Re: The Philadelphia Athletics,1905 And On-OOTP 9
Breaking MLB News!
Friday, October 13th, 1905: Career Over for Johnny Evers
From the moment it happened, it was clear that Johnny Evers's injury was serious. In today's contest against Chicago the Cubs second baseman suffered a ruptured ulnar collateral ligament while throwing the ball.
Evers was carted off the field in a stretcher. The initial diagnosis was bad and the follow-up assessment at the hospital was even more grim: Evers's career is over.
Looking at his season stats, Evers has compiled a .296 batting average and a .363 on-base percentage, while hitting 3 home runs and driving in 30 runs.
Sunday, October 15th, 1905: Catcher Departing Boston?
Duke Farrell may be headed to another team -- that is, if rumors around the Boston clubhouse have any merit. The 39-year-old catcher has said publicly that he welcomes a trade.Comment
