    Trade Rumors Abound In Boston
Sunday, May 20th, 1906: Trade Rumors Abound in Boston
Several teams have surfaced as a possible trading partner with Boston for Kip Selbach -- or so rumor has it. Sources inside the Americans organization report that teams have inquired about making a deal for the 34-year-old left fielder.

Pirates Send Maloney To St. Louis
Sunday, May 20th, 1906: Pirates Send Maloney to St. Louis
The rumor has been out there for a while now and today it was made official. The Pittsburgh Pirates have sent 27-year old center fielder Billy Maloney to the St. Louis Browns for 31-year old right fielder Emil Frisk.

For the season, Maloney is hitting at a .244 clip with no home runs, 7 RBIs and has scored 9 runs. He has 19 hits, 4 walks and a .286 on-base percentage.

Frisk is hitting .405 this year with no home runs and 6 RBIs. He also has an OBP of .468, 5 walks and scored 4 times.

    Overall Holds Brooklyn Scoreless
Sunday, May 20th, 1906: Overall Holds Brooklyn Scoreless
After his 7-0 shutout win against the Superbas, Orval Overall said, "I went out there to try and eat up innings and help out our bullpen. I felt I had my good stuff... and it turned out my command was solid and my breaking balls were good."

They were better than good as the Reds pitcher put up 7 strikeouts, surrendered 6 walks, allowed 2 hits and kept the bullpen phone quiet all day long.

Currently Overall has a record of 2-8 with 47 strikeouts and 39 walks in 85.1 innings and a 2.85 ERA.

I was trying something different with the hardball heroes thing but I didn't really like it,it became too inpersonal.I really want this dynasy to focus on the Philadelphia Athletics and their quest to win the World Series.

Socks Seybold Lead Athletics Past Naps 6-5
Columbia Park,Phila.Pa.-With two of the best pitchers in the league on the mound and the wind blowing in to left, the stage was set for a low scoring pitchers duel, the baseball gods had other ideas. In a wild ballgame that saw the teams combine for 11 runs and 33 hits, the Philadelphia Athletics defeated the Cleveland Naps 6-5 thanks to A's RF Socks Seybold who absolutely creamed Addie Joss(6-2) today going 4 for 5 with 2 doubles,a home run,3 RBI and 3 runs scored in one of the finest performances by a Philadelphia batsmen this year. The A's also got big games out of Rube Oldring, and Eddie Collins who each had 3 hits in the game.On the mound, the A's Chief Bender(8-1) struggled throughout most of the game, but he did just enough to earn his league leading 8th victory of the season. For Cleveland,Elmer Flick was 2 for 5 with a homer and 2 ribbies in the loss. Here's the box score.

A's Win 3-1,But Lose Murphy For Season
Columbia Park,Phila,Pa.-Following today's 3-1 victory over the St.Louis Browns that saw Rube Waddell(7-2) in top form striking out 12 St Louis batters, the Athletics were dealt some bad news when they were informed that star second baseman Danny Murphy would be lost for the season thanks to a fractured ankle that he suffered while sliding into second in the first inning of today's game.Murphy has been a big part of this teams success since his arrival in 1902 from New York and his loss is a major blow to the A's championship hopes. Here's today's box score.

Monday, May 28th, 1906: Isbell Stretches Hit String to 20
The White Sox won the game today, but you would have been hard pressed to find anyone talking about it. The focus seemed to be on second baseman Frank Isbell extending his hitting streak to 20 games by going 2-for-5 in the game.

"Sure we are happy that we won, but seeing Frank extend his streak was also special," said a jubilant Chicago manager. "He's a special player who is capable of doing some amazing things at the plate."

For the record, the White Sox defeated the Boston Americans 5-1 at South Side Park II.
                              F. Isbell grounded out in the 1st, grounded out in the 3rd, singled in the 5th, grounded out in the 7th and singled in the 9th.

Isbell is batting .329 with 0 home runs and 16 RBIs this season.
