Ouch, 0-3 Big East Start. Granted, those are not good teams, but you don't want to bounce yourself out of the Big Dance. Hopefully, you can bounce out of this slump!

Hopefully I can bounce back... Marquette was just too good for me though. What I'm really mad about is the WVU loss because I should have won that game...

          Recap

After finally winning their first conference game at home against Cincinnati, Notre Dame had to face another tough Big East opponent in Georgetown. Georgetown got up big on the Irish early, and never looked back. Georgetown dominated down low with Roy Hibbert and Patrick Ewing Jr, while Notre Dame struggled from everywhere on the court. Roy Hibbert had 26 points, 8 rebounds, 3 assists, and 2 blocks to lead the Hoyas.

Notre Dame fell behind by 25 in the 2nd half, but managed to cut the lead down some while the Georgetown starters were on the bench. Notre Dame only shot 35% from the field, and their top two scorers, Harangody and McAlarney, combined for just 19 points.

Notre Dame travels to Villanova next week where they desperately need a road victory.

                Recap

Trailing by 2 with under 15 seconds to go, Notre Dame had 1 last chance to either tie or win the game against Villanova. Notre Dame previously had an 8 point lead, but let it slip away to Villanova who eventually had their own 7 point lead. Notre Dame called a play, and gave it Luke Harangody in the low-post. Harangody backed down his man, turned and shot a jump hook that tied the game. In overtime, Rob Kurz hit the game winning layup on an excellent pass from Tory Jackson with 7 seconds left. Corey Fisher attempted a deep 3 to win the game, but it was off the mark as Notre Dame held on and won in overtime.

Corey Fisher led Villanova with 32 points and 6 assists, but missed the potential game-winner. Notre Dame did an excellent job defending Scottie Reynolds who shot just 2/12 and only scored 9 points. Kyle McAlarney led the Irish in scoring with 22 points, and also grabbed 5 rebounds. Luke Harangody scored 18, Rob Kurz scored 13, and Tory Jackson scored 11 with 8 assists.

After a nail-biter at Villanova, Notre Dame heads back home to take on Providence.

39.8%, so about 40%. He was up at about 43% before conference play, but had a few rough games. Those rough games seem to be over though.

                      Recap

Coming off a thrilling overtime victory over Villanova, Notre Dame made sure they wouldn't need overtime in this game. Guard Kyle McAlarney was on fire for the Irish, scoring all of his 21 points on 3-pointers. McAlarney shot 7/12 from deep, and also had 3 steals. Tory Jackson had a season-high with 10 assists, while Rob Kurz scored 18 points and Ryan Ayers added 15 points. Notre Dame ended up shooting 50% from downtown as a team, which is a good sign for the Irish shooters.

Notre Dame will play Depaul at home next.

Coming off a night where he hit 7 3-pointers, Kyle McAlarney had an even better game, scoring 24 points while hitting 7 of his 8 3-point attempts. Notre Dame also got 16 points from Luke Harangody, and only committed 2 team turnovers. The Irish were never careless with the ball, and made sure every possession counted. Tory Jackson followed his 10 assist performance last game with another 10 assist game, and Rob Kurz chipped in with 9 points and 11 rebounds.

Notre Dame will next travel to Seton Hall.

Nice rebound lately as you are back to 4-4 in conference play. Your first 3 games were difficult, but now you are going through an easier stretch which is good so you can get your confidence back. Good luck in the upcoming games.

                              Whoops, I'll fix that.

And yeah, McAlarney's shooting has really helped me these last few games. Hopefully he can carry that into the tougher games.

                                Recap

Notre Dame jumped all over Seton Hall early, scoring the first 14 points of the game. Notre Dame allowed Seton Hall to climb back in it, and even let them take a lead in the 2nd half. But with around 8 minutes to go in the 2nd half, Notre Dame went on a run to eventually put Seton Hall away. Luke Harangody was a force down low with 26 points, and Rob Kurz scored 18 points and grabbed 15 rebounds. Kyle McAlarney had 12 points in the win. The Irish are now above .500 in the conference for the first time this year.

Notre Dame will face Marquette at home next.
