielder's choice picking up the RBI. Then with 2 outs, A-Rod would blast his 15th home run of the season to straight away center field to push the lead to 4-2. The Mets bullpen did an outstanding job in holding the lead as well. Heilman retired Cairo to start the 6th inning, but then gave up a double to Sheffield and walked Floyd. The Mets manager elected to go to Royce Ring who retired Giambi and Posada to get the Mets out of the jam. Then, in the 8th after retiring Cairo, reliever Juan Padilla would give up a solo shot to Sheffield. The Mets wasted no time in bringing in Billy Wagner who shut down the last 5 Yankees hitters for his 14th save of the season. Wagner still has not allowed an earned run to score. Aaron Small lost his first decision of the season to fall to 4-1 for the Yanks.
